I had asthmatic symptoms, basicly unstopable cough. My doc did recommend me this even tho I was never diagnosed with asthma. I had a flu and after flu I could not get rid of the itchy cough for like a month. I did use 5mg Montelukast a day for 10 days and the cough was gone for ever. It is a medicine for asthmatic patients, but as well it can help with unstopable cough when You have been coughing so much Your throat is so sensitive You cant stop coughing. It just calms down Your muscles around chest and finally You can rest. The only side symptom I expierenced it made me a bit sleepy but not too much. Great drug all in all.
Montelukast has been great for my seasonal allergies which also has been good for controlling my asthma. BUT, one dose and I get irritable the ff. day. And this is after being groggy or just the feeling of lack of energy the moment the effect hits. But hey, I'd take the side-effects over being stricken with breathing problems. I just make sure to warn my wife that I took montelukast so she knows that when I'm not my usual self, it's the meds.
I took this medication at 5 pm everyday and i would run 3 miles in the morning 9am sharpi felt like a race horse i never had to use an inhaler once even when i accidentally inhaled grill smoke i never had any symptoms i stayed hydrated everyday and my diet consisted of no bad carbs or sugars or fattys this stuff worked for me honestly its the best thing ive ever had inhalers make me feel shaky and out of it but i just take literally 1 pill a day at 5pm and im good to go

Do you have a video about prednisone? I've been using it for asthma inconsistently for 20 year's. My doctor recently gave me a 3 week supply of montelukast at 10mg. I now have leg pain when I use my rescue inhaler and I think it's the long term use of prednisone therefore I'm worried about this drug. Sorry, I know I asked a few questions.

I take mine with Xyzal and Pepcid at night, cut my Flovent inhaler to half. I take a methylated B complex each day to avoid any mood issues. LOVE IT.

I read up on symptoms and yes it is a symptom. It’s a rare one but it is most defiantly one. You NEED to take this up with your doctor.

There is about a 2% chance montelukast can raise liver enzymes. She may want to speak with her Doctor.

I’ve had to use this medication for most of my life.
