Love this! Made one last year. This year's is going to say "House isn't haunted. The kids are home!"
Great idea I love that quote
I found you last week and I just love your channel. I love your ideas with cans, but not just crafts with cans - everything you come up with. Thank you for answering my comments, too. You're one nice lady to make time to reach out. Sincerely, Evy

Girl, you were about two years ahead of time, with this project. I am not surprised, since you are so creative. Everyone is, all of a sudden, doing these cans, now. They are adorable, but it took a while to catch on. 🤷 Your can turned out beautiful.

Omg @ the amount of Karen's in the comments that are deeply offended by the text 🙄🤦♀️ Be grateful for the tutorial and get on with your day, it's not that hard. This type of humor isn't for everyone and that's ok, no need to write a wall of text about how this deeply traumatized you LOL
PS: this is such a cute project! Thanks for the tutorial 🥰
Glad youEnjoy thanks for
What a fantastic fun up cycle do you Secure the sealed end with anything or is it just folded back? Thank you for sharing is wonderful idea 🤔🥰🤗
Thanks for watching Catherine 🌸 I didn’t seal because I just put faux flowers in it but definitely could seal with a silicone
Just wanted to let you know that you are my favorite up cycler/motivator for my projects. Thank you
Thanks for watching ! Glad you are enjoying and I appreciate the compliment Michelle
This is an awesome up cycle, and love the phrase! 😁
Thanks for watching
Great idea I love it I made outdoor candle holders and hung them from shepherd's hook out of soup cans and I would freeze before I cut the bottoms off I would freeze water in the soup cans and to punch out a design with a nail or an upholstery tack or s nail you know large/small depending on your design 💐this project reminds me of that is very cute ❤️ your channel👑
Thanks for watching!! I am actually in the process of filming a video using that method!!! Excited to share 🎃
I have a big can of empty coffee one to do and a bushes bean too.ive made the different size small ones
So much fun! ❤️
Super cute. Now I know what to do with the big crushed tomato can. Thanks 😁
Perfect 👍 glad to inspire
Don’t need a vice...I just stood on it!

Love the quote on the can
Thanks Pennie
Too cute!
It is isn’t it 🌸 thanks for watching
Where do you buy your florals from? They are beautiful!
Thanks for watching 🌸 value village for the win on those ones❤️
Amazing . What if we don’t have vice what’s the alternate for pressing the tin
Thanks for watching ❤️ you could try and mould with you hands just make sure you were gloves
that was awesome. I wish I have large tin cans. So where did you get yours?
Great tutorial....you sure did take this to the next and best level! Awesome!
Thanks for watching Tracy

