- The Rolling Stones are one of the greatest bands ever to emerge from the UK and they join The Beatles as one of the most influential bands ever. They burst onto the scene as the bad boys of rock with an exciting guitar driven song (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction a #1 pop hit in 1965 and have pretty much been publicly visible since then.
They racked up 41 Top 40 hits up to 1989 and have gone through some fallow periods to be written off and then they come back in spectacular fashion. "Miss You" became their 8th #1 single and they did it with song that incorporated the disco beat and a guitar riff that kept the respect of rock and rollers and had everyone dancing along.
Mick kept his ear to radio and was one of the first rockers to acknowledge the appeal of disco championing Shirley & Company's "Shame Shame Shame" that they actually considered recording until Jagger wrote "Hot Stuff" (not the Donna Summer song) that was inspired by the Shirley & Company hit.
"Miss You" was written after Jagger was jamming with Billy Preston in the studio and it was not conceived as a disco song. However, the members were aware of what was being played in the clubs and they incorporated that into the song with drummer Charlie Watts quoting "A lot of those songs like 'Miss You' on 'Some Girls' ... were heavily influenced by going to the discos. You can hear it in a lot of those four-to-the-floor and the Philadelphia-style drumming."
Bill Wyman tried working with the bass pattern that Preston had created during the Jagger jam session and visited many disco clubs to see how the bass was being used and finally discovered a riff that made the song and found that his creation was copied, most notably by Rod Stewart on "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy".
I finally figured out how to complete this remix and hope you enjoy this extra long version of "Miss You". - Hudba
RIP Charlie Watts. His drumming on this song was his masterpiece gift to the world.
Why do you want to rip him?
😂
@@Tk-ou9ec ? Too 🌽
While working with a local Atlanta Ga band, Mr Meaner, in the mid '90's, I had the opportunity to meet Charlie Watts during a concert in Sandy Springs, Ga.
We were the opening band for Blackfoot.
Charlie and I had a good conversation that night. A very humble man...
I was honored to have met him.
✌️
R.I.P. Mr. Watts - Gone But Never Ever Forgotten.
Bill's bass was pretty good, too. But, Charlie kills it on this song. Hard to believe that The Stones were criticized for "jumping on the disco bandwagon" with this song.
I remember one time in my youth... I had this song playing on repeat for what must have been HOURS... anyway, my mom - who is the biggest Keith fan and had introduced me to this music AND even took me to see them for my first concert - bursts into the room like "WOULD YOU PICK A DIFFERENT SONG?!" lol
Man I was jamming so hard I had no idea I'd been blasting the same song for hours lol
That"s hilarious!
🕊️🕊️ you're gone but not forgotten 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹😇🌹🙏😇🌹😇
My band🥁🎼🎸🎶🎼🎶And always will be ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Best year of our blessed earth 1978 A.D.
Oh cat there you go defining my whole summer of 78. Local arcade jukebox playing while making time with local honeys and the vacationers at the resort where I worked. I Miss You definitely brings the memories flooding back.
This needs to be a one hour long MONSTER MIX!!!!! 🎶 🎶
NO YOU BETTA DONT WERRRRK THIS MIX, HURT EM BOY.....YESSSSSS
Oh yeah I remember this song well.
Beautiful Memories..
Live Forever ♡
Thank You.
My favorite Stones song, loved this extra long remix. Not only does it have a disco influence, it's also pretty jazzy.
Awesome 👍😎. Take me back to some of the best years of my life!!!
Me too, Brenda! ❤️

Class
From the bottom of my heart, I can't begin to thank you enough, DJ Disco Cat, for sharing this forever memorable & forever cherished, timeless incredible hit song!! I fell deeply in love with this song forever from the very first time that I ever heard it back in 1978!! This song was made so magnificently!! It sounds absolutely fabulous!! It's absolutely perfect!! It touches the heart so deeply!! & I love & adore all of the great emotion that Mick Jagger put into singing this song & how incredibly he sang it, & all of the original, incredibly performed music in this song!! This ultimately successful song makes me so proud to have come from that time!!
This is AWESOME! Immediately took me back to the late 70s, when this song was all over the air waves! Thank you!
To my dear friend Stevie who is no longer on this plane of existence ,this song makes me think of you my guy and you know why I love you my friend always.
My Favorite Rolling Stones Song!
Awesome song by Mick and boys. Great bass line and Keith always comes up with incredible melodic guitar riffs.

