Sadly, Spiral's production pieces have 20-30% softer details and paint compared to their razor sharp prototypes. Both X-plus and Prime 1 at least maintain their quality.
It's something they can work towards for sure! This particular figure lost some of its details making the journey from resin to vinyl. But you're right, some of the Xplus looks as sharp as resin. Ancient trade secret I suppose.
Yeah Vlad is a talented sculptor. It would be nice to see if they can improve the quality to capture the details. They seem really receptive to constructive criticism so I have faith it will improve.
Would be nice to see a comparison with Prime 1 diorama 👍
That's a future video with ALL the 2019 Godzillas all lined up. I'm sort of waiting on the Atomic Charged version but if it doesn't get here soon I'll go ahead and finish it up. Prime 1 - Spiral - Xplus - NECA - Hiya - SH Monster Arts - Bandai battle royal.

Thanks for the review. The more i see of this guy, the more i want it. Was hoping to get the atomic charged version but it looks to be completely sold out. The standard version seems to be avaiable but its an expensive piece to settle on the one you didnt prefer. Any reason why you didnt choose the atomic charged version?
I'm actually expecting the Atomic Charged version to show up any day now. I was informed they were both shipping out but I only received this one figure so far. Hopefully it isn't lost in the post. When/if it arrives I'll be sure to do a follow up Atomic Charge review.

Love your videos! Only suggestion is uploading in 4K because the current quality really loses the details on the statues. Looks very blurry on a big screen TV.
Is it the whole video or just certain shots. Some of the close angles I digitally zoomed and used a stabilization process that can degrade the detail if over used. Also, I don't currently have 4k equipment but I'll keep that advice in my back pocket!
The super close shots are good. But generally, the rest of the video is pretty blurry.
@@gamingwithdummies3960 Thanks for pointing that out. Could you do me a favor and check out a couple of my other videos and see if they have the same appearance to you? I haven't heard any complaints before and I want to make sure it's not something isolated to this video.

I love everything about it except the zebra stripes on the paint. Just throws me off a bit.
Oh I think I love the paint most of all. (It feels more like the desert emergence scene from the Monarch show!) I also dig the (slightly) different pose. That's interesting though. Would you mind pointing out to me where you are seeing Zebra Stripes though? Is it the side of the neck area? Down his tail?

Hey man, with the 2019 I needed at least 1 of every movie accurate rendition so that I could make an end all be all comparison video! (Still waiting on the Atomic Charged version! I'd have thought it would have arrived with the standard.)

@@leonsmith3030 HARD question. But I have no illusions. Everything has a price and if the offer is great, I'd sell any one of them. Many of the 2019-21's will be going to new homes soon. Including two of the Xplus Gigantics! I just don't need that many of the same character, ya know? But to answer your question (sorta) the P1 Gigantic Heat Ray and the SS Burning G would likely be some of the very last to go.
I want this figure so bad but it’s $900 on BBTS and it would be the most expensive one I’ve purchased ever, even more expensive than my entire current collection. 😢 I don’t know if I should get it, but I’ve always wanted a Spiral Studio figure.
Spiral is coming out with a much smaller (27cm scale) series that will have most figures coming in under $200. Right now the one they have available for preorder is the Evolved Godzilla from GxK. The bigger figures are crazy expensive but relative to other statues of their size in the industry. I started my higher end collection by selling off old vintage video games and toys from childhood. I'll be selling off a good portion of my collection soon. Unfortunately the prices won't be lower than I paid for them retail. But there will be some rare pieces up for grabs.

@@jessethompson9087 I'm sorry but you have to be more specific because there are Three different Prime 1 Godzilla 2019's, two of which having a variant version brining the total number up to Five. I currently own The Gigantic Masterline Heat Ray, the Diorama, and the standard vinyl version. It's a tough call with all the variables including price, sculpt, paint, build quality, fragility, etc. They are ALL great but it comes down to a personal balance of display space, price, and visual presentation. Price wise, this is only about $150 - $200 more than the cheapest Prime 1. I'm producing a mega 2019-21 comparison video. You could wait for that or have a look back at my reviews separately and see how you feel.
@@BatChainPuller oh ok great I look forward to your review. Specifically, I was referring to the 16 inch tall (cheapest) P1S Vinyl Godzilla statue, which there is a regular and heat ray version. I think size wise it’s comparable to this Spiral Studio. But the SS is around $850 and the P1S is about $780 (including shipping for both). I will wait for your review though! Thanks.

That's going to be a part of the 2019-2021 All Godzilla Comparison Video that I've been working on. All the versions going toe to toe. Xplus, Prime 1, Spiral, Hiya, SHMA, NECA, and Bandai.
@@BatChainPuller looking forward to that. I pulled the trigger on the Spiral version, it's my largest monsterverse collectible. I was originally looking at the P1, but the pics and specs of the Spiral swayed me. They also seem to be fully committed to that scale, and told me they have plans for a Kong soon, which is a cincher for this guy. Still, curious how they stack up.

@@mikewoolvett335 I got the normal versions of both. I don’t like the paint work for the Spiral Heat Ray version and the Prime 1 looked good but it was $100 more on Secret Compass. I hope to have my Spiral next week as well!

No. I think you might be thinking of the unpainted vinyl kit that they are releasing. It would be the same sculpt as this so "technically" an unfinished version you could buy, assemble, and paint yourself.

@@d.primate772 It's black I think. And ideally a skilled painter would use a variety of painting techniques mixing airbrush and traditional brushes to achieve movie accurate details.
