If you experienced this recent polar vortex and survived CONGRATULATIONS! While Vancouver Island was way colder than it tends to get I was in the 'warmest' place around and for that I am grateful because it meant being outside was tolerable. I really enjoyed making this video and I'm glad that Frank had such a great time at our camp spot 💜
I sleep in my jeep at work as a nurse when I do long shifts. No heat but I am super prepared. Had the best sleep at minus 47 in Alberta 🤙. I survived 😊
Yikes! Hospitals need to have noise cancellation sleeping pods for staff use.

Nice you have a good friendship in flossy. It does take work. It's clear that frank has a wrapped foot. So I assume that's where the surgery was. I hope that helps him to walk better. Cheers.

Amanda, I just put my lovely dog down to rest. I had such confusing emotions because my brain was saying do the right thing, but my heart was saying , "I just need you for a little bit longer. Plus, Lulus health deteriorated so quickly. She was almost blind, almost completely deaf, she could hardly smell, she started to just lay in her bed all day, she starting favoring one of her legs and then.....I couldnt get her to eat. So I started cooking for her. Sausage. Hamburg. Beef. And she gulped up her meals for 2 .5 days, then just stopped eating. I tried giving her her favorite treat, but she just nibbled on it. I made the phone call to Peace for Paws. I had 5 days to say goodbye . I did all her favorite things, or should I say tried and I cried and cried and cried until the morning came...The vet and assistant camenin my home and for the 1st time in Lukus life, she didnt bark! I thought, how odd? The vet proceeded to give her this mooshy treat from a tube, and miraculously, Lulu ate it in seconds and wanted more until she had eaten the whole tube. I couldn't believe it. So after 5 mins she was more relaxed. That was the time I said my final goodbyes thru lots of tears, but suddenly I felt relieved because Lulu was ready. She showed me signs that she was ready. She lived 12 years, which was 2 years beyond normalcy. A shot came next after I was ready which was anesthesia to put her out like she was getting ready to have surgery. That took about 5 minutes as I continued to hold her, kiss her, love her and then when I was ready, the final shot came. And yes I cried deep tears HOWEVER I knew Lulu wanted it. Amanda, Frank will let you know. Ok? I couldnt of asked for a better experience. I recieced a clay piece with her name and paw print. A lock of her hair. Then later they sent me different color of paper with her paw print. They were so kind sending me supportive texts throughout the week and even made sure she'd have a pink blanket...Amanda you'll know whennits time. You'll know cause Frank will change his normal behavior. If Frank doesn't want surfery, you'll know because he'll show you. I hope this helps you as much as the experience did for me and I'm talking about all the moments my dog showed me she was ready. I couldn't believe it but I knew it was necessary because it was an act of love... please make sure you have whatever you need afterwards whether it be family or a friend or to be alone(which I chose). You wont be alone in this journey hun. And yes I still say its a shame that our pets pass away after a short period ofvtime but Amanda I quickly remembered why I got Lulu. It was to fill the gap in my life as I had became disabled. And my Lulu did that and so much more.......❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I am so happy you have Flossy to hang with. You two are two peas in a pod! I watch her channel also. The scenery there is so beautiful and I truly hope I can make it out there before I die. My Mom is elderly and depends on me so my trips adventuring have to be shorter ones. I so relate to your need to be alone a lot. I am the same way. I like my good friends and enjoy social time now and again but my alone time hiking with my dogs is very healing and calming for me. Sending much love to you and Frank. I just watched this beautiful video snuggled up in my van bed with my dogs, parked on the beach in northern California after hiking through the redwoods. Watching you and Flossie and Frank was the perfect way to end this day.

The section on the frozen stream & waterfall with the water running under it is a great metaphone for life...there is this thin, shiny crust on top, but a deep and swirling world of activity below it. Nice!
