Played my first game today and the dice were stingy. I rolled more 4s and 3s than the odds suggest. Needless to say, I was defeated via Nemo in Act 2. Ready to reset, change out the dice, and have some more fun!

I love how stacked your ship is with upgrades! Honestly seems like you are setup really well. Let's hope for a high score!
Also knowing you, I wasn't surprised at all when you pulled out the crew armor upgrade for your Act 3 bonus :-P
HAHAHA Yeah I have spent the most time upgrading my ship with this motive vs. all the other motives! I think it is because I am wary about attacking warships. Do you think I need to go for one more upgrade, or just start emptying the seas of any other vessel except mine! muhahahaha!! Oh and Steve I CAN'T thank you enough for teaching me this game, in case you can't tell I love it :)
Haha I'm not the right one to ask regarding the correct number of upgrades. I feel like there is a fine line in this game regarding that topic that I always leap over. I just love upgrading my ship in this game!
I will say I struggled with War motive and I think your approach seems to be doing well so far. If I were in your shoes, I may try to continuous attack oceans with one action but always stop to salvage when sinking a non-warship, and eventually going for the Fog Machine if the opportunity presents itself. I say that because it can serve dual purpose:
1) Reducing notoriety when in a bind otherwise
2) Using it as a sacrifical upgrade if you happened to roll bad and take significant damage since it only costs 2 salvage.
...BUT... this is all coming from a guy that doesn't win at this game :-P
And you are so welcome in teaching the game. This game was a surprise hit for me and wanted to share!
Yeah that fine line is hard to find sometimes! I always forget instead of losing a resource I can lose a Nautilus upgrade, THANKS for the reminder. Can't wait to see where this motive takes me!

All the ships being added is a positive, since you score for attacking them. I'll have to watch another video to see how it plays out with different scoring criteria.

Great episode! A question at 11:19. I believe you were wagering both Nemo and Hull yet afterwards you didn't move Nemo or Hull forward. Is this an error or otherwise, what am I missing here?
And I have no idea which choice you should make. I guess I will choose the fog.
Hey Wesley!! So I just didn't show on camera that I moved Nemo and Hull forward when wagering. And since I passed the test, I get to put them back to where they were. So we should be good there. Got you on the fog, can't wait to try this with you in a couple weeks!!!
Stalk attack doesn't allow you to attack more than once. Bold attack allows that. Or am I missing something?
He has the Nautilus Periscope Upgrade card. It allows him to make consecutive bold attacks without receiving +1 notoriety between ships for 1 action OR make consecutive stalk attacks while receiving +1 notoriety between ship attacks for 1 action.
26:10 shoiuldnt you have placed only 3 ships, not 4?

Really interesting and well done, but i've stopped watching at 33'14...
Man, you just succeed ALL your rolls through Act 1 &2.... it's not representative at all of the real challenge.
I miss 1/3 of my rolls personally, so frustratinf to watch this 😤😤😤
