Man, where was this a year ago when I was building out my home gym (which has consequently been sold to free up more shop space)?! Great work, man. Rogue plates are so slick. If those mats ever wear out, horse stall mats from Tractor Supply are perfect for lifting heavy.

That's a lot of white paint! It is so satisfying to see it all painted the same color in high speed. That's a really nice setup you have built, and I love that it is so slim to the wall when in the "put away" position.

Love the idea! I have no equipment to take on this project. But I would love to have such a thing at home. I might show this to a pro carpenter to make this for me at home. Or wait and save for the equipment and start carpentering. Though I know it is not easy I would like to start this as a new hobby.

Great video showing an awesome way to save room. If you ever find that the matting is too soft for the weights, check out the matting that is used in horse stables. It's much heavier and should easily take constant use.

Be careful with the split jerks though, with a narrow platform like that, your back foot could easily come off the back side of the platform or land on the edge. The girl in the demo almost went off the back and guys typically have a wider stance.

Looks really nice. Concerned about how high those top plates are, and the fact that there doesn’t appear to be any room for dumping the bar if you need to. Will probably ruin your floor the first time that happens. Also you are always limited to a weight that you can clean up to your shoulders since there’s no way to start from a rack position. I suppose if you don’t plan on truly maxing out on your squat that’s fine. I feel kinda bad for your downstairs neighbors too :/
