Never been a big Derek Carr fan until this year. What he had to deal with this season and still being able to make the playoffs is a great feat.
Yeah it is but also no real WR1 since he entered the league or a stable coach. This is his 6th coach in 8 about to be 9 seasons in 2022. Hard not to like him

As a Raider fan I had my doubts about him but after this season I no longer doubt him.
He literally carried a broken team with Game winning drive after game winning drive. Carr deserves to be respected as a great franchise QB.

Carr looks great in this offense. Top 10 no doubt. McDaniels watered his throwing down. Excited to see him in New Orleans.
Damn. Seeing the early clips of Ruggs really makes you think about what they lost. Derek really put the team on his back without a number #1 receiver, bad o line and waller being gone a number of games. 2-3 pieces away from being extremely dangerous.

I hope more people appreciate what Derek Carr has been doing as a QB for a team that has never provided good defense for him. It's amazing that they even made the playoffs this year.

@@armen_ar323 yeah at some point unless we can get an immediate upgrade at QB(Rodgers, Wilson or Watson) we’re gonna have to pay Derek Carr but the teams that are in the playoffs all are gonna pay similar money for a QB that give them the competitive edge to compete in the playoffs every year
@@seansimpson7879 why does everyone bring up Watson as an upgrade? Dude went 4-12 with a team comparable to Raiders, and has a ton of off field drama to deal with. That's not an upgrade. Hell Rodgers is going to retire in a couple years, and Wilson has a TON of wear and tear (the only reason Seattle would even think about trading him). Carr was playing at a top 5 level when he had weapons, despite a terrible OL and no run game. Imagine how good he'd be if he had a decent OL, good weapons, AND a run game for play action (like literally every other successful QB has)? McDaniels apparently loves Carr and is looking forward to building around him 🤷♂️

With everything going on with that Raiders team Derek Carr kept them in it. Fantastic Leadership, and most of his highlights were off the Field. Raiders will be back next year.

Every year Derek Carr continues to make plays and win games for us and every year everyone talks about trading him. Carr deserves more respect than he gets
Came back to rewatch his season and you can tell how much the offense changed after Ruggs was arrested, it wasn’t the same after he left and you can tell Carr got more conservative with the ball after that incident. But today we just got the best WR in the NFL who played with Carr in college, now we can see this explosive Carr again hopefully for a full season again like in 2016. By picking up devonte Adams we are now super bowl contenders.
Dumb dumb he didn’t get more nothing he lost his deep ball target and FYI the west coast offense is designed for underneath to targets in space. Only change was a deep play who was gone. In week 15 Carr was 1st in yards and 1st in deep explosive plays pass 30 yards. Your comment doesn’t make complete sense at all. 😂 it’s just funny how Carr is literally in your face doing the forgotten narrative of “Elite QBs do more with less” you so called fans are ridiculous to me.
200 yards away from 5000 yards with no waller most of season just hunter and a bust first round pick in Zay Jones’s. Really think about that fact. He literally carried us all season by himself.

im gonna give a lot of props to carr and his efforts to take em this far into the playoffs, but with some more work and effort then they may make it farther than the wild card

I blame most of #4DerekCarrs "inconsistencies" on the fact that he never had an offensive system that lasted more than three seasons, also, the turn-over in the wide-receiver position doesn't help other. I will say this about #4DerekCarr, he's never quit, never gave up, never let it get to him! This alone is the reason why he will be counted as one the all-time greats!

When you consider the draft class he was a part of, Raiders fans should be praying to the heavens they got Carr! Before this past season I saw him and Matt Stafford in the same vein. Two highly talented players, neither without their flaws, but held back by the inconsistency of their organizations.

Ruggs could have been something special. They had one of best passing offenses in the league with him. What a horrible waste of potential and loss life.

Derek Carr is absolutely deserving of a new deal and it's the right thing and I couldn't be happier for him. He's been a top 8 QB the last 3 seasons by any metric. He can win.

Derek Carr should be respected WAYYYYY more by football fans, including Raider fans. The many ways he extends plays, makes the correct reads and has that mentality to win, really just makes him great. But the LEADERSHIP he has, is probably his best asset. Well respected by the team since he got there, and he is always putting the team before himself and is non-selfish. Not to mention all the tragedies and drama that happened this past season, he was able to keep our team connected and stable despite everything outside the field and guided us to the playoffs. I WOULD KEEP DEREK CARR AS MY RAIDERS QB, I WOULD NOT WANT ANYONE ELSE! Just my opinion and thoughts

When you have good receivers and no true "superstar" it tends to happen a lot and teams are better for it. Just hoping they don't start pushing the ball to Adams and stop the spread. Renfrow is too good to not deserve 80+ catches
To many penalties ultimately was the Raiders downfall tonight. You give up all those penalties in the playoffs you pretty much seal your fate. But despite all the distractions all year they never gave up but showed perseverance and made it the playoffs they deserve respect.

Its sad seeing how we still had Ruggs and the great plays and development he showed this season before the tragedy. We lost Gruden too and we still went to the f'n playoffs.
Such an underrated feat Derek Carr did this last season....and we get haters all the time saying that DC never won a playoff game... man went through so much with us over the years (not just this past season), we felt cursed honestly....
But he stuck with us, even after so many raider fans hated on him too (Im guilty of that as well). He has shown so much loyalty to us and the organization even when we didn't deserve it
He's not the best QB in the league but he's my QB and im proud to have him
