    ABOUT…
    I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?
    Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot.
    Subscribe to Rebecca Vocal Athlete to get inspired by new videos weekly!!
    Have a great day!!

    Ever notice Chris keeps his wife Morgane up next to him on stage even tho she’s a “background singer”?
    Chris suffers from horrible stage fright and when he feels said fright he looks over at Morgane for confidence. That’s Love right there. He loves her that much.

    The American southern accent has a tone all its own. That’s why it’s fitted with a guitar and sometimes a banjer. Tinny yet warm. It’s easy to know when someone is faking that accent in song. Unfortunately that’s what a lot of current country singers are doing. Chris is the genuine article. Jamey Johnson as well.

      Chris’ accent is not a southern accent...it is a Central Appalachian accent. He grew up in eastern Kentucky (think Loretta Lynn). Living in Nashville for many years may have softened his twang as the accent in Nashville tends to be more typical of the expected southern accent.

      Actually Blues music and bluegrass come from completely different origins. Blues as we know it was born on the plantations in the south while bluegrass comes from the Scottish and Irish settlers who moved into the Appalachian mountains looking for land. As you stated country and blues became entwined in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

    • @Wiley_Coyote
      @Wiley_Coyote Před 5 lety +1

      @@primitivefish8277 regardless of if they have a common source, this is clearly a Blues performance, with a bit of country flavor. Country music (not all that differently from Pop music) appropriates and/or relabels things when it's convenient. Here this is far more to the Blues side, but the performer has a country image/label on him.

      Primitive Fish hey, just thought you’d know “bluegrass” was coined after the group/Godfathers of the genre “The Bluegrass Boys who were a southern group. It can be hard to pin down the origins of most sub genres tho, I think Blues is the genesis of most genres if you look back far enough. Especially anything folk, country, or rock related.

    Hello there! As being raised in middle Kentucky, my dad used to do some work on his property and I was told he is just the sweetest man, and believe it or not, he didn't think he could sing! His wife was just the perfect person for him and helped him get over some of his social anxieties as well as able to get him out in the world to share his talents! Years later he is doing amazing, and who do you think he has as his backup singer? His wife! Just someone out there for everyone! 😘

    The emotion/feeling that I get when I listen to him sing any song, is that he can relate to it. He adapts to the song that he’s singing. He just has this way! It’s a God given talent that he has! There’s no other explanation in my opinion. Everybody says he’s country artist. I say his genre music is “Chris Stapleton.”

    Chris Stapleton is what I believe you Brits would call a “proper musician.” The man is a genius. David Allan Coe first recorded that song almost 40 years ago and George Jones took it to #2 on the charts a few years later, and neither version sounded anything like what you just heard. I don’t know of any other time someone has taken a well known song and totally rearranged it and then taken it back to the top of the charts.
    If you want to see him performing at the height of his powers, check out “I Was Wrong” from that same Austin City Limits performance.

    This song is a good starting point as far as an introduction to his music but he's got many other songs that I think showcase his vocal skills better. "Sometimes I Cry" or "I Was Wrong" are great bluesy tracks that will blow you away. He writes them as well outside of this tune which is an older country song that he changed into a more soulful version.
