At the time, I was wondering why Jerry Lawler suddenly disappeared in 2001. Back then I didn’t have access to the internet and knew nothing about what was going on backstage.
Lita always struck me as a travel light kind of person. I remember the story was that when WWE wanted to bring her back for something a few years after she left, they had to track her down in Costa Rica, where she was living the simple life.
They should’ve let WCW still exist and merged it with ECW like they did and used it as developmental territory but they had a whole lot of bad contracts to get rid of too.
Funny Thing Both Fox Family and WCW Died In 2001 Fox Family being the company that Included the eponymous channel Fox Kids and Saban Entertainment the production house behind Power Rangers and Digimon being sold to Disney similar to WCW/ECW being sold to WWE
I got to visit WWE New York in 2001 before it closed down. It was the coolest place ever for a 10 year old wrestling fan.

Attitude Era ended at Wrestlemania X-7, so yeah 2001
