Through all the unbalanced specials, squidbaggers, and people stacking mpu on bamboozler, Splatoon 2 never failed to be my comfort game after a long day, and will always hold a special place in my heart as the game that got me hooked! I thank the game for all the memories I had playing it, and I look forward to the new ones I’ll make playing Splatoon 3!

I think we all know the strongest, most OP thing in splatoon 2’s history:
The sun was way too bright in moray towers back when the game launched making it impossible to aim up without being blinded
The sun is a deadly lazer
This is one of the best Splatoon 2 videos posted period. The editing and comedy is perfect and the presentation does a good job of describing how broken the game is without overstaying on any section for too long. Well done for everyone who worked on this project!
Most of these things aren't broken though in the eye of a casual player, only in the eye of a comp splatoon 2 player. In fact, alot of these require skill like the k sloshing machine and eliter 4k scoped for example
While true, thats what the video is centered around, bridging the gap between casual / comp

Main power up was such a baffling thing to add. Damage up was a problem and I thought Nintendo knew this and got rid of it, but no they bring it back for some reason? I wouldn't be as opposed to MPU if it didn't increase damage on anything and just had various other benefits. I really hope splatoon 3 doesn't go the route of making gear so crucial for weapons to even work well
When they revealed MPU, as soon as I saw Damage Up on some of the weapons, I was concerned.
I personally think that MPU should increase paint instead of damage as the go to effect. If it does affect Damage, it should be like Slosher, only affecting falloff damage. None of this __.9 one less shot to kill garbage.
Just goes to show how good of a game Splatoon is, even with all these "issues" we love it still ❤
I've never found ballpoint to be that bad, even when going against good ballpoint players. I've played the weapon a little myself, and it's just plain fun to play.

ballpoint used to be insanely overpowered, now after some patches it’s still good but not meta anymore
It’s very fun to watch because even the weapons shown to be « broken » aren’t even everywhere
Like ballpoint and bamboo or even tri are all very strong weapons that arent in the meta
This is hilarious to imagine that the meta overwhelms even strong weapons

A melee is broken but with Splatoon 2 is the greatest idea I've ever seen in this community this video is SO GOOD and hilarious
I feel like we’re probably going to have this all over again in Splatoon 3. It doesn’t matter how much more balanced the game is, there’s probably going to be something to complain about. But, I think that’s ok. Both our triumph and rage add to Splatoon’s culture, and the sound of Tenta Missile fire will be something we may look at in strange fondness as we grow old.
I’m very glad you at least stuck to analyzing the whole game instead of purely what’s used.
It’s funny how this game went through during its history because at the start, so many people have said things about how much everything sucks to use regarding specials. Which is probably why everything has been unbalanced to the extreme.

Splatoon 2 will be looked at as the brawl of splatoon
Everyone forgets about the Super Jump Splashdown and how fun it was. You got the enemy waiting for an easy splat when you land, and suddenly SPLAT RADIUS.
The ability triggers faster during a Super Jump than normal btw, so it kind of punishes them for waiting.
A bit broken, but still satisfying
I was actually playing Tenta brella last night during the shellendorf RM rotation, and 5:10 happend to me like 10 times.
Side note: Tent is so fun. I rediscovered my love for it during the splatoon 3 testfire
Is something I'll say about the tenta missiles, is that they have the vita saw problem. They are not all that useful in low skill solo queue, but become insanely broken the second people start communicating with each other.
Honestly I wish Splashdown got an HP increase to make up for its predictability so less splats could happen while using it 😭
i also thought of this idea at first when i and some of my friends discuss some ways to fix splatoon 2 specials but that would make the special op in lower level which it already is plus making it a glorified panic button. its just a badly designed special and there is no good way to really fix it
Its still good for splatzones and can be useful in tower control. Regardless, its in Splatoon 3 campaign and I wish I could use it (even in turf can be useful if you want to just paint the floor)

Splatoon 2 is one of the greatest Switch games to play and it brought all of us together. But it's now time to move on to the new era which is called, Splatoon 3.
when i saw this video in my recommended, i was hoping it would be just like heeew's series. thx for always delivering great content chara, you absolute legend
9-9 they should just go back to calling in inkstrikes, terrorizing with the kraken, blowing people away with an inkzooka, and negating all of that with a bubbler. Splatoon is a game about positioning and playing the objective, not just nerfing everything till you're standing next to each other doing 1% damage till they die.

For the splash down I feel i just use it when super jumping or being in a higher ground or well. Just when opponents aren’t around. Knowing the splashdown is a splat3 story mode only special I can see why it’s story mode only special in 3.

