- Everyone has their own Chimera, something they try to achieve but never manage to find. For the band of tombaroli, thieves of ancient grave goods and archaeological wonders, the Chimera means redemption from work and the dream of easy wealth. For Arthur, the Chimera looks like the woman he lost, Beniamina. To find her, Arthur challenges the invisible, searches everywhere, goes inside the earth - in search of the door to the afterlife of which myths speak. In an adventurous journey between the living and the dead, between forests and cities, between celebrations and solitudes, the intertwined destinies of these characters unfold, all in search of the Chimera.

Was lucky enough to see this at Melbourne Film Festival a while ago. Glad this is getting a release. People are in for a treat with this.

I'd watch anything with Josh O'Connor. BRILLIANT actor beyond words.
I hope people fall in love with Carol Duarte just like us Brazilians did. Brazilian actors are amongst the best in the world, they need a chance to prove it.

Just saw this movie and was thrilled by it. It is a paean to everyone who quests for something, with a long look at how onlookers can torment these visionaries. A strong condemnation too of people who loot their own past for profit.
Really loved this film, saw it at the Philly Film Festival and was shocked at how much I loved it

I don’t. Overused. Not sure how you miss it when it’s been used so much.
Although it looks fine here i suppose.
It's been on a comeback since more or less a decade ago. And it doesn't fit this movie. I see that with more "cinema" movies, arthouse, experimental whatever you call them, that in order to look more like a legitimate, proper film experience they tend to use these out of fashion posters that reminds the public of some "legit" classics. And then we continue with this boring lack of a new visual identity that's been defining the last decade well into the mid 2020s. Everything has to look like something that has been done before. This movie wants to "change how we look at the world" as the trailer suggests, but it doesn't bother moving away from a Sergio Leone like poster from decades ago? That superhero, netflix etc media has already been overusing it too?
Let this poster style die. Now If anybody doesn't think this is worth ranting about don't even bother replying too.

The camera! I feel like im watching a legitimate 70s film!
Which is a bit of a shame. It's nice to watch something from our own time too, but most movies want to look back as if we got no other choice but to copy what already works .
But also, idk, this looks like many European movies of nowadays, it's the quality of the film there, it's filmed differently from us media usually.
