those things are Tefillin, a pair of black leather boxes containing Hebrew parchment scrolls. A set includes two-one for the head and one for the arm. Each consists of three main components: the scrolls, the box and the strap.
I couldn't remember what they were called, but I saw them used in something I watched recently so I knew what they were.
Yes I just watched a FB post about them
Thank you for that bit of knowledge ❤. I love learning.
Yes tefillin or phylacteries is another name for them.
Each vintage set sells for about $120+, depending on condition.
How did you not pick up those spaghetti poodles!!!! 😢😢
“Oh, deer(dear). “ Will is on his game, today!! Lol
I loved the Italian spaghetti poodles. And I nearly died when you put down that roll of lacy fabric. So beautiful!
I loved the spaghetti poodles!!! I would have snatched those up in a hot second!
@@tammyshirey3041 I once sold an Italian mama cat and babies on a pillow spaghetti figurine for nearly $300. Some of the Italian spaghetti pieces are worth a small fortune!
Compressed air in a can or a small air compressor with handle. You need one because the quick ability to clean with them is priceless
Wil is on a roll..such quick wit. He cracks me up! That was fun. Cathleen
That estate sale was the stuff of my dreams! What a talented person and artist she was. I can just imagine the hours of enjoyment she had creating such amazing pieces of art. ❤
Everyone needs a Gary in their life.... strong, quiet, competent, what a good sport!
Hard to pick a favorite but the ornaments and the spaghetti dogs were pretty sweet. Loved the woman's amazing talent. Would have had to take out a loan just in the craft section 😂 good thing I'm in Florida!
That lady had beautiful.things. she was so talented. Just think, alot of people will be able to love her treasures like she did.
I liked the box of bees and birds. I am a crafter and there is nothing made now that compares to the older vintage stuff. Great score. ❤
My favorite!!
Danni, i would love to see a Jr High picture of you! Yes, i loved the box of birds, the blue platter, and so much more. I think Will is really a nice guy and very patient! Love your videos Danni!
The big box of vintage craft things would be the first thing I would get into when I got home:)
I appreciate the way you are trying to help the other family get their Channel up and going.
The whole gang here watching u w the pickers, they add so much to ur thrifting n we absolutely love Will's expertise opinions...we love this video!! Oh, elderly center has 6000 members n learn so much from u..so much fun!!
Couldn’t AGREE more!!🩷🩷🩷
Love, love, love watching both of you shows!!! I have decided to go eBay seller and have a antique booth because I have been inspired by both of you!!!
We watch u daily n we are in love w Will n how he presents you in his videos. We take notes n learn w o interruptions n his comments always add to your expertise. We love you guys
That was great, both times. What beautiful artwork. Too much to pick just one favorite 😍. You are so lucky to have friends like the Picker Road Crew. 🤩
WHAT A GREAT Half Price Day. That sale was amazing. I am so intrigued by the artist. So many wonderful expressions in her work. ❤
I knew it!!! You played the trumpet and were in marching band🎉I was first trumpet in high school, I still have the trumpet my dad bought me.
Shellfish bag…gotta love Will! 🤣🤣
Those tiny “doves” inside sand dollars are the skeletal remains of the creature’s jaw bone.
Oh my, such good stuff. I can't decide what was my favorite. All that art work you did not get😮. Awesome scores❣️ shout out to all at picker road, they are such good troops for you. Good job Dani, another awesome video. I enjoy them all so much 🥰
I'm so glad you went back the next day and showed us more of the estate sale!!
Oh my goodness ! That lace was beautiful. I could not have left that behind.
What an amazing sale and HALF PRICE!!! I loved everything. The beaded purse was beautiful and the box of crafty stuff was awesome! I cant wait to see the new shelf in the store. I love the Picker Road family too❤! They are such good people!
