As difficult as the Tops is to navigate, Gammoroh is the real Labyrinth of Fallout New Vegas. Long deep red hallways and low lighting, random floors and rooms. Prostitutes and prisoners. Any time I step in that building, it feels like I've fallen down a rabbit hole.
and trying to find people is a freaking nightmare! >_
The Backrooms of New Vegas
That's why I don't do those quests much, or if I do, use a strategy guide
Its like the water temple from ocarina of time, you think you've found the way, but its not at all the way
I just played through KOTOR 2 (another Obsidian game headed by Avellone) for the first time this past week actually, and that game is a fever dream when it comes to navigating, even when compared to KOTOR 1 (made by OG Bio-Ware). Basically imagine a game where every world area and interior is as convoluted the Gammoroh... without fast traveling or quest markers. Not exaggerating lol. Brilliant game though.
I used to play this religiously; the last place I discovered was the hidden deathclaw area across the river, opposite of the legion camp. Wonder if there are any other little hidden gems still to be discovered like this one.
I just discovered that yesterday!
Did you see the armor?
place is called deathclaw promontory btw. and its a pretty well known area, i wonder if anybody has ever tried to explore the whole map yet.
@@JustAnotherHo Yeah, that's pretty much the reason why I went there after finding out about the power armor; for the longest time I thought doing Arcade's companion quest was the only way of getting it.
There's still some more of unmarked places. I think the fallen vertbird is one of them, but not rlly sure.
Its such cool a cool spot, and even has potential for it to have missions that start there, like a angry starlet swearing vengeance on someone who got her fired, but alas, we can only imagine.
I wonder if there's any cool mod quests that start there.
Modders: wRITE THAT DOWN!!!! WRITE THAT DOWN!!! ✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️
I hate the gomorrah casino and omerta family bunch of scumbags pushing drugs and hookers on people and conspiracy all the time , the white glove society is are too uppity, snobby and the cannibalism don't help either, but at the tops the chairmen are more cool feeling just letting people enjoy a simple good time with no strings attached and they have a nice restaurant/bar, theatre and swimming pool and has family friendly feel , and I can get a presidential suite and It gives me a reason to wear my fancy vera keys suit inside with everyone there , would of been cool to be a business manager for them like open up another casino hotel for the chairmen like at the abandoned bison Steve motel and renovate it and it has a roller coaster too lol
Ahh, yes a nice ascetic place with no notable loot, or NPCs. Why wouldn't I miss that?
Honestly amazed how good this looks for the effort.
It's funny, when you see these places in his videos it's like "oh wow that's super cool!" but when you come across one candidly you look around and wonder wtf was the point
I wandered around the Gomorrah outside area for like 10 minutes cause I was convinced there had to be at least *something* there
@@Patrick.Weightman there are two quest related characters there, not exactly nothing
aesthetic? ascetic means something way different 👀
@@maiastniki fucking autocorrect. Making me spell words I don't know.
I've literally never seen this and I usually am a person who HAS to know what is behind every door. With easily close to 1k hours spent on this game since its release I'm amazed I've never even seen this!
The Fisto's *'Please, assume the position'* quote instead of traditional Nelphi's *'Get f&/ked'* got me xD
You should cover the minefield between forlorn hope and Nelson. There’s a bunch of soldiers with limbs blown off who are still alive. It’s haunting
What?!
I thought that was only part of a cut content mod?
@@TheBrandonGame shiiii bruh I swear I saw it on xbox
@@MusicFella it used to be there but was removed in an update to save on memory when dead money was released. you aren’t crazy
If I recall right, the soldiers of Forlorn Hope would even mention the fact that the Legion loves to boobytrap dead or dying bodies, and so when I went down to try and help the soldiers I carefully made sure to disarm all the mines they were on.
Imma visit the pool and just relax
I'm honestly surprised how many people missed this
Same. Found this on my first play through.
I love places like this. Makes you feel moments of safety and comfort in a world as f*cked up as fallout’s.
so you say that after nuclear holocaust you feel safe seeing a pool... yeah right. Seems legit xD
exactly , I kinda get a weird feeling when I think about that to be honest
I have over 1000 hours into this game, and I missed this!! 😏😶
Same
@@David-ve5iq for Pete’s sake
I don’t want to know how many hours I have in this game and he’s shown me like fifty things I didn’t know including the secret ending
If you missed this there are probably a lot of more things you don’t know about
"there is no treasure or loot"
Uh, the pool, itself, is a 'treasure' thank you very much.
One of Th3Overseer's quest mods has a senator or something chilling by this pool.
I've played a lot of mods, and this is the only one that came to mind that uses this place.
