Planet Zoo Dome Tutorial! How To: Step by Step!

I just learnt a trick from Paulsley about this. When you place a gridded wall piece, you can place it on either side of the grid line. But if the walls opposite each other across the dome are both on the OUTSIDE of their lines (as in, outside compared to each other), then the circle will line up perfectly and you won’t get that awkward gap on the last rotation when you duplicate them. Hope that makes sense, it’s easier to show than it is to describe in words
I personally build the way i did in this video and there are for sure different ways to get this result 😅

Ik heb een paar weken geleden een nieuwe dome op de Workshop gezet. Dat is een van de houten varianten. Dat zou diegene kunnen zijn die je bedoelt 🤩🤩

Wow this is nice trick.
Couldn't you have merged the glass hexagon pieces into a group instead of having to re-click them all 3 or 4 times?
That is definitely possible. The method in the video is my personal take on it, thats what worked the best for me personally 😅
Thanks for the tutorial! Question, I can't find a lot of pieces you use.. is it from a expension pack or did you download it from the workshop? I'm totaly new to the game. Keep up the good work!

Ok I found it in sandbox mode but not in normal mode. Do i have to unlock or something?

It may be because you havent researched the right thing. In the mechanical research tab you can research specific “packs”
Modern style, african style, classic style you name it.
If you research these, you will be able to use all the new items that come with it!
Whenever I add glass on top of a wall structure, it adds to group (even if I uncheck 'add to building') and prevents me from being able to duplicate + move. Any tips?? Can't figure it out :(
Extremely late reply, but you can circumvent this by finding the position where you want your glass to be, holding ctrl, then placing it. While ctrl (or shift) is pressed, it disables the automatic adding to group thing
Due to the channel settings change my command was deleted. Hopefully it still worked out Jorden!
what objects did you use for the 2nd advanced dome?
The main items are the wooden beams. Both the recolored and normal one.
Than the fencing from the Aquatic pack + concrete pillars that are part of the base game (i believe). Its been some time since i made that dome 😅

Misschien komt er geen antwoord op deze vraag gezien de video ouder is, maar de glazen koepels waarmee werk je ze af? Het is mij gelukt om ze na te maken vanwege jou video erg bedankt, maar het afwerken (rand op grond, ingang erin) en hoe 2 aan elkaar worden gemaakt heb ik nog hulp bij nodig.
Tevens heb ik vanwege deze video geabonneerd op je kanaal en ik ga nog meer pz video's kijken voor hulp en inspiratie

De rand op de grond is best simpel. Je kan (bijvoorbeeld) een betonnen 4 meter muur plaatsen. Vervolgens sluit je het menu en klik je wederom op de muur die je geplaatst hebt. Dan kan je deze kopiëren en naar de andere plaatsen.
Dan is het in prenciepe het gat opvullen dat tussen de muren ontstaan is en deze in zijn geheel plaatsen 😄
@@Dutchlion bedankt voor het antwoord, zal nog even goed moeten oefenen en proberen met die muren goed kunnen plaatsen en alles, maar dat gaat goed komen.
Wel nog een vraag want muren kunnen alleen horizontaal gedraaid worden en recht geplaatst worden ivm die grid bouwstijl, dus hoe kun je die (van jou voorbeeld) betonnen muur dan schuin plaatsen voor de vorm van de koepel te volgen?
Als je je collectie van muren hebt gemaakt kan je alles selecteren. Als dat is gebeurt zou alles blauw moeten kleuren. Dan kan je op X drukken (toetsenbord) en de collectie horizontaal draaien. Dan is het deels passen en meten wat uiteindelijk het meeste tijd gaat kosten 😅

On which step would that be? If you grouped the items together, it would normally be able to copy 🤔
Didnt understand anything so this did not help me Im left crying bc i spent 7 hours on this and it didnt work i couldnt figure it ot
