- This will probably be the only vlog of the trip. No time for chitchat, so many miles to be done and shit to talk over the intercom. So it's Day 3 of the trip and I've woken up in the Black Forest. It's a place I've wanted to visit for ages and seeing on the back of the bike is the way it should be done.
Running down the spine of the Black Forest is the B500. It's a road that was apparently designed the by the Polizei to train their motorcycle division fast road riding back in the 60s and 70s. All the corners have been built with a constant radius so it's the perfect moto playground. I'm going back...soon.

You're too kind! I've lost the urge to vlog...apart from when on a trip. The towns in Northern Italy are even prettier as are the humans and the delicious food! But I'll make a music viddy with the best bits :)

What a treat! My predominant thought for this video was "He's like a kid on Christmas morning." Glad you enjoyed your trip. There's talk in our family about doing a vacation to Baden-Baden....might just have to make that happen. Thanks for sharing....stay safe.
It's a spa town (I think Baden means bath...) pretty sure there are nice nature walks and stuff right by the town. The forests are nice and there should be a couple of castles around. Hope you guys can make it happen!

I think I was most impressed by your ability to keep track of the mirror bolts so they could be affixed for the tour. Lots of audible smiling in this one. Like the kicks but they make me nervous. Break out the Welsh maps, can't let the acorn squash get dusty this month.
I do admire your keen eye! Mirrors had to go on since those pesky Continentals feel they are a necessary part of motorcycle operation. Dreadful things, they ruin the lines of the SDR! If the kicks made you nervous, then I shouldn't tell you about riding triple digits in boardies at midnight in a lightning storm around Lake Garda! this road will be concested every day and especially at the weekends.....but.....there are many smaller roads to explore there. :)
the last time i was there the frendly neighborhood watch took a picture of me riding a tad to fast.....a plus: the fines are manageable..
"The fines are manageable" says the Swiss motorcyclist ;) I can imagine the smaller roads are proper fun since the signs say they are dangerous!

I like the image your mind's eye has drawn of me...might just have to make it reality =) And...it might just push you over the edge to trade the KLR in for an 1190 ADV R and do the same...on dirt!

We didn't have time to explore the side roads on that trip. But we went a few years later on supermotos and it was amazing!