In the hills west of sunset sarsaparilla hq, there's a cazador infested beer bootlegging shack with a sign in the basement advertising Strategic Nuclear Moose, a reference to the strongest beer in the world at the time NV was being made, BrewDog's Tactical Nuclear Penguin
You can also reload your save before you enter and reroll good weapons from the gun cabinet down there
There is something else in fallout new Vegas that I haven’t seen you cover. After you exterminate the deathclaws from quarry junction miners/workers will appear in the bar in Boulder City. The bartender will even comment on the fact that someone(aka the courier) cleared it out he even talks about how he doesn’t get much customers if you didn’t clear the junction
I just remember walking back there as a low level who had murdered their way through Vegas to get to yes man. I walked back there and just dragged the bodies over and propped em in the chairs. Complete sadist. Got all the way through Ceasars story just to kill him. Murdered everyone in the camp. Followed up with Lonesome Road dlc and bombed both the Legion and NCR.
I only discovered this on my last playthrough, and I've been playing for 10 years!
I found it by pure accident because i got lost during my first time at the tops
I remember being so shocked when I found this pool because it was my fourth playthrough with more than 200 hours and I’ve never seen anyone mentioning it’s existence
I thought this area was involved in the Nick & Ralph quest, the Omertas are skimming the pool chlorine to make a gas bomb to hit the strip during the second battle.
Fun Fact: If you plan on siding with the NCR, you don't actually have to kill Benny. Considering that 3 of the 4 ending require you to have the Platinum Chip meaning you have to kill Benny, the NCR is the only Faction that doesn't care whether you have it or not. As long as you can find a way to deal with Mr. House, then Benny can live his life thinking he got away with murder.
So can you progress through the story with NCR, to the point that you both destroy caesar, the bunker the platinum chip goes to & mr house
And then walk into the tops?
How does benny react? Will he still try to run to the caesar legion camp despite you already blowing everything up?
@@MadGameBoy That I don't know. It's a good thought.
While he does know that you're the one that's allowed into the Lucky 38, I'm not sure if he knows that you killed Caesar. Everyone else knows that someone killed Caesar, but they just don't know who, so I'm assuming he's on the same boat, and doesn't know, and so he won't mention it.
I just want to say that I really appreciate you using that Fisto voice line as your your outro for your New Vegas vids these days. It honestly gave me a genuine chuckle the first time I heard it.
He realized it helps with getting the vids circulated more when you don't have "GET FUCKED" at the end of each vid.
TK: Become PC.
I really enjoy these videos. It's amazing to me that I'm STILL learning new things about New Vegas all the time.
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a pool party...
After patrolling the Mojave, that water better be cold enough to match a nuclear winter
I’m one of the gifted few who found this without someone telling them
“Be sure to get some sun”
Bruh the sky is nothing BUT sun
"Please assume the position" is a prequel to "get fucked"
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear kill streak
Reminds me of getting home from school and plugging in Spyro the dragon just to splash around in the hub world lakes cause I didn’t understand the game 😭😭 I’d “go swimming” and just be having so much fun lmaooo
Dr michel comments on 10 SPECIAL stats at the start of the game
I recommend drinking from it so this pool will serve at least one purpose in its existence.
I found this on my first playthrough, but only because I was looking for the exit
I drank like half of this pool
I ALWAYS swim at The Tops…well except for my last play-through where I slaughtered all the chairman and was no longer welcome.
You dig us, baby. We're The Tops!
0:47
Well-played.
In Gommorah, the whole Courtyard is a secret pool. Even if you're not in the pools, if you crouch, you can drink.
After a long day of patrolling the Mojave I'd rather have a nuclear winter than a pool.
My friend and I joked around once with the idea of a quest mod requiring the courier to save the pool. The pool required a new filtration unit and also a water chip... Long story short, the quest would be long and have a pretty pitiful outcome.
What Was The Outcome
There is AIDS in the pool.
Pool's closed
500 hours and I had no clue this existed, wow
Never would of known had it not been for this video on my last playthrough I found the sewer system that takes you to every part of vegas ruins.
I tried to match the timing of me saying "Get fucked" to the outro sound, and was super surprised to hear something else
Great vid, I found this place a few runs back by random curiosity and wondered if it was even talked about at all.
Yet another thing I will be looking for on the next playthrough.
If I remember right, the pool was even rad free.
You're forced to see the pool in some endings for Dust.
Yeah, I wouldn't recommend dipping in the pool. There's a fricking skeleton in it.
