If u travel in BEST Buses , then you can use their CHALO CARD , just add some amount in it and instead of paying cash you can use this card just give this card to conductor, he will swipe it, that's it

They took my card, checked for my top-up in the system, and then loaded the balance on it. Once I did that the balance started reflecting correctly at the AFC gates.
Just a crucial information guys: I have got this card today from DN nagar metro station, and it took a hell lot of time to do the process, because when its your turn to submit the form and get the card, the system actually sends out an OTP to the mobile number mentioned in the form submitted by you, and most of the times, this OTP will take 10-15mins to arrive (only if you are having a lucky day it will take 1min to arrive :D). Yeah, even i experienced that at Gundavli, it took a long time, like 25 mins, eventually the person at the ticket counter directed me at the customer care counter where they finally processed it, but it was done.
Allowing an nfc based smartphone instead of a card is much more comfortable. I hope they also release an app that will allow travellers to just tap and pay using their smartphones.
Even currently you can tap your smartphone on AFC Gates, just that the QR code that the Ticketing App gives, needs to be displayed on your screen. Which allows NFC like operation even to Non NFC phones.
I have noticed people using only their phones to tap and pay in Singapore. Also any credit/debit card with pay wave( tap and pay) works on the metro gates. I think it's very easy to impliment these in all Mumbai lines considering they already use tap and pay for ncmc cards.

As my daughter is too young to be eligible for NCMC I thought I could get her a QR ticket using the TVM and my NCMC. However, the ticket window staff said that the TVM does not accept NCMC yet. So had to stand in line for her ticket. :( This was two days ago on 27th Jan.

They are at present loading the amount via cash only. Though SBI has mentioned several other modes of loading. Also the ticket amount that was deducted can never be understood, I mean we don't get any receipt at present related to it. Also balance cannot be known. All such things increase pressure on the ticket counter on the platform.
Think its easier if govt ties up with all banks and then customers can just use their owb debit card or credit card to tap in and tap out from metro station.

Informative video. Thank you Sir for your time and effort. I've got the BEST Chalo NCMC card from Yes Bank. It works on BEST Buses, but not on the Mumbai Metro system. It shows the error "invalid card" at the AFC gate even though there is enough Online and Offline balance. Chalo customer support do not have any clue. They always reply we will look into the issue. Please let us know how the above card works for you.
Mumbai metro staff at first were reluctant to integrate the Chalo NCMC card. I insisted and then they created a CSA (Customer Service Area) for non SBI/Axis Bank cards. Now the card works at all AFC gates of Metro 7/2A and gates with a Bank Card option on Metro 1.
4:35 Important to note that the BEST CHALO card shown in picture especially the last one of the 3 cards does not work in MMRDA Metro . I have tried there after seeing this video and blindly tried to enter. The card didn’t work and the security told me that this card never works in this metro. I was getting late and walked to cash counter 😔. I had specifically got the BEST Chalo card for Mumbai Metro as it’s easy to apply, recharge , home delivered and looks good :P . But please mention exclusively the plain chalo card wont work in Metro .
Bro that chalo card is Powered by Rupay only rupay prepaid cards works as NCMC Card Hope this Helps And Also the Mumbai One Card is cheap as the issuance charge is 0 rs whereas chalo card take rs 50 for issuance so the Mumbai One metro card is far better and it can also be use to withdraw cash but you have to visit SBI branch to do a full kyc.

No. NCMC is issued by taking documents of 1 person, and so, only 1 person is allowed at a time in metro. In case of buses, you can take multiple tickets, but not in case of metro

@@soham8208 If you have this metro's NCMC then no need to buy Chalo card seperately. NCMC cards also work in buses.

Today i get this SBI metro card from Dahisar line its wasn't available in versova line .And you will need you aadhar card and pan card .

The balance can be known will tapping the card on the gate. It will always show the amount deducted and amount left.

I have HDFC Rupay Platinum Debit Card. But Debit + Prepaid is not printed on it

Take the Chalo NCMC to Metro Station ticket counter and Ask the Executive to "Add Service" on the card. It'll be accepted at AFC gates then

Ye Card Bank se link nahi hoga, it's a "Prepaid Card". Some bank do issues "Debit + Prepaid" cards that are NCMC compatible.

Only authorised outlets (Stations in this case) have authority to validate KYC of the customer.

Across all Public transport modes in India who use Smart devices for ticketing. Including Metros, Buses and Trains.
