I started looking at my setup and how I could consolidate what I carry to slim down and make everything simpler. You carry a ladder and table. I use a gorilla work platform which folds flat, doubles as my table and a platform that I can stand on when needed.
Welcome back, Glad everything is going well. We all need time to decompress. Somedays I miss my life in Minnesota but watching you in a full body snow suit makes me very happy I live in Northern California. No going back at this point. Keep up the good work, sounds like you've got a good plan laid out for you.
Haha thank you! This will be the last year you see me in a snow suit hopefully haha
In stead of 32oz bottles I cut that back to 16oz spray bottles. Some of my chemicals bothered my customers so I cut back to a more neutral smelling chemicals. I’m trying to streamline my detailing process.
Yay! You’re finally back!!!!! Welcome back!
Thank youuuu!! ❤
Loved this video! I am just starting my detail journey this year and am super excited about it. I have been cleaning my family's cars for years, and I decided to start doing it for others. You dont see too many woman detailers, so I'm excited I found you on CZcams! ❤
That is so awesome, so happy for you!! There aren’t too many of us!
I think maintenance details are great. They help keep me steady and provide stability during slow times. Would just recommend having a $100+ minimum. I usually tell people about small add ons or just having multiple vehicles at a time.
I agree! My min is $85 and I will only travel within 10 miles, so that’s worth it for me :)
“Work with what you got”. Great advice
Welcome back! Looking forward to your 2024 season.
Thank you!
welcome back, I was just recently wondering what was going on with you.I retired from my career job and started detailing part-time. I enjoy the work but don't need to do a ton of cars. I think a big factor is the area you service or live in. I live on Long Island and find there are a lot of people with the means to have their cars detailed. I also find a lot of people who don't want to spend $10 at a car wash. I agree with the earlier post regarding maintenance details. I have found a couple of customers with older cars that they cherish, 67 Mustang, 69 GTO, and a couple of Tesla owners that are very tuned into regular maintenance. These are prime customers. I also feel that some times you are chasing maintenance customers because their schedules get in the way. Like I said , I don't depend on detailing, so I can luckily be more independent.any way, looking forward to your videos.
Love the feedback, thanks for sharing! I have a few ladies who like to keep up on their interiors so I made interior maintenance packages along with interior and exterior…we’ll see what happens!
Welcome back! Excited to hear your adventures. 😊
Thank you!! 😊
@@DetailWithJessI'm just starting out also. I have heard doing maintenance program creates more steady income. I'm going to be doing it and see how it goes. Monthly,bi-monthly or quarterly. Debating on twice a year. I'm in a rural area also,so I understand what you mean about not doing it. Good luck!
Awesome to hear! I am only offering monthly and bi-monthly (being seasonal, any less than that just doesn’t make sense for me personally). We’ll see how it goes! Much luck to you!!!
@@DetailWithJess thank you! Exciting year to come!
I use to scrub tires with a brush now I use a drill brush which for me is faster, cleaner and easier. I then hit the tire with car pro Perl 1:1 spray bottle.
I like that idea!
I find that customers will give you the review most of the time when you ask them in person right after they inspect the vehicle. I send them a link thru text message to make it as easy as possible for them.
I do the same but so often they say they will but just never get around to it.
I personally don't like maintenance details. They always seem to start out good, but after maybe 6 months to a year, customers lifestyles will change (marriage, pets, kids), and they'll definitely affect the condition of the vehicle. You sorta become a car maid. They'll often cancel last minute, switch cars last minute. Take trips and the car is filthy and full of bugs, tree sap, road tar. It's supposed to be a quick monthly job that should take 1.5 to 2 hours tops, but many of mine are almost 3 hours. It's like they know your coming to clean the car every month, so there's no intent om their part to keep it clean. I stopped taking new maintenance customers, but kept the ones I had, and I regret ever taking them in the first place lol. I make a lot more money doing one car then doing 2 maintenance clients per day, plus my day is shorter. If you can get them done in less than 2 hours, and make at least $150 per car, it might work for you.
Thanks for sharing!! I honestly don’t see the value in them buuut I thought I’d be open to trying them. I being very particular in who I offer them to. My goal is to book one full detail and one maintenance in a day to add in extra weekly income, but we’ll see what happens! I absolutely understand what you are saying though and it makes total sense!
Welcome back to awful Connecticut LOL... I dont know if its cold enough for a hazmat suit but whatever works!
I prefer to call it a snow suit 🤣 but if you lived where I lived you’d be wearing one too haha
@@DetailWithJess Im in Central CT, I hate it here too LOL
