A big help to all of this is to hang your clothes in your closet or in your drawers BY COLOR. you will quickly see what you wear most and whether, for example, you actually own anything that qualifies as secondary or complementary colors.

By chance I combined my dark blue denims with dark blue Blazer, Shoes and neckless, combining all this with my corall coloured blouse this morning. Looks great!
You encouraged me to. use complementary colours! I like the way how a small amount of an opposite colour makes the outfit so more dynamic!

Try oranges and cognacs with teal. It is big in Italy this year.

When you spoke about the purple shirt and yellow trousers, I think the bluish/purple might be “periwinkle!” I only know this because a friend pinpointed this color our to me, when shopping. 💕
Plus the stitching on most denim is orange!

I'm an artist and well schooled in color theory. Great video. Just to add. You can take complimentary colors and use the toned down version of one or both of them. Example Denim blue with rust. Khaki green with a wine or berry color.

10:59 another thing here is… say you have a *brown* bag… browns can have different color tones, like leaning towards burgundy or leaning towards an orange for example… so a brown bag that is lore orange leaning would probably look great with this outfit where another brown might look hideous or just plain with no pop.

I love all of your color videos! I have been doing a version of this as i love contrasts and accents, but I see i could do more! Since ditching hair dye and going naturally gray/salt and pepper, i am more careful about color around my face. I add accent colors to help, plus lip color helps! I look forward to seeing more videos, I've subscribed! I love your style.
Same here! I’m really paying attention now that my hair is white. She’s a wonderful educator!! I’ve never been excited about putting together an outfit but she has me feeling more confident in doing so even!
I like complementary color schemes, but I create them only with the muted, light colors I wear. This is much easier because all light colors have plenty of white in common, and all muted tones have a hint of black in common; muted or soft colors have pale gray in them, in other words. I love pinks and green together, especially. A soft pink, or coral for those with warmer coloring, always looks good with khaki green, a favorite Soft neutral of mine. So long as it doesn’t approach “Christmassy”, many reds and greens work together, if in the same undertone, either cool or warm. I use color in my home decor, which I love, as well as in my wardrobe. My favorite decorated room ever, is an English one in cooler reds/pinks and soft greens, it’s lovely.
