How to make a bread box - with tambour roll top lid .

- Using Hardwood off cuts , I thought they would be an excellent choice to make a breadbox,,, not just any breadbox , but one with a tambour roll top lid & drawer on top.
After sketching several designs with various measurements I finally came up with one I liked.
The Core of the build was Mortise & Tenon joints.
The most critical component was the inside (2) side panels where the runner tracks for the tambour lid were to be cut ! both tracks needed to be identical .
The natural oil on the finish radiated a visual warmth in the kitchen setting. - Sport

Nice video, how tight can you make the curve for thr roll up to work ????
Thanks,, I cut my strips @ 20mm X 6 mm to form my curve (roll up) .. One would ''assume'' halving the strips-say 10mm X 3-4 mm to enable for a tighter curve.

9 mm Straight Bit 👍
Try the rounded side of the router against the guide next time, keeps it consistent regardless of the angle you hold it at

I believe here in Australia , you can become a mature age apprentice up till your mid 20's ? .... when you mention joinery , are you wanting Carpentry / Woodworking / or Cabinet Making... follow your heart ! start slow ! always have options. ....my CZcams channel is only a weekend hobby , cheers !