I would have loaded up at this one! The fabric dyes would have been mine...and they sell as a lot for $$. You could easily have sold that fabric, keep in mind that good quilting fabric averages $12 a yard now. Imagine what vintage or really special fabrics sell for. I sell a lot of fabric for good money. That dressmaker mannequin was worth at least $100, maybe more. I know you can't buy everything, there was serious bank to be made here
Lots of beautiful stuff. I loved the elephant with the bowl.
LoL I too have that click in my head that makes me lose my mind...it would have happened at that amazing estate sale...such beautiful items!! Your Picker Road friends are wonderful ❤ I noticed Garry quietly helping out behind the scene...nice guy!
“ Are you the Captain of Chenille ?” Will cracks me up . 😂 Also , I should have said this on an earlier video , but he amazes me with the knowledge he has …… especially for being such a young guy !! It’s cool and interesting !! Also , I wanted to add that I am enjoying another day at this fabulous sale with such STUNNING pieces !! I would have had to buy one of the large painted vases …… for myself . Lol Random note ….. Danni , you look cute with your bright pink top , jeans …… and yes I noted the pretty sandals !! 😎👌 I would have bought those Christmas ornaments also . They remind me of icicles. ❤ The Hoover Dam magazine was interesting . We visited there a few years ago .
Oh, no. Now I am singing the Captain & Tenille song ‘Love will Keep us Together” in my head.🎤😲
@@davisholman8149 , me too ! 😂🤣
Always have a tote bag with you. Often looks like you might drop or break something!!
This was a great sale. This lady created lovely things, I'm glad you found so many. At half-price, it's a win-win for you and the sellers. I love Will and the comments he makes when he is filming; he always says something that makes me smile. : ) By the way Danni, the crackling sounds don't bother me at all - in fact, I like them, very ASMR. If you have never heard of ASMR, it stands for autonomous sensory meridian response. It is defined as, "A feeling of well-being combined with a tingling sensation in the scalp and down the back of the neck, as experienced by some people in response to a specific gentle stimulus, often a particular sound." Cracking cellophane and plastic baggies, and for me especially, the sound of someone cutting paper with scissors will trigger tingles. Some people have this response, others don't. It's like curling your tongue, some people can while others can't. Well, this comment has officially gone off the rails! LOL ; D
Wow! Such great stuff
Thanks for taking us back with you and the Picker Road family😊
That was my old friend Bernie who was a singer and a Chippendales dancer in the late 80's/90's on the magazine you were looking at up stairs... Lol
So as I watched you climb up those spiral stairs, one question kept popping into my mind. How on earth did they move all of that furniture up those stairs! Beds and dressers and desks! I would like to sit back and watch that! Lol
Trick to the glass shelves is to stack them in the order you broke them down. Over time, they warp to place and can be difficult to align to a new pane.
That lace was gorgeous and I love the earth tone colors.
That Lady was incredibly talented. Such beautiful painting. My passion is Old Pictures, with Farm Animals, mostly on them, and Old Books.
Chenille stuffed animals, luv those!
Amazing items, Amazing house and an Amazing woman! I feel like you have honored her. You could have pulled an Hudson Vintage and bought it all.
The beautiful had painted vases, ceramic wear, especially loved the white spaghetti poodles, old new stock, how exciting to look through each and every box full of vintage treasures!! I do hope you keep for yourself the beautiful blue platter with hand painting in the middle.. reminds me of Bougie Boo … by the way I was humming “Get down boogie oogie oogie”..in my head while thrifting today 😅😅
What a talented lady! Beautiful pieces ❤
I liked the box full of birds and nests and things for crafting. So many things you can do! Nice deals
Wow Danni!!! So much goodness! You did great keeping with the small stuff...you know how to simplify and shop for what you know you can move on What Not. Another great one lady! Thank you as always for taking us all on your journeys 😊💕🐦🐢🐠
Will is on a roll. They keep coming 😅😂. Captain of Chenille 😅
Will is hilarious. I love all of them!
My sister played trumpet and french horn, my husband played french horn, and I played tenor sax and oboe. Loved band!
