It was my sister's first experience on a cruise ship and, although not everything was perfect, we certainly had a great time! Hi - the ship Piano Man isn’t only in the elevators. He suddenly appears all over the ship at totally random times. So you’re right it isn’t in the Cruise Planner because it is completely random. And yes so fun to see him! 😃
He's called the "Stowaway" piano player. 😂😂 I love that he just shows up anywhere on board! It's pretty cool❤
I meant to post this on last weeks video , but never got around to it. First of all, your sister is beautiful! I enjoyed your trip with her so much. She seems to bring out a playful side to you that comes with that brother /sister bond. That's why you had so many snacks! I would love to see you do a zoom with her so she could share some of her thoughts of being a first time cruiser. Your channel makes the world a better place. Don't ever stop what you're doing.
Just loving the obvious wonderful time you had with your sister and that the pros outweigh the cons...an older Mall ship is going to be my first big Royal cruise probably and so glad the good was really good.
Royal Caribbean is smoking something wacky. We have actually cancelled upcoming cruises on them because they aren’t worth the price. We have 2 left past final payment that we won’t cancel but we are sticking to other lines from now on. Princess is by far the best value and we are staying in suites and mini suites for far less than a basic balcony cabin on Royal.
I'm 56 and also love sides etc. We're on Voyager of the Seas in Feb 2026 and it's been Amplified with the water park - thanks for the info regarding it being "old person friendly"! 😛

Loved our Steampunk Beauty playing the piano on the Navigator. Our family has opted for a Club Med trip this spring instead of cruise - it will be interesting to see them decide which they prefer.

Hi Morgan... the Dragon coaster is self limited. I did the run without brakes (can see my poor video) and could feel the car slowing me down in places. The zip line looked awsome.

I just love how much fun you had with your sister! Continuing the high $$$ cost for Icon conversation. What you mentioned as fare for 1 solo ($12K); is what I am spending for 4 cruises; 2 transatlantic crossings on the QM2(interior), 1 - 12 day British Isle cruise in an aft balcony, and 1 - 7 day Norwegian Fjord cruise with P&O Britannia in a "guarantee" balcony. 4 sailings x 2 people; 5 weeks of travel. Nothing on the ICON appeals to me. I loved seeing your zip line and coaster adventure.

Our first cruise was 2007, on a Freedom Class ship. The shows then were Royal created story line shows. So it's not new.
When we were on the Symphony, the piano player wasn't stopping at any floors. He was playing but just kept going up and down.
My husband tried to go on the water slide on Symphony but they said he couldn't wear his glasses-- the attendent said they could shatter and leave glass everywhere. They're plastic! And he had a strap. His vision is so poor, going on a waterside and not being able to see, especially to get up and out at the end, would have been way more risky.

I agree, the old person friendly slides are fun! I really need to make it a point to go on those water slides! This last cruise on Allure of the Seas doesn't have water slides. The next ship I am booked on that has water slides is Carnival Glory in September.
Piano elevator looked really cool.
So this young couple of cruisers called the travel spree booked their aft, wake view balcony cabin the day cabins were released foe booking and paid a total of $7,000 for 14 days which included the inaugural cruise. That's $1750/per person per week double Occupancy. It's impressive. They are young, under 30 and seem to have done dozens of cruises in 3 years. I've now watched at least 8 cruise vloggers post about their 3 day marketing junket cruise or inaugural cruise, and I love how they're reviews highlight different aspects of the ship based on their interest. I'm quite impressed with the ship despite the fact that I prefer quieter ships. The innovation of the Icon and its live shows would be my driving force for going on the Icon. I think you would love it even if you don't go for a year or so, Morgan. Thanks for your videos. Ery entertaining and quirky, which is what I appreciate about you.
We just found a duck on Venezia and it made me so happy. Adds to the cruise! Also we got a solicitation for Girl Scout cookies in our cabin door. Love the org but I can see ads.getting out of control

The zip line at Icy Straight Point in Alaska is the world's largest zip-line:
5,330 feet long
1,300 foot vertical drop
60 mph maximum speed
300 feet highest point from ground … 1.5 minute ride time.

@@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides Check out Ben & David’s Icy Straight Point video from 2023. They did these zip lines so you can see it. 😁. And the views are better from a regular camera instead of the 360 camera so we can see the true height and reality.

