A theory mentioned in the show about Cal is that he was a child, inherently innocent and good because he was too young to have darkness to forgive, and that he had been sick with a deadly illness for most of his life, making him closer to the Divine Consciousness (DC) than anyone else on flight 828. The combination of both situations made his connection to the DC stronger, plus he was a very imaginative child who was used to acting on instinct vs the adults who doubted themselves a lot.
My own supplimental theory is Olive's connection to Cal while he was in the DC made her better at deciphering the Callings because she kept the faith that Cal was still alive. She put the work in to learn the mythology, but she was given the card from the Tarot deck while Cal was GONE as a gift from the DC for believing and as a hint to her about her part in all this later.
I LOVE THIS SHOW!! I think I watched this show 4 times now. It will never get old for me.
Criminally underrated channel. The best video on Manifest, hands down.
If they explored more with Al-Zuras, like if he saw the plane back then, they maybe could have seen his memories in the DC and helped with how to survive the Death Date (assuming he did with his).
Great vid
Good video. I liked
You touched on something else that I've been curious about.
The government admitted to having had the ark shard for years. It was inactive until Saanvi started testing it. The tale fin blipped out to the ocean after Saanvi killed the major. The plagues happened at the same time that Angelina was misusing her sapphire.
This makes me wonder if the show was using science as a misdirection. The audience is looking for the evil "big brother." And so we saw what we wanted. All the while, was it actually rebellious passengers who were unknowingly responsible for the world's woes?
A good example for the callings would be a math teacher having reminders of how to do the formula to solve the problem on the whiteboard an you can choose to use the little reminders
Thanks for touching on a theory that I had about this show after watching the finale.
I suspect that the passengers, like Cal, may have chosen to come back from the glow without their memories. As they all went into it together, they all might have had to come out together. Thus explaining their group death date.
Because of what 2018 Zeke said about glow, I think that the "callings" aren't callings at all. I think that they are likely forgotten memories of events that were witnessed or experienced in those 5 (missing) years. The more they make the available "moral" choices, the more their minds open. Perhaps this is why Michaela (the Joan of Ark of of the group) is able to connect with Zeke in the glow. Likewise, Cal's purity may be the reason he's the grail of the group.
This series made me BALL tears 😭
Then what caused the plane crash in the first place? It wasn't a natural storm?
It's not everyone's cup of tea but the ending wasn't the first time a stunt like that was pulled in fiction. Ever heard of Jumanji?
You keep saying the DC rewound time. I don't think that is what happened. You are thinking of time on a linear plane. Rather think of it as they went through a door that took them to a certain point in time. Or see it as they never really went through any of the things that we saw time wise. In "real" time the plane flew exactly how it was supposed to so the 11 years of the show were more like a shared hallucination for the passengers. The events we saw will never happen. Thus, no paradox.
Great show,great actors,writing,directing!!
Meh show, mostly bad actors, terrible writing...
@@dsgrbrowne1 says you from the peanut gallery
Great show but honestly half the actors weren't very convincing

I loved this show….
2nd
Saying it did a better job than lost is an overstatement.Lost had better mysteries, character development and it also gave answers maybe about the same or better caliber than Manifest, you said it yourself in this video, you had to look for them.Dont get me wrong manifest was an ok show but nothing like Lost, production wise, acting wise or mystery wise
Oh yeah, Lost is definitely a higher quality show. But I do think Manifest did a better job at paying off its initial mysteries. Lost gives more answers than people give it credit for, but ultimately I found the answers at ending of Manifest a lot more satisfying. If you want more of my thoughts on Lost, I have a video on it as well (although it’s pretty old and rough around the edges).
Why even bother creating the mysteries when the answer to everything after four sesaons is GOD
stopped watching when it got biblical.
Yeah for the first few episodes I had high expectations for this show. Then it quickly devolved into nothing but that old evil demi-urge from the old testament playing cruel games with it's little human tinker toys again. Disappointing. And lazy.
The show is amazing- are you that much of an atheist to just ignore that part and enjoy the masterpiece- the only thing that’s lazy and disappointing it you ❤❤ watching a show that mentions religion doesn’t make u less of an atheist or non religious person 😂 y’all com up with wild stuff
@@kalysetheminiartist I'm not at all an atheist, though I do find a lot of them more honest and generous than most religious people.
LOST did the mystery box, serialized drama first and best. It has never been improved upon by any show. Manifest was interesting, but stay in your lane.
