I grabbed one of these a little over a year ago or so, LOVE IT. I don't use it very often, but its definitely worth having! For anyone having issues with it, mine had an error code out of the box. I opened up the controller and one of the pins had come out of one of the Molex connectors for the thermocouple. Locked it back into place and its been working since.

I feel like I really need one, I am not sure what I would use it for but I NEED it just in case.

Beat me too it! Niche case but would be so damn useful for when you did need it. My technique of rapidly moving from side to side of a smd component isn’t that reliable lol

I haven’t tried these myself but a lot of reviews say they have exploded first time out the box.

I reviewed one of those about a year or so ago, were OK but weren't the best for alignment of the tips for small SMD, like 0402 or 0201.

I bought one of this tweezers and fail after two times.
I remove the 110 volts heaters and change for 24 volts 50 watts.
I connect the tweezers to an old yihua 937D soldering station.
Finally remove the tips and change for a more fine tips, now the tweezers works like a champ.
      Best Regards.

They look quite bulky, but seem to work a treat. Nice quick video mate! Straight off and on again!

Either he used solder with low melting point or tweezer temperature is turned way above +300C and solderings have a bit of flux left. In practice these tweezers are total crap. In boards where components are soldered with regular 60/40 solder or usual ROHS solder with higher melting point than 60/40, these tweezers struggle and even can't do anything. Plus constant nuisance with tip ends who doesn't stay adjusted together. I have these by the way. They aren't worth the cost of cardboard box where they was packed.

Know that it's designed for SMD but have you tried it on removing through hole components?