Morgan, have you ever considered recording an audiobook of your book. I read it but my husband doesn't read books but I think I could play an audiobook in the car.
Living in Germany, it’s really hard to produce an audiobook and have it available on Amazon next to the printed copy, and kindle copy. I did an experiment and recorded the beginning of it on my Patreon page and, like eight people listen to it. 🤷🏽♂️ Unfortunately, I think the reality of producing the entire book as an audiobook is not very practical for me. Sorry!

I have witnessed the piano “lift” 😂. Also we experienced the elevator buffet food eater 🤢. We were waiting for the lift and the doors opened to reveal a guy with a plate piled with food and he was chowing down ! He asked us if we were going up or down and spat out most of his food . We sat which way are you going and when he said down we said “oh thank you but we want to go up” . We then walked down the stairs 😂

That be very interesting to hear your views on an all inclusive Resort 😜. Wow thats some nice cruises for a way beter price than I con of the Seas 😊 does make me wonder what will Utopia of the Seas cost when it sails😱.
But if People are able to/ willing to pay these prices see them sadly keeping them 🤷♀️.
I just could justify 7,000/ 12000 for just a Cabin 😬.
I had to laugh at the slides “ Old people friendly😜 i know exactly what you mean Morgan ( your not Old ) we were at a Resort many years ago i tried those sort of slides , i was very badly Bruised 😢 not fun .

I was lucky, booked icon back in 2022 for Christmas 2024 and although 3500 for two seemed like a lot at the time, it’s way better than 12k.. especially over Christmas

Thanks Morgan, agree 100% with you on the shows onboard. Prefer the singers and dancers do acts they are good at, as opposed to telling a cramped story in 35/45 minutes.
I'm hoping to go on Icon in February 2025 on my free cruise thru casino. Inside cabin but I'll try and upgrade if not too expensive.

Always a highlight when the notification comes at 12:30 eastern that it's Sunday Sofatime! I must take umbrage with your definition of "old people". I refuse to be old! That said, I am not a fan of water slides anyway. I'm like a cat when it comes to getting wet. 😀Looking forward to the all-inclusive as I've never done that type of vacation either.

As a single female who is wanting to start cruising, I am devouring your cruise tips/ships/itineraries and so on. QUESTION: Just for fun, I'd love to start at the bottom ($$) and work my way up. Which ship should I start with? Also, I hate I will have to pay a single supplement so that is why I am beginning at the bottom. A video on this subject (cruising from the bottom up $$) would be SO appreciated! This would be a great series for us newbies! Love your channel...thank you! 🙂
First of all, thank you so much for the compliments. It's great to get that feedback and know that I am helping and entertaining people. As far as cruising solo: yes, it sucks! (That's really the best way to put it :-P ) There are very few opportunities to NOT have to pay a ton extra. NCL does offer "solo cabins", but they still cost more than if you were cruising with 2 people. Costa Cruise Line, (which cruises primarily in the Mediterranean), does offer some cruises for solo passengers with just a very minimal upcharge. And that's really it!
The problem with starting small is, a 2 day or 3 day cruise doesn't really give you the same feeling as a 5 day or week long cruise. The shorter; and especially the shorter inexpensive cruises, are often filled with people who are just onboard to party. That's why I feel like a longer cruise is better for the first cruise because then you really get the feel for it. Does that make sense?
@@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides Yes, it does. I am new to cruising so trying to figure it all out. Cruising is def an expensive proposition for single folks. I'm in Nashville so I have to look at air fare and hotel stays (the night before, everyone seems to suggest) on top of cruise fares. With the three combined it all adds up for the solo traveler. I'll keep researching to look for budget solo cruises. Thanks so much for your response and, again, I love your channel! 🙂

Something to point out in defense of the Icon, yes it is very expensive,but the ship is unlike anything we have ever been on before.
So many people comment about how many other cruises they could go on or what all inclusive they could stay at for the same cost as the Icon, but it’s not the same thing.
You could buy 5000 Big Macs for the same cost, so what?
We are not comparing apples to oranges, it’s like comparing apples to bowling balls.
I’ve seen so many comments all over the internet, but all I can say is the Icon is astonishing. I was lucky enough to get a cabin in my budget. All I can say to everyone is wait till the price drops to a comfortable price and see for yourself.
