David Boice is visiting 52 churches in 52 weeks. He's already visited the Latter-day Saints twice. He has felt a certain draw to the church members. He's also having some strange encounters with cardinals that seem to be leading him down a spiritual journey. His visits also include a Heavey Metal church and a Trucker church!

@52churchesin52weeks - Hello Mr. Boice. It is nice to see you here. I appreciate your easygoing humble way and your guileless personality. Here's wishing you well in your quest. You are a very likable brother.
Merry Christmas to you David !

Thank you for going on the show, David! I loved hearing your story and would love to follow you. My daughter is training to be a missionary, and I find it interesting to hear about how others see us. As a lifelong member, I don't really get that perspective much, and it's very cool to hear. 😊

I had a similar journey. My wife is a Buddhist. When we first met, she told me, that the reason that she is a Buddhist and I am a Latter Day Saint is because we were each born into our respective religions but had I been born into Buddhism instead of Christianity then I would now be a Buddhist. What she said remained strong in my mind causing me to ponder deeply and ultimately to pursue a greater understanding of the facts involved with my belief.
This was the beginning of a long investigation and search for what is truth, in Lieu of the gospel of Jesus Christ and what Christ declared to mankind as being truth. Thus, I discovered after much time and pondering that a person searching for truth doesn't necessarily need to remain in the religion that they were brought up in as taught by their parents because in my case, discovering and accepting the truth even if it led to the possibility of changing and losing everything I had was the most important thing to me. In the end sacrificing everything to know and find the truth would be worth it because no one wants to stand before God at Judgement Day and find out what they were preaching and practicing was not true.
When I began this journey over 10 years ago, I made a decision to find spiritual and physical evidence to validate or invalidate my beliefs in order to find out if my religious beliefs were indeed the truth. Had I been brought up in Buddhism and knowing my character of how I think and feel now, I would have questioned Buddhism just as I did with my own religion in order that I might come to validate the truth for myself.
As I began this journey, I was completely objective in my search for the truth. I decided to follow the truth wherever it led me even if it led me outside of my own religion. I was even willing to leave Christianity entirely if that's where the truth led me. I decided to begin my search for truth by starting as if I had no belief in anything, which meant that in the beginning I would only use the tools of science as my foundation for discovering truth and finding evidence for God and his eternal truths.
To my surprise, not only did the truth lead me back to a belief in God but it also led me back to a belief in the Biblical God even Jesus Christ and just as surprisingly out of the 40,000 Christian denominationss, it led me right back to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Most people are so involved in ordinary activities of living they don't question what they find them selves into. At an early age, I felt the big questions of life, what was before I was born, what's life all about, and what happens when we die is beyond anyone ability to answer. When LDS missionaries tracked to my home, I felt their story was too incredible. To make a long story short, I was blessed with extraordinary confirmations. That was in 1953 when I was 25. Here I am, now 95, and grateful for them cause I never would have believed those young missionaries.

Good interview, Greg. I joined The Church when I was 33, many years ago, and when I first met members of The Church, I had a strong, distinct impression that they were very good people, and that they knew something which was important and good, and following that feeling I had of them, that led me to soon start investigating The Church, and then being baptized. I had searched for the truth for years before this, and I realized that I finally found it in The Book of Mormon and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Your guest has a good heart, and already knows of the good in The Church.

I always love when people are open minded and have this meekness in their hearts to try to understand what’s in the other side. We’ll never fully understand other people’s perspectives only by listening to someone that don’t even believe in what that person does. That’s such a great way to understand who we are and what’s around us. Great interview with a great guest, I also follow him and loved to hear his experience in our church.

I'm so glad you did this interview; I've been watching David's channel and have just been fascinated with all of the different methods of worship and beliefs out there. I've been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of my life and, even though I've visited a few other churches with friends and family, I didn't fully grasp what we offer compared with what others churches do. It has definitely been a testimony builder for me and I believe I would've ended up as a member if I had gone on a similar quest (just as the Propeht Joseph Smith did). This experience has given such a deeper appreciation for my own faith as well as a greater understanding and love for so many others who are looking for and worshipping Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. There are a lot of similarities to what we all hope for and David's quest is very relatable to so many of our own on his journey to find truth and salvation. I'm pretty sure that is ultimate goal is to find the Church that he would like to join with and I pray thay he does!

Another great show. Do you have a P.O. Box or way to send you a copy of a book? I would like to send you a book of a potential interview for your channel. I know it’s not much of a donation but I wanted to pitch in rather than put a burden on you since you do so much for the audience.
    Merry Christmas

I think it's neat that David is exploring the many ways in which God helps His Children Come Unto Him. I loved David's comment about how some Churches, like the Rock Band or Trucker Church is trying to reach out to those who might not otherwise be open or available to hear the Word of God. I admire his Child-like wonder as he discovers those who also wish to worship the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ.
P.S. I cringed inside when he mentioned hearing about a Star Wars reference. While we do try to use analogies that people can understand, I think it's a good example for us to watch ourselves to How we compare the scriptures to other things in life.
I hope I don't accidently drive a casual observer away, by making any reference that is too Worldly.
"And finally, I cannot tell you all the things whereby ye may commit sin; for there are divers ways and means, even so many that I cannot number them.
But this much I can tell you, that if ye do not watch Yourselves*, and your Thoughts, and your Words, and your Deeds, and Observe the Commandments of God, and Continue in the Faith of what ye have heard concerning the Coming of our Lord, even unto the end of your lives, ye must perish. And now, O man, Remember, and perish not."
    - Mosiah 4:29-30. (Emphasis added.)

I have been thinking it would be good if someone did. How did she miss, when she was attending the temple, that we need a Savior? I was at least going to study some of those things myself (that she says we believe) and write down what our doctrine does say. I have been studying what salvation is according to the Bible, and the kingdoms or degrees of heaven. I've been in the Church of Jesus Christ longer than Lynn was. I'm trying to be humble because of course there's a lot more I could know. Grateful for times when I receive the Holy Ghost.

Ok so, my experience as a return missionary was so different. There are many CZcams videos I've watched on this. Here's my truth. I knew I was gay since 4th grade. Convert at 18, mission a year later. Did it faithfully, great experience. Came home and immediately knew I can't marry and deceive a wife in that way knowing so...I just left. Plain & simple. I'm 66, single, no kids or gay relationship since 1999. I just knew in my heart God created me in His image. You can't pray that away no matter what.
