- More and more airlines are offering a travel class between Economy and Business Class: Premium Economy. But the difference in ground and cabin experience is significant when you compare airlines.
This summer, we flew @airfrancefr Premium Economy on the Boeing 777-300 between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi. Air France offers Premium Economy passengers a more premium experience. However, our experience was not that great on this flight.

thanks!!!! Helpful and relevant video. So many videos - crazy music, graphics, and nonstop pictures of the wing and the sky , as if people flying premium have never seen it before. That is nice getting the seats at 14A and B. When I sit in Premium Economy I try to always have those two seats right next to the bulkhead wall right there behind Business Class. I do like the right side, the A & B side first then the left side at the window I like secondly. Those are to me the best in Economy in general.

A million times better than what KLM calls their "premium comfort".
Cause the so called generous recline, only means that somebody in front of you will be lying in your lap.
But with shell-seats it's your private space. Air France 👑
Thanks for sharing your experience. Comparing KLM’s Premium Comfort and Air France’s Premium Economy we really think the KLM hard product is superior. The seats are much more comfortable. Yes, you’re right about the recline from the seat in front of you. But apart from that the seat itself is much better in our opinion. You can always consider the bulkhead seat by the way.
In premium eco the main dish used to same as economy, but with upgraded starter (I got foie gras once) and desert. In the nearby future the main dish will be upgraded too

How much can the premium seat recline? BTW, I really love the Air France safety video.
AF has two different PE classes, the good one and the bad one. This one is the bad one. The seats slide out a bit a provide this awkward recline. Meanwhile the newer PE reclines a lot and is reminiscent of business class back in the 80’s/90’s.
How do you know ahead of time which PE seats your flight will have ?

i was massively disappointed in PE when i tried it once because the seats don’t recline, which was totally unexpected. from thinking i would be more comfortable on a long haul flight i ended up being even more exhausted and aching all over. no recollection re the food so it must have been standard & unremarkable. i’m perfectly happy to stick to economy with its possibility to recline on softer seats !! i wish you had covered more about the seats during this video since a flight experience is really 90% spent in the seat itself. and i wonder if AF plans on refreshing their PE cabin at all - do people actually enjoy the PE experience !? thanks for the video 🙂

I am in complete agreement. I had my experience Paris-Boston back in 2013. After 10 years this BS premium seat is still a total disgrace. As Simple Flying put it, you are forced to slouch when in "recline" mode. I called it a torture board and would have gladly traded it for a regular coach seat. Plus, the seat rest kept kicking up, making it impossible to get comfortable. For what they charge, it's a fraud. Why they want to make their passengers uncomfortable is anyone's guess. Plus, AFs cabins are often uncomfortably hot, with no individual air inlets for relief. Never again !!
Completely agree. I flew Singapore to Paris on regular econ which i guess was fine for economy, and PE on the way back. Wow that PE seat recline is absolutely horrible, way harder to sleep in and as the other commenter below said it felt like some sort of torture board.
Some say the harshell seats make it more difficult to sleep. Do you find that to be true?

Does the front row of AF prem econ against the bulkhead give a better ride than the other rows?
Thanks for your question! I would not recommend as the leg space is limited compared to non-bulkhead.
Great video, really enjoyed watching. I have flown the same AF B777 model as this, a few times in business and many times in economy. You inspired me to try the premium economy soon!

@@InsideFlyerOfficial Hello again! I was about to book a Rio x Europe trip in premium economy now in October, going with AF and return with KLM new PE . When I finally decided to book, the PE in KLM was not available any more and AF both ways got a little to expensive, so I ended up in economy again hehehehe.
Has Air France made wearing a face mask optional like many other airlines ? Or is it still mandatory ?