im usually on the same page as prochara in most videos, but this video had so many missopportunities in my opinion, or could just have talked more about,
like how squeezer alone is outclassing AND fucking up a ton of midliners by not only having a good kit but also being a better pro that paints, it has mobility, range, kill power, all bc you have to tap, something many players can just get behind, something completely completely artificial downside,
trislosher too outclasses and fucks up a ton of short range weapons by existing,
as for missiles, even tho some ppl may say "just dodge", what makes it good is how good players will follow up with it, players will be busy dodging it while the other team punishes and get control of new areas while doing so,
same for armor, some ppl may say that you can just break with bombs or by poking safely, but the fact that it armor the whole squad and smart players will emmideatelly push togheter with it is what makes it opressing too,
jet squelcher also not only can special spam better than anyone, the weapon was buffed at the point it it outclasses heavy splattling as a weapon,
speaking of that shooters in general should have been talked about a lot more, tons of buffs, crazy bomb and special output, mobility to deal with bombs and specials which filters out the meta even more.
also you talked about tetras, tent and explo features as op, those things are all they have, its what they have that makes them special, they are not even top tier and they are some of the most unique weps in the game, and explo being able to paint zone in triggerfish all the time is not the weapon's fault, thats just bad map design
tent having a strong af shield is a nescessity, the weapon struggles without it and it cant just easily get to safety once it breaks, its there to forces players to respect and adapt which is doeable since the brella user struggles to do something about,
This type of format isnt really just about whats the best at everything, its about extreme or odd attributes of a game. The OG vid had roy up B killing jiggs at 0. Its not practical and obv hes still ass bit its a strange quirk of the game.
I agree with your points, but i feel like you misinterpreted the theme of the video, this video could have easily been longer to explain and go more in depth but we made the decision to make it shorter since it was already jam packed with information. even more than the usual ____ is Broken format
@@ProChara hmm ic, thats a good example, but i still complain about them being in the video, those are def very quirky features that many players might struggle to deal with, however unlike roys cheesy up b on jigs, those features were intended to be in the game by the devs and are core features from their design, so i woudlnt classify as broken, not in the sense of being op and neither as something badly designed or janky
Nice to see Splatoon2 still showing up and hanging even when 3 is out. Though half these problems still exist in 3 and I would kill for String ray back on Heavy Splatling instead of that toy special.
Great video, was a fun look back at some of the wack stuff. Kinda sad you didn't mention some things like bubbles or LDE in their own section but its still a nice view. heart

I love the style of the video on how it's like Heeew's broken series. I feel that this can be improve upon Chara on how these videos can barriers of entry to outsiders. Like what Rainmaker is and why Fizzy bomb is so busted on it.
Yeah it was a challenge to do something like that for this video without making it way too long / boring. So we had to draw the line at some place (Some knowledge of shooting games / splatoon)

@@Luci_4k It was a really good vide overall! Just a little comparison differences was that I knew much more information from the Heeew's 'Broken' series as a blind viewer of the Smash series. For me personally I feel that I have I have to know the basics of Splatoon in order to know why these things are broken. Just a minor thought.

Btw for those who think K-Gal is balanced, you that the whole thing with tanks in video games is that they have good offense and defense, but typically are slow? What we threw that out the window and made it fast and also supports a lot with paint.

Usually people like to level up first and get their rank up. Unlock better gear and new weapons.
I mean, everyone plays differently. I'm sure there's a lot of people that will play a lot of the story first. But considering it's an online game, most people would probably want to play online

Many people I talk to do the story mode first to get familiar with the mechanics and weapons (plus the clear bonuses/Meal Tickets in 2) before jumping into real matches

I'm not trying to say that few people would do that. just from my experience, the majority of people that I know would want to start leveling up and unlocking better gear and weapons. Especially if they already know how the games works and/or have played before.
I'm sure lots of people, especially those new to the game, would play through he story a lot when they first start to get sued to playing. And that's a good strategy too, for learning how the game works.

honestly the section on tetras surprised me considering how nobody uses those things and how hard they were hit with MPU and bad kits in this game, but youre right in that it could definitely end up being insane. but with mpu gone in splat 3 and them having a way better kit than either of the splatoon 2 kits, we just might end up seeing a Dark Tetra Revolution, and as someone who mained them in 2 i am excited to see that

Love the homage too heeuw more than you can imagine, it’s like the “history of --- I guess”. It remids me of how the splatoon community is connected to smash decently, and the shooter community it’s closest to is tf2, and smash and tf2 are very connected, but I have never seen them connect all at once (I though of this cause a tf2 is broken homage thing was made as wel)
i started using the ink brush bust with 4 damage up chunks on my helmet and 1 on my jacket for more speed, 3 special charge boosters, and 4 ink savers on my yeezies. Its like the bloodhound step of splatoon. If anyone attacks me i can just attempt to flank them or nope out. The ink saver chunks work their magic and the special charge up ones let me use baller every 45 seconds. Im rarely anywhere other than the top in my team and i just hang out on the enemys side the whole time since nobody can catch me

2:42 even though I love tri-slosher, another reason to hate it is that it doesn't have falloff damage when you slosh from ledges, unlike the regular slosher.

Ah, I remember Ballpoint practically couldn't run out of ink so you could fire it indefinitely until the ink recovery nerf, and even after then it still got ink back fairly quickly. I remember the kensa sloshing machine being such a free weapon because fizzy bomb could just be spammed out, you got special quick and even though it was one of the worst specials in the game, it was still a panic button. Also the sloshes could go through splash wall meaning any splash wall weapon was easily beaten out by that beast. It was disgusting.

ink armor also has 30hp before it breaks, so potentially it can take multiple hits, its just that the hit that breaks it cant bleed damage onto their actual health, instead being fully absorbed
Coming back to this after playing 3 was horrible having to deal with ray and missiles

Hey, that Luis Cl guy, I played with him during splat 3 splatfest! We played for an hour and a half and ended up with a 18 win streak!
One of the most frustrating occurrences I've had in my Splatoon 2 experience, is when I'm about to splat somebody at close range, only for them to suddenly ascend 5 feet above you and insta kill you with a splashdown.
Some could argue that I had a window to splat the person before they could come crashing down. but you have to understand that splashdown's activation is so abrupt and unexpected that you won't always have enough time to process that they're about to Noah's flood you into oblivion just when you thought you had them. It's moments like that which make splashdown one of the most *situational* specials in the franchise for me.

Tenta Missiles are the most annoying special to deal with and I'm surprised the Naut isn't listed under this broken Splatoon vid since it's mostly seen in comps and its so hard dealing with them because of the charge, you don't even need to FULLY charge it and yet people pack MPU on that thing and kill immediately! Hope it gets a major nerf in the next game alongside certain weapons.
