MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE - Welcome to New Hampshire, my first time to visit, and we headed straight to Puritan Backroom to taste the original deep fried chicken tenders - they invented them - one of the great American foods! Dating back to 1917, Puritan Backroom is a cherished New Hampshire culinary institution. Weâre getting an exclusive look into the kitchen to see how the chicken tenders are made, and then of course, I canât wait to share with you the amazing meal.
Friends in the video:
đč Jeffrey Merrihue: / jeffrey_merrihue - Stop by at Heroic Italian (g.page/heroicitalian?share) in Santa Monica and say Hi to Jeffrey who is there most days!
Puritan Backroom - Puritan Backroom Restaurant has a long history, where it first began as a candy shop, then they started selling ice cream, before finally opening as a family restaurant with all sorts of food. You will find classic American food, but also a long list of Greek influenced dishes. But by far the most popular food on their menu is their chicken tenders - which they sell thousands of pounds of them per week. The chicken tenders are marinated, then coated in a dry flour batter mixture, and deep fried to golden brown perfection. Moses did an amazing job to fry them perfectly without them being overcooked or dry, leaving them so juicy and moist - without a doubt the juiciest chicken tender Iâve ever had.
Along with the deep fried chicken tenders, we also tried the broiled chicken tenders with special sauce. They were equally as delicious, so juicy and tender, with a legendary special sauce.
Along with delicious family style American food and Greek food, Puritan Backroom is still family owned and operated and you can tell from the outstanding service as soon as you step inside. Thank you to all the staff and Tula for incredible hospitality.
One more thing, Puritan Backroom is a favorite food stop on the US political campaign trail. And as has been said, thereâs only one thing republicans and democrats can agree upon, and thatâs the chicken tenders from Puritan!
Total price - $122.24 for everything

Oh my! I just found Mark this morning and have been at it all day! Love this guy! I am elderly, disabled and live in an old folks home. No way I could get out and explore this world he brings to us so very well! So far today, I've been all over the world, in my mind, tasted some amazing food, but am still hung up on the po'boys from nawlens!
I'm from Manchester! My kids would've loved to have met you lol.
We love the regular tenders and Buffalo tenders. We get two plates for the 5 of us to share and still have leftovers. Their blue cheese is amazing too. We usually get some brown gravy to dip our fries in. Must say the mudslides are absolutely to die for!
My boyfriend and I took a road trip just to eat at the Puritan after watching this video! We tried the tenders, the chopped steak, and a lot of other sides. I had the amazing mudslide! It was all aMaZInG and i am so happy we made the trip! (we drove from CT to NH) worth it! We also met the wonderful hostess Tula ...she is as sweet and nice as she appears. What a great trip! Thanks for the tip Mark!
Amazing how Mark stay slim with all the food he ate!

I would love to stay so small like Mark after I ate food this delicious looking.

I wish you could do a video on traditional native food. I'm Cherokee and I think you would love our food
If Mark doesnt tilt his head and say "oh wow" then I dont want it
Don't forget his closing of the eyes ;)
Lmao yes 1000% facts đđđŒ
It feels mark is more on asian foods. He's doing more tilt head on asian foods rather than american foods. Same as me tho. American foods is just too greasy for me.
Then I guess you're missing out on tons of good food

I live in Keene New Hampshire!! Been to the Backroom many times! Welcome to my beautiful state
Are the tenders really that good? Lol
@@davidseo677 Oh yes! Funny thing about seeing this video, I was thinking, "hmmm...wonder where he thinks the best tenders are", and I almost fell over when he picked The Backroom! New Hampshire, Here I come!...
Honestly, how is Mark not a bigger dude. Shoutout his metabolism.
Love what you do Mark! Keep doing you man!
Yeah I know right? He eats like a dog (no offense mark). Iâm a big guy and I canât even eat like that.
He has a barf fetish.
You know the food is DELICIOUS when there is NO timer involved. Made with only PASSION & LOVE.
I love how Mark really describes exactly how the food is tasting to him! He's really good at his job! Videos are all incredible

Puritan restaurant has a mexican cooking the chicken. I love it. The backbone of america. Give us credit y'all! :D
Always!
Wait you forgot how no one is mentioning the fact that this poor guy is slaving at work for 36 years and can't retire. Seems wrong to humanity to me, but I guess the guy might want to work in a kitchen instead of taking up a new hobby, enjoying nature, and spending time with the fam....right?

awesome
Fried chicken is one of the most popular food all over the world. It is a simple dish but a taste of delicious. People love its smell, taste and the cheerful feelings it brings to them. Love from Koreađ°đ·đ
Ooh yum! My mouth watered all the way through. Iâm so jealous.. Another awesome video đđœfrom little New Zealand đłđż
Wow! Never though I'd see my hometown and favorite restaurant on this channel.
So yummy Mark..im from philippines i always watching your video. Love it đ
Iâm from nh, and maybe Iâm biased, but these chicken tenders are absolutely incredible. And not super tough to make and recreate at home. Growing up my dad would make it for me and my sisters just like this. The trick I think, is the marinated process, lightly floured, and to pull it from the oil just as they are cooked. Then they cook for a little longer after you pulled them
These establishments are the best places to eat. The meals are always consistently great and the staff always make it the best possible experience and are so welcoming which is as important as the food they serve.
đ
How did Washington eat here if he died before 1917
Because hes a pot smoker u can tell how red his eyes r usually
@@Sar_Sar1 having red eyes does not mean he smokes pot đ there are tons of other reasons why his eyes could be red, such as allergies and chronic dry eyes, just to name a few.

Puritan Back Room in New Hampshire was a delight to watch! Never knew Chicken Tenders was invented here as long ago as 1917.
