There are some pretty clear homages to both guys - the video didn’t mention it but gotta love the cool vest - but it works because he does it well, and he comes across as genuine. He’s one of my favs but there’s no denying he’s doing something really smart in playing to our nostalgia for two of the most over wrestlers ever.

They weren't just some new guys Gangrel pulled aside to replace E&C - they built their own rivalry with E&C and both went on to set the Gold Standard for Tag Team Wrestling, alongside The Dudley Boyz. The TLC matches were so amazing and popular they are still talked about today in the same way the original Hell in a Cell match is talked about for singles matches. If you had picked any other team to pair with Gangrel as The New Brood, they likely would've been an absolute failure that would've ruined their own reputation alongside that of Gangrel.

When I got back into WWE last year, the first couple of promos I saw from LA Knight were rough for me. Everything about him was screaming Stone Cold Steve Austin so hard in my brain that it took me out of the story. It took about 3-4 shows for me to get used to it & be able to actually enjoy his character lol.
The Brodus gimmick change was genuinely disappointing. He was doing really great stuff on Superstars with the monster heel gimmick and “Rip It Up” was a great theme song that’s long gone unused.
