  • Viticulture is a worker-placement game with a wine-making theme. It's a strong strategy game with a heavy emphasis on balancing your actions.
    The Dice Have Spoken is a channel all about table top games. In the "How to Play" series, I teach you the basics of popular board games as quickly as I can so that you can skip reading the rule book, and jump into the game!

    I’ve watched several videos on this game today to prepare to play it, and this was by far the best. Excellent explanation of the rules. I appreciated your occasional humor, great use of visual demonstrations, helpful visual clarification (the cottage and wine cellar pieces), and very straight-forward explanation of the rules. Thanks for making this video! :)

    Thanks! You're really good at this and I only wish your channel would have many many more How To Play videos than it currently have..

    Thanks for the rules explanation. It was concise and very well laid out. This is the one I'd recommend to anyone who wants to learn the game.

    Best video on this game, love how you went through a full “turn” (year). Wish you could make something like this for Concordia, which no one in my circle has played before. So impossible to learn from videos so far!

      Thanks for the suggestion! My son decided to use my camera as a bath toy, so I'm not making videos currently, but as soon as I get back into it I'll look into that game!

    This is THE best video on how to play Viticulture. You won't find a more clear video than this. I would love to see you do a video on the Automa.

      @@thedicehavespoken6234 I'd love to see that video. Especially due to your thorough explanation. And maybe even a video on the Tuscany Expansion. I do have a quick question: Do you harvest the grape on the vine you are going to uproot (and you haven't harvested that field yet that year)? In real-life you could.

      @@soggysunshine8700 lol, bery true. No you dont, but that would be a nice incentive for uprooting your less useful vines.

    The only part I'm unclear on is when/how do you draw the small cards in a 2- or 3-player game?

    • @thedicehavespoken6234
      @thedicehavespoken6234  Před 2 lety

      The blue and yellow visitor cards are always drawn during the fall regardless of the number of players. (Fall happens after all players have used all their workers during summer or have all passed)
      The green and purple cards are drawn when the draw vine cards or draw wine order cards actions are taken. The only limitation in regards to player number is the amount of players who can take those actions during the same year.

  • @goldboxmedia8071
    @goldboxmedia8071 Před 2 lety

    Does the first player place all his workers at once or is it one at a time clock wise order in a season? And is the action taken immediately after the worker is placed ?

    • @thedicehavespoken6234
      @thedicehavespoken6234  Před 2 lety

      First, the turn order is determined in a clockwise fashion by each player placing their rooster token on the turn order track. Then each player places their workers one at a time in the order of the roosters, and takes those actions immediately. Nobody gets to place all of their workers at once.

    • @goldboxmedia8071
      @goldboxmedia8071 Před 2 lety +1

      @@thedicehavespoken6234 okay so just to be clear… let’s say in a 2 player game. Player 1 places a worker , then player 2 places one, then player 1 places one, then player 2 (unless of course they choose to pass)

    • @thedicehavespoken6234
      @thedicehavespoken6234  Před 2 lety +2

      @@goldboxmedia8071 Yeah, that's correct. Again, the turn order is determined by the "wake up order" using the roosters. So in a 3+ player game, it rarely goes clockwise for placing workers. But each player will only place 1 worker at a time and then their opponents will all place workers or pass before they get to play a second.
