- We have here a 2017 Ram ProMaster City Tradesman that the fan stays on high even when the cars off. The shop thought it was a communication problem because they were not able to communicate with it. It ended up being a lot simpler... Hope you enjoy!

Remember the old days, when their was 1 fuse box, today they have several, its not getting any easier to figure out what's wrong!!! Great job!!!
Yup and they keep adding more networks to keep us on our toes😀
Nice!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Wow, nice detailed process of elimination trouble shooting. Gave me an excellent course of action for my problem on an Ram Ecodiesel. Thanks man!
Good video and congratulations on the thousand subscribers
Thank you! and thanks for always watching!
Thanks for this video it was awesome fix. Please keep up the good work
Excellent diagnosis bro. No wasted work there.
Thanks for watching!
Great JOB !!!!!
Good diagnosis there. Likely the high speed relay failed since it was forced to work more often than it typically would have since the dropping resistor had failed preventing normal low speed fan operation. I'm sure this fix will improve AC performance as well. Good job. Congrats on 1000 subs.
Thank you! I agree that's most likely what caused it.
Great diagnosis nice work sir 👍
Thank you!
Congratulations on the subscriber milestone!
Thank you!
1k subs congrats next month 10k thanks for the videos
Thank you!
Ha, you just crossed the thousand subscriber threshold. Congrats!
Thank you!
Great videos brother. You’ll grow big with subs. I like the longer videos and explanation than the old videos where it’s quick and cramped.
Thanks I appreciate the feedback!
DUDE YOUR VIDEOS ARE SOOOOOOOOO GOOD , I ONLY WISH I COULD GO ON A RIDE ALONG . I AM SO SURE I WOULD DEFINITELY LEARN A TONNE THANK'S SO MUCH FOR THE VIDEOS AND YOUR TIME . DO YOU HAVE ANY ONLINE AUTOMOTIVE TRAINING SITES THAT'S WORTH CHECKING OUT ????
Thanks! I would check out Paul Danner at scannerdanner.com, for programming and keys Keith Perkins at l1training.com
Hi, sir, I have the same problem but on low speed. It only works on slow speed. If you can give me some idea. I really appreciate.
I would check fuse 7 it is a 50amp fuse for the high speed fan. I would also check the high speed fan relay.
👍
Need your help I have same van fuse was bad ,replaced fuse fan won't work if I remove fuse it start working and if put back and remove fan relay it star working too😢😢
Which fuse is this?
@@advancedleveldiagnostics f6 40amp fan fuse
When I connect my ob2 computer to my car it’s not communicating with it I redid the wiring in the car because of a fire in the car and the tachometer and speedometer don’t work. I checked all the fuses all all right any ideas congratulations on 1k
The first step is to make sure you have power on pin 16 and ground on pin 4&5 of the DLC. That is what powers up your scan tool. if that is good it really depends on what type of communication protocol your vehicle uses....
So a bad relay and resistor, keeps the fan on when the car is off? That's strange programming, I guess it's there to alert you that there's something wrong with the cooling system.
Sorry if I wasn't clear, it wasn't programming. The high side relay was mechanically stuck on causing the fan to stay on. It also had a bad resister that's why it didn't work on low. Two separate issues.
@@advancedleveldiagnostics Ok, got it. I missed the part where you said it was mechanically stuck, but makes sense. 👍