That epic glass shelf is everything. That ladies artistry talent blows my mind. Wonderful stuff you found

Those vases with grapes are beautiful. I would love all those vases!
I need a friend like Gary!
You are only a few minutes in and everything, including that staircase is GORGEOUS!!
Loved all the cool artwork the lady created herself so very cool. Great deals and a great video Danni❤️😊💐
Danni you found some really nice items today. The glass shelves are so cool.
I think the glass flower is a butterfly feeder, for water, stick it in a plant. But be careful you don’t break the tip off.
As always, thanks for taking us along when you thrift. My favorite item was the sugared icicle ornaments, but loved many of the pieces you picked up!!
I love watching you, looking for good deals yes that’s the way you find good stuff.
That was fun to many favorite to pick but I loved the deer ,glasses in carry

What a fabulous day thrifting Danni . I love the Cloisonné vases and all the stuff really.I like the suprise of finding different things, the big box of bees and birds, etc. would be an exciting find for me, too 😀 ❤️ blue 💙 💙 💙
This is my favorite videos 🌹 I loved those tiles that you left behind 😊
Wow wow wow. I especially love the hand painted china! You got some great deals.
I would have loved some of the porcelain blanks to paint in, the poodles, the fabric! So much to choose from. What an awesome lady that must have been, would have loved to meet her.
For the dust take out side blow it off. If you use something that will blow do low or med than use a lint free rag. You can do it. It works on a lot of things. 😊
The box of kitschy stuff was definitely my favorite! Another good video! Thanks Danni!
Hi Dani. Love everything you bought in that estate sale. You got good prices. God bless
Great estate sale! Hey Danni, the stone piece with the deer...if you look at the outline of the stone you will see the profile of a dog or wolf! I noticed it right away! Very Kool! Loved so many of the items you bought but one of my favorites was the beaded purse! It was fun going along with you!
Very cool piece. Really stood out!
I happen to be very attracted to the Asian hand-painted lusterware along with the dragon ware.
Great finds! That was in awesome estate sale. So many awesome things!
And the rabbit ears should still work free to air station OMG broth back memories I dream of Genie.
Loved the cloisonné- what a deal. So so much. Her painted pieces were beautiful
Loved the stool and the blue hand painted tray!!
Wowza! Another awesome haul! Love the wooden carved birds of course because I love all things birds. I love the poodles which I collect also but too big for me to keep. Gorgeous though 😊
The fact that your carring your junior high trumpet around from move to move says it all 😅
You were really excited.Great haul 👍
Dorothy Thorp vase was my favorite, I’ve never seen one like it. Nice!
Great video, love estate sales! Thanks. Danni. 😊
You should have picked up the rabbit ears!
Also regarding the gold boxes for jewelry - a sticker could cover any labels on box
The picker road family are such saints 🥰 u have fantastic friends, brilliant video ❤️ that place was a treat and a half!
I really liked the Dorothy Thorpe vase. Never saw one before. You can probably make a whole video when it’s time to put that glass shelf back together again!! Ha ha!

My favorite was that little stool very beautiful
I would have definitely picked up those Italian poodles if they were priced right and damage free. I usually like to keep my resale items on the small side but, OMG, those were awesome!

I believe the Jewish items in the velvet bags are Tefillin or prayer phylacteries. They have sacred scrolls on vellum within the box. Traditionally, they are worn by Jewish men during morning worship. There are two to a set. They boxes are 13:26 attached to leather straps. The wearer would affix the tefillin on his head so the box is on his forehead; the other set of tefillin would be wrapped wrapped around the left arm.
Oh my I would have LOVED to spend some time there - love watching these USA estate sales 🇬🇧🇺🇸🌸🌸
Love so much if it hard to remember but the deer on the rock is special❣️
I would have loved to rescue the 2 spaghetti poodles‼️in th 60’s I decorated my bathroom in poodles, small ones, as a young bride🥲
Again what amazing finds!!! I just don't know if i can pick just 1 fav - but ok it would have to be the vntg beaded purse :)