Nice
Thanks for watching ! Glad you enjoyed Anabel
@@OurUpcycledLife your welcome
Looks amazing. Did you use a laser printer? Inkjet would smudge when wet.
I used a ink jet!
Really Nice. I really love this idea! Did you print this with laser ink? Will permanent vinyl be as effective?
Yes this was done with a laser jet but def you could use permanent vinyl ! Thanks for watching
@@OurUpcycledLife can I use an inkjet printer?
Do you think this can be used as a planter outside if I put a coffee filter inside to avoid the soil to go through the bottom?
If you seal it with outdoor sealer it should be good! Thanks for watching
Diedre, do I need a special drill bit for drilling holes for the handles ? Thanks…
I just used a regular wood drill and it worked great !
Hi, thanks for your videos. I tried this text transfer technique on a wood box, and it works fine but.... some of the text lifted off (kind of like it did here on your can). I guess if you want something like that it perfectly fine, it gives it an aged look, but what if I don't want that to happen on my text?
Then I would use a cricut to do the lettering
New subscriber
Thanks so much for following along 🌼 Hope you find some good content ♥️
I’m brand new at this and just found your channel! A newbie question… what kind of paper are your graphics on? I love this idea but don’t know where to start. Thank you!!
Start by watching some more videos
My graphics are all done on regular computer paper and I do have all kinds of videos on my channel explaining the technique more in depth if you want to check those out
I have a can that is about 32 ounces, so much smaller, but I still want to do something similar.
Thanks for watching watching enjoyed
Fantastic--Looks like something out of a boutique. I'm going to try this. Does the word transfer require special paper? Or is it just regular printing paper?
Just ordinary paper! 🌸 Glad you liked it ♥️
Do you use ink jet or laser printer?
I use a laser jet printer for all my projects
Do you use a lazer printer to do this process?
Yes I do !
is there an easy way of opening a can on the bottom that does have a ridge???? I have made a couple little hangers using large dogfood cans. They turned out really cute but getting the bottom off is very difficult
Yes some can be difficult . My can opener is really great for making a smooth edge. Thanks for watching Brenda
Can you provide info on how you make graphics
I use pic monkey to make all my graphics. It is a paid subscription but well worth it for me as I use it everyday. I'm sure there are free programs out there you can use or even Word that you could create graphics with ♥️
Take both hands and gently compress the end of the tin can as if performing CPR on your loved one..Ok now I get it.
I wanted to try this I have a vise in my garage but some cans you can't cut the bottom any tricks
Yes same have a bottom you cant remove! You will have to keep a eye out for the others
@@OurUpcycledLife thank you 😊
What size can did you use?
This was a very large pizza sauce can. Thanks for watching Corine !
Looking on how to make this, would have appreciated just a welcome sign.
This is a fun video you will enjoy on other tin can ideas: czcams.com/video/khiFKoC49vw/video.html
What size can are you using please ??
This was a big pizza sauce Can from our local pizzeria
Question when I did it my letters peeled off with the paper and the ink got everywhere, what did i do wrong?
Did you use a laser jet printer and leave overnight?
@@OurUpcycledLife I did regular printer and I did leave overnight
@@tiffanysizemore2150 I find this project works best with a laser printer
Can you use vinyl on can
Yes, you sure can
Is farmhouse style all you do? Always transfers too?
Lots of other great content on my channel! Thanks for watching
Where do you get the transfers from please can you buy them
www.etsy.com/ca/shop/OurUpcycledLife
What size can you got
Pizza sauce can
Is the graphic used on this project in your Etsy store?
I have this one : etsy.me/3rct0YF
How can you flatten the can without a vice?
You can use your hands and a rubber mallet
Why did you paint it black first?
It gives it more of a rustic feel . Thanks for watching !
I’ve made 4 of these. After putting the holes in the sides of the cans and adding the jute for hanging I noticed that they will not hang properly. They tend to lean in at the bottom. The hang beautifully from a free hook but to put them on a wall on a hook it doesn’t seem to work for me. Any ideas on how to get them to hang right?
Hmmm! I haven't had that problem but you could glue a little block of wood on the back to prevent that! Thanks for watching Gail
what is the bed you are working in? it looks familiar yet i cant place it.
not actually sure what it used to be but a big metal table that works perfect for painting in ❤️
@@OurUpcycledLife Shoot, we had one in our back yard for a long time, i can remember touching it when i was a kid, back in the 50's, lol. Funny. hmmm maybe a trench box, ill have to look that up now instead of cleaning ;)
What if you have not got a vise
You can use your hands and a rubber mallet! Thanks for watching Carol
And if dont have a vice machine???
You can mold with hands (wear gloves) or a pair of pliers. Thanks for watching Tonya
I bought an expensive mallet at Dollar Tree.
Thanks for watching
Inexpensive, not expensive. 1.25 to be precise. Lol! So sorry.
Love the Graphic!!! So happy to see someone with a sense of humor in today's world. Enjoy watching you & get great ideas & learn alot. I can relate to, "Welcome to the Shit Show". It can mean anything the person making it, wants it to. CUTE, CUTE, CUTE!!! Thanks & keep that sense of humor...
Thanks I appreciate it! Have a great day :)
Nice Project!!!
Questions: Is That A Large Can e.g. Coffee Can? What's A 'Shit Show' ? I Really Don't Know. TYIA!!! New To Your Site, And Subscribed...Yeah!!!
😊😍
Thanks for following along ❤️ I appreciate it 🌸 it is a large pizza sauce can
Can you use a smaller can lol it is only me
You sure can! Thanks for watching
does that say what I think it says😢
If we are to be responsible and to use The Choice of good words words why use this particular expression to spread all over. The idea is gorgeous and I planned to use it I lost the directions from my last last video tour yo tour and I'm looking for new directions directions but found this.
Do you really think everyone has a vise. Not exactly doable with things on hand.
I do think that what you made was cute, but I feel that what you chose to post on the tin can flower holder was offensive. Even if I had a shit show going on at, or in my home, it really is nothing to brag about or post. I'm not trying to give you a bad time. I was really dumbfounded when I read up close what the bottom of the can actually said. You have a right to post what you want, but having never watched your channel before, you really caught me off guard. Sorry,,, but not the way I wanted to end my Christmas evening! Won't be watching you again!
Nice upcycle till you put s@#$ show on it
😊😅😂 I love this!
Thanks 😊
I love your crafting videos but I must ask why would you want to memorialize such a crass phrase for home decor? The vast majority of North Americans are so incredibly blessed with abundance, peace and security. I’d love to celebrate that
I must ask if you realize YOU can put whatever YOU want on the one YOU make?
Its a cool idea but I have to tell you I had to look three times to make sure I was seeing the writing on the project correctly. In my opinion that is not a cool saying at all. Why do you have to use that kind of word ( the s***) on anything???? Its a horrible word. Really a turn off. Don't think your channel is for me. Unsubscribing.
Why make such a beautiful project and put such a nasty stupid saying on it. Why not something that blesses instead of tears down?
this is such a cute project, just love the can but the saying is so offensive, why would anyone put a curse word on their home to welcome folks?? this is not christian like...and it's not a bit funny to me...disgusting...why ruin such a cute item with ugly words...so childish...please think of this next time...
