You’re speeding down a lonely highway surrounded by rugged desert terrain. The clouds rumble and flash. Ominous. Suddenly, a leafless tree appears beside the road. Moments later, a spectacular lightning bolt strikes the tree - but instead of destroying it, the blast of electricity transforms the dead tree, bringing the bare oak back to vibrant life. No, this isn’t an episode of The Twilight Zone - it’s the dramatic logo for Jerry Bruckheimer Films.
But no exploration of Bruckheimer’s tremendous career or his indelible logo is complete without the inclusion of Don Simpson. This extraordinary partnership resulted in massive successes like Flashdance, Beverly Hills Cop, and Top Gun.
On the surface, they seemed like an odd pair. Bruckheimer was quiet and serious, downright shy, preferring to avoid the spotlight. Simpson loved the camera, at one point even taking an ill-advised stab at acting. He was boisterous and flamboyant, a veritable tornado of hedonistic - and even fatal - vices. If you sat down to create the quintessential money-driven, cocaine-addicted ‘80s movie producer, you would end up inventing Don Simpson. But the two men were united in one singular vision. Perhaps no other filmmakers are more responsible for ushering in “the modern Hollywood blockbuster.”
We’re speeding down the road to the epic story behind Jerry Bruckheimer’s logo - a road filled with triumphs, tragedies, and the occasional fireball.

You deserve many more views than 911 as of this writing. I had a chance to interview Jerry Bruckheimer some 20+ years ago and asked him about the tree lightning logo. And that is what he told me as you described it in the video.

Jerry Brookhimer also revived the first name of the company before Don Simpson died for other flims like Bad Boys 4 Life. He also did the CSI TV series with CBS Studios (Fromerly CBS Paramount Television and Paramount Television) The tree logo that Jerry Brookhimer still used to this day is the best logo that is ever seen.

In 1975, Jerry Bruckheimer has formed JB Films. His first film as an indie producer was the Oscar nominated "Farewell, My Lovely" for
Avco Embassy Pictures under the guidance of Norman Lear, Robert Rehme, Alan Horn and first timers Martin Shafer & Andrew Scheinman.

I have an idea, can you make a video about the story behind the flash variant of the Warner Bros. logo, similar to what you did with the universal 75th anniversary video?
