Cool Classics 2014 J Case With VW, Mustang, Corvette And More!

- This is the last batch of Cool Classics because the line has reportedly been canceled. Mattel is not going to produce #21-30 for the 2014 Cool Classics. There were some fantastic models scheduled and those will appear in the upcoming Heritage series instead. The Heritage releases are expected to have Real Riders and Redline tires. Whether that means that every release will have Redline Real Rider tires or some will have non-redline Real Riders or some will be Redline plastic tires, only time will tell.

This last Cool Classics wave have oddly been out here in New Zealand for several weeks now. Not sure why this part of the world received them so early. Unfortunately the price retailers are selling the Cool Classics for here is ridiculously expensive - US$10.50 (NZ$12.99) per car!!! We feel privileged to get a behind the scenes tour too, awesome Mark = )
That must be one of the biggest Die-cast Collections in the world, it's crazy. You know I love VW's and I love that Beetle but the Corvette is my favorite, that color is just amazing! LIKE

I love that Galaxie casting no matter what line it is in. This batch of Cool Classics hasn't made it to Alaska yet, we only seem to get every other batch. I like the Galaxie so much I even started hunting them down in other brands. M2, Auto World etc...

I think this is a rare example when a specific case arrived in Ottawa, Canada before you could do a video on it in L.A. I got the Corvette, the Volkswagen Drag Bug, and the Galaxie two weeks ago. The Mustang SVO seems to be the one that's hardest to find, but I got it earlier this week. Maybe I'll get the Astro Funk if they clearance it to $2.
The weird thing about the VW Drag Bug is that I think it's supposed to fully open, but I can barely get it to open more than about half a centimetre (re: about a fifth of an inch). Not that I care that much about it not opening properly, I'm happy to finally have an example of it in my collection (one of the few Hot Wheels Beetles I didn't have a single one of whatsoever besides the original Evil Weevil casting).
Even if they weren't quite on par with the Hot Wheels Classics from last decade (since you only got one colour of each car per release), I'll still miss the Cool Classics. I wonder if Mattel actually made a small run of the next Cool Classics cars that they'll dump in Canada and Brazil like they did with the 2012 HW Racing Road Racers?
I believe the Heritage Line will alternate between plastic Redlines and Real Riders with the release of each case, so one case will be plastic, the next one rubber, the next one plastic again, and so on.
Steve Brandon As for getting the Astro Funk on clearance, that's going to be quite likely, in my opinion. They better not dump the last ten cars outside the USA!
Man, I'm gonna need to pick some of these up before collectors in my area hear the news. :P

Too bad this line is being canceled,but you're right..they are good looking cars but when they start selling them for $5 a piece the market goes down...they never did sell this line here in Costa Rica.
I like the Galaxie and SVO. But yeah, I agree about the price. Too much for a car that doesn't have rubber gyres.
U are right. The price really is the worst part about Cool classics. I never touch this at all. Mattel better start being smart and not expect to rip us all off by marking up stuff because it has some nostalgia value of their older ranges.
I have 3 or 4 of the cool classics, but generally speaking, I didn't care enough for the castings that they were worth the extra bucks. I typically only buy what I like....what catches my eye. There just weren't enough of these to do that.
We've had this case for ages here in Australia. They're plentiful.
What are the square lights on the stands Mark, they look pretty trick like pro lights I have seen on on studio supply websites, but they are very expensive.
I'd pick them up in a heartbeat but they havent been available in our walmarts here in SC, We still have first series Js on pegs
I've only seen one or two different case codes in walmarts in my area, sometimes they don't even carry them
I recently paid 4.99 for each one of those cars. It's worth it for that Sperctraflame color. Got my vrery first Volkswagon Dragster. Hot Wheels doesn't release that one anymore.

RAID TEMPER It would have been nice if they did at least short runs of the last ten models but I guess they would rather get ready for the next line.
here in Puerto Rico cost 7.99 each in Walmart, Kmart, Walgreens, CVS and in toys r us it cost 5.99 each plus tax! i always wanted to buy one but my God 6 bucks its to much i think! it cost 1.50 to 2.00 plus Tax for regular line hot wheels.
sad i liked that line they were a bit pricey for me as a 15 year old i still enjoyed them :'(
so the astro funk is in the j case ? is the j case coming out now or has it been out, i realy like that astro just one of my top 10 favs of course you know me and my love for the Bone shaker, anyways should i be on the look out or am i too late ?
Cool classics are KOOL. I like Em. How ya going to have completed 30 car set. O WELL on to the next! O and the classic fall through the roof trick crazy. Have fun see YA!.
They did release the rest of the 30 i saw them at a target. I even have pictures.

lag...lol well where is the tissue box this series was ended to early but now i am gonna buy as many as i can cause you never know when in the future they could be pieces that people would regret getting and then pay some high numbers to get them i hope i am not one of them i went to target the other day..nothing :( hopefully they get the last assortment soon

TheUltimate Duo It is not likely that a seller is going to bust open a 5-pack and try to sell the individual models from that pack. There is only one realistic model.

TheUltimate Duo OK, I wish you luck. On a computer, you can save an eBay keyword search. Click on the 'Follow this search' text after you do a search. Use 'Hot Wheels Fireball Image' so that it filters out the other stuff.
