    I have a 2023 2SS A10 6.2L. My manual recommends Mobil1. 0w40 full synth with DexosR. You may only use 5w30 Dexos2 if you can’t get the other and it warns only as a short term remedy until you can get the proper oil with DexosR. You can usually order it through your local parts store. Or online. I get mine from American Muscle online and with a filter and 12 quarts it runs about 155.00 with shipping. I change my oil every 4000 mile or 3 months. My Camaro likes to show her ass to everything else that’s stock and naturally aspirated.

    Nice vid! Coincidently I changed my cars oil today. I let it get to 6%. Went with 5-30 dexos, since that’s what my manual asks for. Mine is 2017. Also I use regular ramps with 2*8 boards to clear the splitter. Definitely ghetto but it works!

    Overall a great Video. The only thing to add is to ALWAYS check that the old Oil Filter O-Ring is actually on the old Oil filter. Every so often these O-rings get stuck on the Rim and if you don't see it and install the new Filter over it, you will have a huge mess on your hands since it will not seal!

    • @Saldalaperformance
      @Saldalaperformance  Před rokem +1

      No, you can do anything from home as long as you have the tools and equipment. Oil change requires the most basic set of tools. Personally, I do the grand majority of the work myself.

      I don’t drive the car often, maybe 5000 miles a year or less. And I’ve changed the oil 3 times in that distance. So I believe I am good with that for my situation. For a daily driver, a maximum of 3000 miles between oil changes regardless of oil choice on e85. IMO

    Why did you use 0w40 instead of 5w30 ?

    • @Saldalaperformance
      @Saldalaperformance  Před rokem +1

      A few points: 1) LT1 equipped Camaros I think after a certain year, before 2019, had all their oil caps changed from 5w30 to 0w40. 2) the manual says you can use 5w30 if not being driven aggressively. But if you’re tracking the car to use 0w40. 3) some track guys are using even heavier oil due to increased track temps. I believe they are using 50 weight oil.
