The 360 does not need to be moved because the transducer rotates 306 degrees around the boat. You can see in all directions clearly to about 60-70 feet.

I cut my shaft with a pipe cutter to get as close to possible before the final cut. I also used the hacksaw blade to protect the wires from being cut.
good idea I would use a tube cutter clean cut and you could prevent hitting the wires

How about separate mounts for the 360? So you can move them independently?

I have never used a pipe cutter but I am afraid you might be more likely to cut the wires.
