Good question! Here's the short answer:
For the normal colors, the only SHMA normal colors Godzilla 2019 was a sponsored product and I did not feel it best now to have it be featured in a video with highly contested opinions in the community. Furthermore, the normal 2021 Hiya was sent as a review sample, therefore any opinion may be seen as bias as it was sent and I want no connection one way or another.
There is no outside influence here whatsoever. Let them fight.
But if you REALLY wanna see 2019, I suppose we could do a spitfire rematch
I'm also moving forward differently with review samples. You'll be seeing them less on the channel with more stipulations and transparency.
How bout the Kong, Rodan, and Mothra figures?

This was so much more of a curbstomp than I anticipated. I’m glad to see Hiya is giving SH Monsterarts a run for their money. Definitely gives me enough reason to ditch SH Monsterarts, not only because Hiya is doing more w/ the license than them but also because outside of articulation SH Monsterarts fell short in almost every category.
I prefer the S.H monsterarts figure mainly for the plant I like the dark black more because it really makes the blue pop

What I like about hiya is that they are willing to improve on mistakes fans may have with their copies and reissue them, sure it’s a tad bit expensive but it’s not SH level price point

I actually Like Both, Hiya toys is a combination between Neca and Sh Monsterarts.. and the dorsal plates are perfect
2021’s Godzilla From the Monsterarts line, I love the blue On it’s mouth and the dorsal plates.. Even the paint and dry brush for both is perfection 👍🏻👍🏻

I loved it! And I totally called the results of each round! One thing I just remembered actually. Didn’t Godzilla technically shoot his beam straight upward while underwater to destroy the carrier Kong was standing on? Maybe the shooting upward pose is a reference for that?
Ngl totally forgot about that, but the promo shots make it seem like that. Good catch!
He also shot his beam straight up to the sky in king of the monsters when they blow a nuke on him to help him recover

I hate that SHMA 2021 does not come with a beam, because he has that color. Who about you?

@@inkdinoeditsthey were too lazy to make a new beam for gmk, or give the other one for him. Shma assume we have the g19 releases and we have the beam effect, plus the color on the dorsal plates doesn't match the beam. Therefore they were also too lazy to repaint or make a new beam.
Their accessory game has gone to shit. It's real bad now.
The only bad thing about the Hiya is not knowing if I should go for this one or wait for a future version with improvements, like look at the non atomic beam versions, You had the GvK one but had the issue with the neck, now you have the KotM with improved sculpt and neck but some come with issues in the eyes that the original didn't have, but they already are preparing new GvK that is more expensive so probably has improvements over the current one but also might bring other issues, sure one is KotM and the other two are GvK but they are almost the same and I'm not going to have two Godzillas with differences that you need a magnifying glass to notice. Same with this one, should I go for this or wait for the KotM version that might come with a new neck that allows it to look up without switching necks or some other stuff like improved articulation or even a 2nd GvK that improves on this one?
Well if you have a way to sell off the old you should be ok. That’s what I’m gonna do
I preordered the GvK updated, seems to have a new head sculpt that looks amaizing, and also with the neck issue solved and probably with good eyes. The paint looks fantastic too.
@@EricBilson Yeah I'm also waiting for that one, although I'm waiting to see the reviews because the original GvK had perfect eyes but then the KotM on came with some bad eyes, OG GvK had more articulation on the neck but had those weird neck pieces and the pin on the mouth articulation, KotM didn't had those but had less articulation on the neck.
I hope the updated GvK has the best of 2 worlds, we already know there's no pin and has a better pieces like KotM to cover the neck, let's hope it has perfect eyes like the OG GvK and a new neck articulation system that gives it better articulation than KotM.
It was the first monsterarts figure that really didn't impress me in any way. I was really disappointed. Shame that they can't do monsterverse right. Let's see if hiya will beat them in classics too
I would still give the Scale point to Hiya, just because their godzilla scales waaay better with tamashii's mecha godzilla and especially king ghidorah. Tamashii's scaling is all over the place
That's what I hinted at when it came to the end, let's see how Hiya does in the coming months
@StevensToyReviews yeah, if they get their ghidorah in the right scale, and I bet they will, we're all set. Though what I really meant was that Hiya got tamashii's scale better than tamashii themselves. I always felt their legendary godzilla was too small. He's the biggest godzilla yet (as of KOTM and not counting the ridiculousness of godzilla earth), but his figure is TINY. He should be as big as Shin.
@@roccondil5I think this is so King Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla weren't too huge, I think they size with their counterparts from their given movies and not every other monsterarts figure.
@shaynebeaudin832 nah, king ghidorah is overscaled in relation to godzilla, and so is mechagodzilla. Shm Mechagodzilla is still a bit bigger than hiya godzilla, but they look perfect next to each other, mechagodzilla still looks more imposing and larger.

Both have similar articulation, still SHMA have more, but the articulation isn't accurate since the neck pieces get under the other instead of above like in Hiya
In therms of accuracy and quality, Hiya toys absolutely destroys, it looks way better, and accurate, just try compare with real images

The paint job on both is hit or miss for me.
On one hand Hiya Toys has the better spine paint job, while SHMA has the better black/grey tone.

In my opinion S.H Monsterarts makes better Toho figures then any other company has, but Hiya toys makes better MV figures. If you like Toho kaiju then SHMA is the way to go, and for Monsterverse figures, Hiya is your best option. If you're a stop motion artist then I recommend getting SHMA either way.
I wonder if you'll do a Figure Fight for the NECA Rodan/Mothra vs. Hiya Rodan/Mothra? It'd be interesting, especially seeing as how against SHMA's spitfire GVK Goji, Hiya's spitfire GVK Goji almost got a clean sweep...
While it would be interesting and fun, I have parted with the majority of my NECA figures. While that can't happen.... SHMA and Hiya... 👀

I like both, hyia seems to be a cheaper and more screen actuate while shma is more possible and stylized, both are good but hyia is objectively the better figure, but both are good imo at least

Honestly, their american godzillas are so incredibly bad that i think they're making Monsterverse stuff suck on purpose. While the other stuff they do is really good, it breaks easily. SHMA is dead to me, especially since HIYA is doing Toho.
It's a shame to SH Monsterarts that they never fix the Head!!!

I really like how the shma looks compared to the hiya, cuz they all have somewhat chaotic paintjobs besides the rodan mothra and the spitfire g19, the shma is precise and can fluidly move around with more subtle features that you can enhance with its vast articulation
Sh has better sculpt, paint, accuracy, and articulation. All for the same price as hiya.

I'll definitely give it to hiya on this one, but their other kaiju haven't been nearly as good so I'll wait to say if hiya is just better across the board.

Hey Steven I feel like Bandai is slowly focusing on efforts with Their Sh Figurts and p Bandai stuff but then again there was quality issues with a new version of The Sh figurarts ultraman tiga but I only mess around at least two well technically 3 Sh figurarts all being Kamen riders specially Kamen rider black sun and Kamen riders Revi and Vice all those figures were perfectly good in Bandai standard aside maybe Kamen rider Revi articulations at some points but I wonder if Bandai have a better quality with humanoid figure then their monsterarts

First of all hiya toys and s.h.monsterarts are literally the Both same articulated figures and same hands ,paint,tails etc and hiya toys and s.h.monsterarts are both pretty good ok!!!!!

It's not horrible, it's done well with what they are able to do with budget and realistically with design. Additionally, even if they "won't last" despite them showing they have more plans, they're dominating the MV stuff, so if they deliver on that, then they still have a home run on a whole cast of characters.
