That’s where I got 75% of my fish. Awesome store and the owner Dave is a knowledgeable cool guy 👍 Highly recommend this store
LFS tours are the best! This really takes me back to my childhood 😊
My first tank was a small 18" that my late father gave me in about 1978, I remember the glass being held in the frame with putty. In 1980 I got an all silicone tank and was amazed that it all held together without leaking with no frame haha!
Yeah, without leaking for some years only....
always need a frame and a structure. if it didnt have a frame it was a terrarium tank for reptiles. water pushes out with 5 times more force than its volume.
What a cool store! Thanks!! I used to live in Duluth MN near Superior WI. Lots of cool motorcycle folks which was so cool. Be safe and thanks again.
Thank you!
Wow! What an incredible store. I love the view when you look down a row and see all those staggered metal tanks. I have so many vacations to take that are centered around visiting fish stores! 😂 I just have to find stuff for my husband to do in these locations!
Me too!
Green Bay and the entire East side of Wisconsin is a pretty easy place to find hundreds of things to do while visiting. Enjoy!
@@hpiguy I bet! Thanks! 😃
Advanced is an awesome store and the owner, Dave, has so much knowledge!
I saw vintage and I knew it would be Advanced Aquarium! I love that store.
Me too!
I've never seen tiger scats. Beautiful!
Those Tiger Scats are really cool! I wish i could have a school of 16 in a 100 gallon tank!
I know!!
My go to store!! Dave and crew are simply amazing!! Always have something new and different
Dave is full of fish knowledge!
store technically situated in Green Bay WI neighbor community Ashwaubenon. When we visited there a couple months ago they had the best clown rasboras I've ever ever seen, plus good sized Buttetfly Barbs (i must return for those), and a magnificent selection of several gorgeous Nothobranchius killifish.
Ya, always some surprising fish when we go there!
Those Lemon tetras were ridiculously yellow!
At least as far back as the early 1970s there weren't any fish stores that had the metal framed tanks in their stores because those tanks were in the five and dime stores, Woolworths, kresge's etc. and they were the competition. The hobby was very hot and in the early 70s there were new stores with sales like a 10 gallon tank for 99 cents and fish for 1 penny.
This the 2 nd time I've seen this store and it's is awesome thanks for sharing 💯💗✌️👍
What an awesome find, I just love those vintage fish tanks. Yes try to find different areas for us to explore, thank you.
Went there few weeks ago. Newbie to aquariums. Wanted to get few live plants for my two 5 gal betta tanks. Once I walked in, I forgot what I came for lol. Staff was very helpful said any plant was available in any tank. Definitely be going back soon thankfully only 30 min from there.
That’s so cool!
Some day I need to make the 4 hour drive up to Green Bay. I’ve also heard really good things about Fish Cave LLC in Appleton Wisconsin.
Cool store. I’m on the other side of WI. Someday I’ll have to make the trip.
It’s well worth it!
Wow that's a beautiful place. I wish we had a fish store like that here in are area.
Love this vintage LFS. Where I live we used to have an awesome LFS but the owner retired and closed. Now, sadly, all we have is two big box pet stores.
WOW! What an interesting store. LOVE those red cheek barbs, very striking! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for posting this and for actually making it to Green Bay! Just subscribed! Can;t believe I haven't before (I've watched your videos multiple times.) Great job showing the 'feel' of the store. I will be recommending this video to everyone! It isn't a large store but, wow! I can spend close to 2 hours there and I do often! Advanced Aquariums is mt home base. Dave and his staff will treat you like you want to be treated. All questions are welcome. They are there for you no matter what. I'm so glad both of you experienced this gem.
Thanks for being here! Ya, that store is outstanding!
Super nice. Thanks for the virtual visit. 🐠
Wow! Does YT give you watch hours if i run this on a loop all day? The decor! So many ideas for "decorating" tanks, LOVED the glass clam with the pearl. Must watch again and again... thank you!! ❤ 💕
Thank you! 😀
Looks like an amazing store! Lampeye congo tetras are a bucket list fish for me, so I was really happy to see those. Those crabs are awesome! Enjoyed the tour 🙂👍
it is so striking how crystal clear the water in those tanks is.
