Mattel makes these for the adult collector. Packaging consistency is something that has been brought up at many conventions. Sometimes, the only thing that seems consistent is inconsistency.
I would speculate that marketing changed the colors so that collectors would more easily recognize that new cars have been pegged in the stores.
The models in the 2014 F Case for the Cool Classics line are:

I think the Toyota wheels are call Off Road Construction Tires (ORCT).

Mr. Grooves, the new colors are to show that it is a new year. It is an F case but the cars are the first batch of 2014 (1/30, 2/30...) It is not in the middle of the run.
I am a kid, and I really like the cool classics. Even though it says for the adult collector, it really doesn't matter.
So, this looks like it's the second series for Cool Classics. And, it looks like there's going to be 30 cars to collect again. Cool. I really liked the Cool Classics.

the Subaru brat also appeared in one the last 1-2 cases of the boulevard line
I really hope Mattel puts a Ferrari in the second series of Cool Classics. I'm rooting for the 250 LM (Le Mans), a great classic racing casting that Mattel introduced into the Hot Wheels line-up in 2007 and has done very little with since (I think its last appearance was in the Ferrari Racers series in 2008). I'd love to see the 250LM in full-diecast with Spectrafrost paint and a similar racing livery to the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe from the 2013 Cool Classics series.

I think the wheels are called Construction Tires (CT)
The Toyota Pickup has CT wheels which stands for Construction Tire.

I wonder if these means the new shippers are going to have the new artwork on them also, I like to collect store displays also so it would be interesting to hve a variation of a shipper.
Heavy card stock , metal on metal w/ sharp spectafrost paint ....color the cars on the card art whatever you want ! I'm sold on the cool classic line !! I do see your point though . Mattel has done a few things to upset the order through the years for sure . ie ; inserting chase pieces in the hot ones line and then offering them all in one set in target stores ...What !!! :-)
I like this line as well. As for the Hot Wheels and the Target box sets, what a bunch of baloney that was! They wound up getting put on clearance anyway =)
i think they changed the colors so you can tell the difference between the 2013(red/blue) and 2014 (pink/orange)

You got 4 of the same cars in the case because there were only 5 castings in the assortment. A thru E cases had 6 castings per assortment. Love the vids! Hope to say hi in Oak Brook!

It didn't dawn on me that there were only 5 castings. It also didn't dawn on me that none of the cars had only two pieces like before. Thanks a bunch and since you know what I look like, be sure to say hi in Oak Brook! I bought my ticket but I haven't scheduled my air/hotel yet.
Probably to make the pegs look more colorful. That would be my guess. I don't think that one particular color card makes either one more valuable.
So far, the Hot Ones Toyota Truck is the only other release that has a metal base (at least until the Retro Entertainment Back to the Future release comes out later this year). That could have been what you were thinking of. Nice to see a truck in the Cool Classics line (even if it doesn't have the retro slots). I plan on getting that and the two Firebirds!
Bet: the Camaro concept will be swinging on the pegs Forever! The turbo mustang is last series long swinger. Never saw a red '68 mustang on the pegs ever!
I bought a pink 64 impala and it said it was $2.88 at Wal-Mart but the ladu charged me $3.80 anyway nice new cars u should try them out on track ;)

Hey RG, I know it's weird for Mattel to change up their style on cards for Cool Classics (as seeing many dislike them) but I'm guess it's similar to Mattel changing basic's cards. 2012, 2013 and 2014 have different styles could be even they dunno what cards we want, cause I'm sure we have no idea too! The 87 Pick-up looks pretty cool! Also I think something is up with the middle truck, seems to have a darker paint (or just lighting.) Also the Subaru BRAT was also in Boulevards series. Later!

might be a case of some models are selling better as you said in the first ever cool classics vid, "dose that mean the red is going to be rarer?" might be all matel spys (yes how do you think they put out great models) have seen on pegs nothing but blue cars so change it up,