If/when FNV ever gets remastered they should add a mimosa or a margarita to collect up here as a fun surprise
It will never get remastered
Wow, I've played over 1500 hours and never even knew this place existed
I've actually found this once by accident when I was wondering around the tops looking for stuff to steal after being banned from gambling, I was confused as to how I'd never been here before then forgot about it
Cresent canyon by Mojave outpost is overlooked a lot and kinda spooky if you run through it at night
I always end up at the pool in a playthrough, usually to sneak kill a gambler for a suave gambler suit because I like to wear that when I'm in Vegas. Getting all dressed up for the town, and all.
Didn't know about this. Thanks for the tip.
i remember stumbling into that place on my 10th or so playthrough in which i also had some mods installed and i thought it was some a random mod-location lol
Funnily enough Dust made me realize this place existed
Loving the new sign-off! 😄😄
The last place I found in my many hours in game was the Lakelurk Cove area across the lake near Cottonwood cove. Bottom right corner of the map
Found this when I was stealth murdering everyone in the tops. Was very annoying to pull off without people noticing
find me , at the tops top side.
I always do a 360 dive after Benny ends up in the carpet
literally thousands of hours, never knew this was here...
Oh..... I thought this was a commonly explored spot. I always went here to listen to the radio
I had zero idea this existed.
That place was a lifesaver in DUST.... an actual source of water? man...
I found this bc I followed that lady in the blue dress there, killed her bc I wanted to know what it was called and gave it to Veronica
but Veronica doesn't respond if you give her just any dress (except for formal wear), does she?
Obsidian be like: "Yeah the game doesn't work half the time but here's a pool area that the player never has to go to and there's nothing there."
The “rooftop courtyard”
Yeah
Rooftop
I accidently walked into here on my playthrough looking for bennys suite lol
I accidentally found it when I was on a quick save rampage
I've been there in my dreams for a decade.
I saw this when I was younger roaming around in the tops, I kept trying to use the diving board but it didn't work lmao but good times playing this game I still today
Finally!!! A new Vegas fun fact that I know
Fun fact: This cell is based on an older version of the strip.
Suggestion: There is a note which as of now seems to be undocumented on the internet at the house at Coyote Mines. You can only get it by pickpocketing it from a Legion soldier inside which explains the first thing.
I remember when I first found this never have been back since then gotta check it out
0:30 or just after a long day patrolling the Mojave makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
I was hoping to see a power armor wearing person cannonball into the pool at the end of the video :D
How long has Fisto been the ending sample? I usually cut it off by the time it gets there because hearing "Get Fucked" over and over becomes a bit much.
I've done the NCR ending 3 times, the legion ending 2 times, and the Mr House ending once, and even I didn't know about this.
Only found this because of the early Ringo goodspring quest bugging making them hostile. Made me mad so I decided to try a genocide run and found the pool while prowling around.
I have 1600 hours in this game, and I had no clue this was here.
This is where I first used the miss fortune perk
In DUST, you can enter the Tops throug this place, is a nightmare, but is necessary if you want to get the freedom ending.
I would always play the slots in the diner because I felt like it was one of my lucky spots. It was never really as lucky as I thought it was lol
Yes, Fisto... anything for you
I found this by accident and still forgot about it
The Tops was always my favorite vanilla player home.
I was playing nuka World and I found a set of power armour and the chest piece had BOS Elder paint job and I haven't seen any of your vids about it
Was it Elder or knight? Because you fight a knight in nuka world
@@3starperfectdeer233 just checked at my workshop its elder
I have actually been there. I just felt the urge to explore the Tops and stumbled on it. If there's anywhere you'd wanna be in Fallout, it'd probably be NV. There's clean water, a degree of law and order, and swimming pools. Although it comes at a terrible price: Cazadores.
I had to admit I screwed up the tops many playthroughs solely from shooting benny on sight and making a quick get away.
I always thought that i know everything about Fallout NV, but with your videos i realise i know nothing
I really do need to go look around the Tops more. It's a nice casino
I have more hours in New Vegas than most kids do in RUST and yet I never knew this.
I just discovered it yesterday after years and 2000+ hours of gameplay.
And i thought i found everything in the game.... ur videos are awesome
:D
Yeah I love this place
Stuff like this makes me wish there was some sort of massive overhaul mod for the casinos. As-is they have so many completely unused rooms and space in general that it's just sort of a waste.
Must've played at least 4 or 5 good playthroughs before i ever saw this lol man I forget how much fun it was playing that game
There's a metal box at the Great Khan hideout in Quarry junction that is impossible to loot without console commands, yet it's in plain sight. It's placed behind an invisible barrier.
Could it be a merchant box?
@@Petmyhead I'm pretty sure it's just a regular box that was accidentally placed beyond an invisible wall
Yeah I’d didn’t see this till my second play through just a few months ago.