VERY cool! Thank you for sharing. I agree, those tiger scats are gorgeous fish. No wonder you'd like some of those critters! Have a great day! :)
Ooh, I was in Green Bay last weekend but they were already closed when I looked. Maybe next time!
Great store tour! Very cool fish.
That angle is beautiful!
I'm really really excited! I love vintage aquarium stuff
Love this place
Wow! Nice LFS!
This was awesome ! 💯🤙🏼❤️
Sometimes, they get some really nice killifish. I am hoping they get more of the rarer ones and try my luck in breeding them. With that said, Advanced Aquarium is my go to for fish and plants. I think I go there way to often, but I, also, don't want to be late to a fresh shipment only to miss out on cool stuff.
Cool store,I’d love to visit!
This is fantastic! I need to plan a road trip! 🤩
For sure!
I'd live in this store 😍😍
Amazing collection of fish 😅
Thanks great video
wow nice selection
Love that fish store! Thanks for showing us this store. Gina Hetlage
Super cool! Love the vintage metal tanks. Do you happen to know of anywhere in the Midwest that still sells them or suggestions on acquiring one?
I don’t but they are usually on eBay.
That's my store!
Packers Game?! Real Chicagoan father's raised their sons as Bears fans
Somehow I became a 49ers fan back in the 80s, but Bears are #2. Haha
😲 Cenepa red pencilfish
Advance aquarium is my go to if iam looking for exotics.
I can see why!
My lfs, great place. If i enter, spend too much time in there, that's why i rarely visit.
That’s were I shop!
Awesome!
Think now I have to find a reason to go up to Green Bay
What are the brown fish at 7:19?
Lol the stingray is like a puppy
What is your favorite kind of gourami everybody?
I like Pearl gouramis. They're peaceful enough to work out in a community aquarium.
What fish can live with a male betta?
I'm setting up a custom 75 gallon long aquarium. It's 5 ft long by 16 inches high by 18 inches wide. I'm planning on stocking it with Tanganyikan cichlids: 2 Altolamprologus Calvus, 4 Neolamprologus Leleupi, 2 Julidochromis Transcriptus, and 6 Neolamprologus Brichardi. And maybe three or four Dwarf Petricola. Does this sound like a good combination?
That’ll work!
In a few weeks I'm going up to Madison Wisconsin for a few days. Is Green Bay around that area? Because I would love to chat that place out.
It’s probably a couple hours north-east of there?
@PrimeTimeAquatics ya now Jason, I looked it up and it's 121 miles away so that will probably not happen 🥲😢😥
Two and a half or so.
Show Platys!
Where did they find all those vintage tanks ?
He collected them over many years!
Keep your ears and eyes open for old laboratories and schools, colleges, closing down. If they had a wildlife studies course or wildlife research lab, they would have these. I seen a video of someone urban exploring a old laboratory. Full to the walls with old industrial aquariums and bio tanks. Sadly most smashed by ignorant kids.
Ive seen lost of US fish shop videos over the years but Ima gonna be honest the ones we have here in Europe are way better looking and Germany has the best ones.
I’ll have to check some of them out sometime!
Nice
Are there any gouramis?
They had them too
@@PrimeTimeAquaticswhat kind?
Pricy but neat store
Hi
Great looking fish. But it's too bad they did not have a single fish from the awesome group of fish on the planet. Killifish!
They have some, but not much. The issue is that not to many people buy killifish. Once in a while, i will bring in my home bred killifish for credit. Usually a lot of his good stuff is hidden in the basement.
@azntactical4884 hopefully we can eventually change that. There's no reason in the world you should not be more common. I think there's some myths out there that need to be busted.
These are considered rare in the US? That’s kind of sad
Anyway nice vid as always.
Yes because pet stores and fish stores do not stock them. You have to go to specialist shops like this one to find those kinds.
So I have a new tank set up and I was wanting some fish for it. I want a Powder blue dwarf gourami, a dwarf gourami with stripes, dwarf red gold honey gourami, neon blue dwarf gourami or a flame dwarf gourami. I need only one so everyone please pick 1. The one that has the most votes i will get.
Thank you!
