BANNED World in Action Operation Countryman - Ian Puddick 2023

  • The BBC at first made this documentary but Alan Protheroe (Mi5's man at the beeb) banned it. Bravely the World in Action team stepped in and made the definitive documentary on Police Corruption and called it 'Cleaning Up The Yard.
The Met Police tried to ban this film, why ?
Watch and it will be apparent, Operation Countryman found that Corruption went up to Asst Commissioner level. This is not about a few bad apples.
Today in 2014 if you want to understand why the Met recently shredded all the internal documents re Lawrence and covered up the murder of Daniel Morgan, watch this brilliant film which doesn't just expose police corruption, it exposes the cause.
The Culture at the top of the Met Police
It is worth noting, the Home Office made Secret and Classified Operation Countryman for 50 Years.

I was a journalist during Countryman and one thing was clear. The DPP was well aware of corruption but had been told by MI5 to squash it. All very similar to the recent Westminster paedophile cover-up . MI5 has never understood that Democracy only works in a truly open internal society... without that you have nothing and the population will gradually disbelieve everything! Then you have chaos.

"Democracy only works in a truly open internal society" So where is you documentery about the national government, kickbacks in local government, NHS 'mispending' ? There is not one iota of 'evidence' in the documentary. Look at the criminal from Ilford who said 50 coppers raised his flat, really?

An insider Police got a message to the DPP that a Member of The a Brotherhood was in Distress. The DPP told them to let Jimmy Saville go , there was insufficient evidence. His name was Keir Starmer , a year later the Queen gave Keir Starmer an Honours , he became Sir Keir Starmer . At a time when PIE 🥧 was prominent in Labour 😜 .

There not just mentioning a few quid. The police protesting over cut's in funding (2014) should consider how their greed in taking the spoils of crime is denying the victims of crime of millions of pound's.This film talk's about co-operation with criminals in bribes, stifling internal investigations and blocking criminal investigations. The truth continues with violence, murder, and corrupt Met officer's allowing crime to reap the more substantial reward's of longer time- for example Special Branch ,in drug smuggling and dealing, waiting for the pot to boil over before making the sting, and keeping the lion's share of the profits.

I dont wish to appear pedantic, but there are a number of spelling errors in you comments - it should read closer to as retyped below:-

Do corrupt police officers exist in 2020? Of course, but the difference is that they are extremely minimal and almost certainly act as lone wolves. Despite the comments I am seeing on here the reality is that corruption of this type has long since been eradicated.

I tend to agree, but the urban legends continue, its nothing like the 1970s, but corruption wont ever be 100% eradicated

Its just as bad if not worse. Over the years they have just got better at covering their asses & covering up evidence. I was close to a police civilian worker only a couple of years back & i know how they make use of free access to the PNC. Its rotten from the bottom up & is much worse the nearer the top you get.
