Polyraptor was my first mythic ever, he defined my first constructed deck in standard. It consisted of one copy of him, one copy of carnage tyrant and 58 copies of different garbage.
My main opponent was guy who played Izzet wizards, our games were literally a toss of coin:
1) I draw and play carnage tyrant before he manages to stabilize advantage or manage to sneak polyraptor uncoutered -> I win
2) I lose in any other situations
Just pulled the mana crypt today! The whole box I received is insane.
The fact they printed mana crypt and went "This is too broken we need to balance it"
"How about 50% chance for 3 damage per turn?"
"Perfect! Printed"
To be fair it was printed before the days of Commander/EDH so 3 life was a lot more of a loss
Ive had a cedh player lose 21 life throughout the game thanks to mana crypt

Yeah I can see a polyraptor in my mutate deck...block my creature I get various copies of one creature with multiple abilities.
Oooo good one. Super annoying tho. U make a copy then mutate on it again and now u have a new creature. You would 100% need those whiteboard cards.
Huh, cool, didn't know mutate was copyable.
@OatmealTheCrazy Not many do, but it follows the rules of "casting" as it's an alternative casting cost. And when a copy is made, it has all the abilities and etc of the card that has the other mutated stuff on it too.
Wait, so after Mana Crypt the third most expensive is 16 bucks? ... I didn't realize that. I thought there'd be a more gradual taper of card value throughout the Special Guest slot.
Nope. Its for gamblers so they put in a jackpot card and duplicate commons for every card slot lol
The neon ink foil Crypts are going for way more than $180
This is noch special guest ;)
The Dargo SG print is insanely dope.
Thrasios with that one Blue Partner that says that, whenever you scry, you draw that many cards instead, would be a great partner deck.
There was an infinite loop involving acorn catapult and sprouting phytohydra years ago but now it is a bit more consistent with the addition of polyraptor.
I’m waiting for my box to arrive in the mail as I live an hour away from any game store but I was in town the other day and bought ramptors along with a single pack and low and behold I pulled a mana crypt. Never been this lucky in my life and probably never will again
The number of games I’ve drawn in commander with poly raptor + marauding raptor is criminal.
It’s a risk I have to take with my Atla Palani Dino deck
At least there's a new dino in the precons to help with that, I have the same use hahah

@@christopherreid4782yes, if it goes infinite without stopping you lose, often why playing something that deals damage with enter battle effects like Terror of the peaks is recommended, or lightning bolting/food chaining your marauding raptor
Anyone else a little upset with how much they hyped up special guests. But then see how little they actually show up in packs

and Mana Crypt barely budged in price for Canadians. we spend around $250CAD for the other copies. It sucks but not shocked due to the alt arts.

Not the box, its 6 draft boosters
I bought 4 boxes and got 4 caverns. Not a single mana vault. I dont even want it to use. I just want that real so i can mess with my friend who has like 11 proxies of it.

You take three damage, not lose three life with Mana Crypt. They are different things.

What are special guests exactly?
None of these should be more than .50 cents. It’s cardboard.
Anything people can claim is rare and valuable the greed will kick in and people will start charging exorbitant prices for them. It's moronic but human nature.
I go to the ups store and I pay 95 cent a page and get 20 cards per page. Cost about 13 or 14 to print an entire commander deck, and I have thousands of uncommon cards I slide in behind my proxies in a sleeve. Print those bad boys at 1600 dpi, so as long as I'm good with the exacto knife I still have beautiful cards to play magic at my kitchen table with

Really dislike the mana crypt art but glad I got my copy for 80 bucks a few years ago lol
