Props to the rider for staying on, but there was a HUGE amount of pressure on the horse's face. Plus the bit is a Cheltenham gag, meaning that it's not just the horse's mouth that is hurt, it is the horse's poll also. I get that sometimes it's hard to control what you are doing (especially when you're falling) but there are some situations where it is better to fall off.
