    I love how in the episode Ben Stone openly speaks about his contempt for her reporting style and that he doesn't even like her. Yet regardless of his personal feelings he's still willing to show her compassion, that he wants to help her get justice and that he's doing everything in his power to ensure it happens. Because she was wronged and she deserves some sort of justice

    Loved Paul Robinette. EDIT: i disliked Ben Stone bc *he was a "close talker"* , lol. my favorite DA was McCoy, (loved the ep. where he & the judge w/ Dementia talked about Adam's sandwiches :,s) followed by..Branch, as weird as that is. Even as Thompson was an IRL GOP politician, Branch's shared qualities & southern colloquialisms always made me chuckle, (and often google, {kudzu?😂} lol) & apart from firing Serena Sutherlyn, i loved that he would do the right thing when it came to corrupt judges, like tracking down a judge at a sushi restaurant.😂😂 At least Paul was brought back as a defense atty. He & Dworkin gave me life! ✌💗

      Never cared for Robinette. He was too much of a follower, a "yes man" who never had any thoughts or ideas of his own. Stone was more of a finesse prosecutor, while McCoy was a hard hitter, in your face ADA. Out of all of them, McCoy was my favorite. Followed by Carmichael (Angie Harmon).

      I LOVE Ben Stone! About three years ago, I started re-watching Law & Order from the beginning. I kind of had been telling myself all these years that there was no one before McCoy and Briscoe, but when I found out about Ben. He is amazing! He is like a softer Jack who always believed in doing the right thing. I kind of wish that he lasted longer (I can't believe I'm saying this), and Dick Wolf really liked him and wanted him to, but there was a lot of controversy at the time. I still love Jack more though.

    The thing is, nowadays a rape victim really might as well not say anything because cops really don't care enough and when rapists are prosecuted they're just let off with a slap on the wrist.

    • @user-us9mk1de9m
      @user-us9mk1de9m Před 4 lety +21

      @Lizzie Allen and out of all the rapists less than 10% of them face any consequences. You wanna know the reason why it happens? Because half of all rapes never get reported and because the people that do report end up being ignored or blamed. In my country a 20 year old student was raped and the perpetrator recorded it. She went to the police but they ignored her. The guy that raped her bragged to his friends about it and a few months later she gets raped again by 2 other guys. This time she said that she'll take them to the cops so they beat her with a clothing iron. They then threw her from a cliff to the sea while she was still alive and let her drown. They both got 25 years for murder but i can guarantee you that if they hadn't killed her they would have walked free or with a slap on the wrist.

    Lovely, how they throw all the responsibility on the victim. We cannot do this, we cannot do that. Please don't expect us to do our jobs; that might require effort. They're supposed to be prosecutors for F-s sake. Instead, they're acting like legal advisors to the victim, who has to fight the battle herself.

    • @PrincessAnime172
      @PrincessAnime172 Před 2 lety +3

      I’m not a prosecutor, but key witnesses are needed for an actual conviction. It sucks they had to make her take the stand but there wouldn’t be an actual case if they didn’t. The point of a court case is a literal debate; whether the prosecutor can point out the wrong done in the case or the lawyer can counter claim if there was even a point made. Witness are vital, since you can hear reports made about objects however having a person relay their experience, emotions felt in the moment it paints a clearer picture. But it’s also a double edge sword as it can bring back trauma from the experience. I don’t think Stone wanted to put her on the stand but he had no other option if he wanted to get Justice for her and put her attackers away.

      Those who get clean full respect to because it's not easy. Not just giving up the drugs itself but then the reality of what they did while in that place and coming to terms with it can be a long process.

      I think the episode adresses the issue of prejudice againt the victim: If you're well behaved you don't deserve what was done to you, whereas if you're not so well behaved... another story goes.
      I think that is what se is trying to avoid. The prosecution is preparing her because the defense will use that sort of prejudice to their advantage.