Girls will come and go, they're like streetcars...ah, Mick! :D

My parents had all the stones albums in the 70s but only i played them , brilliant music, still play those albums and still love the stones vibe
Awesome Music 🙏 🎶 💯 🔝 👌 😎 👍
All Time My Favorite Song Friend Thank You🤝🤝🤝🌹🌹🌹
This was the rolling stones at their best.jan2022.
Absolutely brilliant.
Eternity !
My favorite Rolling Stones song! I like it the very first time I'd heard it!
what annoys me, is for so many decades, all i have ever heard was the radio versions of so many of the Stones songs and now, i get to hear the original length ones (except this one is a DJ extended remix) and not only this song, but so many others - it behooves me why the original length versions were nearly impossible to acquire before the turn of the 21st century.
My favorite
You are the man. I have been waiting since this song first came out for someone to put together all the recorded versions. (decades)Excellent job. Thanks very much. The perfect commuter driving song.
Wish for hef to come into my life
Jeez what a great version, brings back memories of late night summer parties in the late 70's.
magnificent. seriously.
Your the best mate, absolutely disco perfection 👍🏻❤️
Showwwww Brasil 🇧🇷👍🙌👏👏👏
Meus pêsames.
Escucho estamaravillosa cancion recorriendo el Pozuzo (Peru')
Digging this one.
I wish I had been old enough to have seen The Stones when they were climbing the superstar ladder. But, I got to see them when they had established themselves in the 70's. And I saw them recently when they did a show in my hometown. Still a great band. Feel sorry for the loss of Charlie Watts the drummer. But, damn, they still sound good. Glad I got to see them several weeks ago.💋 Always a pleasure DJDiscoCat to hear the latest songs you've adapted.
One of many great songs by them 💯💯💯
Always one of my favorite songs. I love the complexity of it, the guitars, the chorus... but the bass and drumming are genius. Takes me way back to my skateboarding days in the late 70,'s.
Most groovy bass riff of all time🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Vous êtes extraordinaires wow J'adore Merci beaucoup 🎶🌍🎵🗽
Reminds me of my x rip
This is my all-time favorite song by the Stones. Great remix as usual.
Thanks, Cat!!! ❤
Heartbreaking, R St's music is a way of expressing and sharing that deserves total respect
My favorite Stones song, now even better
My favorite STONES song !!!!
Ah, snap! You gone and did it now by prolonging the funky groove of this Stones classic in time for Keith's 78th birthday!
Siempre versátiles, esto es un claro ejemplo de ello, remix de rock rytm & blues y disco.
Mint thanks DJ disco cat soul man stoke on trent gazza
So good..
One of my favourite 12in versions. Made even longer by DJDiscoCat! Funny you mention "Hot Stuf" though not Donna Summer's song. I've always considered "Miss You" to be the best disco rock & roll song & "Hot Stuff" by Donna Summer the best rock & roll disco song. I hope you'll bless us with a longer version of that someday!
I’ve been looking for this version for a VERY LONG time. Had it back n the day & not many ppl knew of this version. I called my local radio station back n early 90’s asking if they could play it & dj at that told me he’d never heard it bfore. Clowning I said this was the 2nd rock artist I’d heard “rap” bfore rapping was popular w/ Blondie being the 1st !!! Lol 😎😎😎 But they’re just jamming this one out !!!! ❤️ it !!!
Great song.
Thank you very much
This is essential soul and r&b music no matter what someone else wants to say all you have to do is listen to it clearly
I call it blues goes disco
Super Remix y gracias por compartirlo.
제가 가장 사랑하는 노래~♥ 휴대폰 알람도 이 노래~♥
BONJOUR.
DJ disco Cat.
This was definitely a surprise 😮 when the Stones debuted it in '78, still then as now it provides best feelings about their music and their savvy applying skills that had me grinning from ear to ear as I enjoyed dancing to it. I admit I've played your mix just once but I promise it'll get further play as I get more time to enjoy and dance to it. This is the best musical gift I've gotten in a long time. Thank you, DJDiscoCat!
At last a rolling stones classic! Thank you, DJ! Could be "emotional rescue" for the next?
One of my favorites as a kid. My first two 8 tracks ever owned were, Rolling stones some girls, Rolling Stones greatest hits. Bought at Kmart in Los Angeles; back then Kmart had a lot of good vinyl and 8 tracks. DjdiscoCat you are awesome for doing these incredible mixes
Cool Version....Top!!!
One of the greatest rock bands of my day!
I remember the first time I heard this song. I walked into a club & the DJ was already playing it. The bass was fantastic, & when the vocals kicked in, I realized it was Mick because his voice is so unique. I couldn't believe it. The Stones had done a club song! Rockers were so outraged. You would hear rockers say that the Rolling Stones had sold out by doing disco. Of course it became a huge hit & eventually catapulted the 12" inch single into the spotlight. It had existed for some time before but this song made it a mainstream item that non club people would seek. There were articles about what a 12" mix was, in magazines, etc..
I loved that they were able to try something out of the box, got flack for it at the beginning, but basically, it still had that Rolling Stones signature sound & eventually, was embraced by many. Many rock bands & rock singers followed suit with their own take on Disco: Santana, The Kinks, Kiss, Queen ,ELO, Paul McCartney & Wings, Edgar Winter, Blondie, Beach Boys. Fans always want their faves to stay in a box, but really, how boring is that for a band to always stay in their lane. Disco never really died, it just morphed into Dance music.
Oh Dear Lord have merci 🦋 🐦🐦🐦 very significant that this audio found me😝I wish came true

Heard This Song At Skechers Last Month!
Absolutely fabulous! This is by far, my number one life band. 57 shows under the feet in 58 years; hung it up when the world lost Charlie. I looked, but didn't find, 'Emotional Rescue' here...but that doesn't mean you haven't done it! Would love to know!
I like it! Thanks
Thanks again DJ DiscoCat for this incredibly amazing masterpiece from the Rolling Stones
You have to make a mix of Dance pt.1!!! It'd be awesome
Awesome, rad man
New here. I'm loving it. 😄❤
Chills
I bought this record (the LP) back in a holidays at Punta del Este. Great work, as usual... Keep'em coming! The Style Council is just around the corner, a few years later...
Anybody interested needs to watch Mick Jagger Singing this very same song for a concert at the White House under the Obama administration! Absolutely absolutely outstanding, and they were all rocking. The stones amazing. This can be seen on CZcams. Mick Jagger at the White House, enjoy
Thanks!

Every time I hear this, I think of King Tee's great "cover" with "Diss You."
Marvelous re-edit one of my Stones favorites. I still have the 12 inch somewhere. Thanks!
