Given that Tower fans always need cleaning and yet they design them in such a way that they cannot be opened or cleaned, this tells me that any tower fan manufacturer is a selfish, greedy corporation bent on filling landfills with tower fans.
*Love the size and it fits perfectly in a corner but **Fastly.Cool** the whole room. Really like how you can auto adjust how long you want the fan to be on. It is quite but highly effective.*
First and last time I buy a tower fan. It wasn’t hard. Just tedious I’ll stick to the OG oscillating ones. Easier maintenance Thanks for the helpful video
Good advice, except for the wd40, which can attract dust, and make the area gunky. Dry lubricants, like a graphite one just as an example(that I use in key locks, like in a door handle) does a great job without attracting dirt and dust. Thanks for the informative video :)
Various different models and mine had two broken blades. You gave me the courage to ease open the casing (4 self tappers) and superglue the blades back. Beware: we accidentally tipped our fan over when running and this happened.
Hi, it is a great video and surely helped bunch of people on how they can clean their own tower fan. I would like to suggest that using something softer like expired credit card or anything that is not hard when popping or opening in between the gaps. Reason is because using screwdriver or something made of metal will leave dents and may even crack the plastic housing.
Thank you for that, I was concerned but thankfully no cracks no breaks, just couldn't get the back completely off of my Aloha Tower fan, not sure why. Not a really my forte.
Thx for sharing. I've not clean my tower fan for yrs 😅😅. Didn't see a need but the wind is getting weaker probably because too much dust trapped inside.
Since purchasing it, czcams.com/users/postUgkxQuBMI30VhO6fDed6NOsYftsoNa8x0UZ5 this fan is a trustworthy companion during the hot nights in Texas for me. The sleep mode is really quiet and gives you smooth wind to cool down. At full speed the fan is quite noisy but also very strong.Only weird thing is that if there is a draught from another fan, the sleep mode would speed up occasionally (getting a bit louder, probably to level 2 out of 4). This never happened so far when I used only this fan though.
OMG!!!! Never spray lubricant in a fan. EVER!!! Just take it out side and use compressed air while the fan is running at high speed for the fan. Make sure your up wind. For general cleaning Use about 2-3 inch circles with compressed air at different angles for the return and supply fins. If it running slow or squeaking you will need to take it apart and lubricate the 3 bearings in a tower fan. finish blowing all the internal components especially the motor before taking the motor apart. also this is a good time to wash the fan itself.
Thank you for the video! We got a free fan and I had no idea how to clean it but it was too dirty for me to even turn it on and see if it worked. This helped a ton.
Wow! Thank you so much. I absolutely love my tower fan but did not think you were able to clean it. Your video was very helpful. Thank you so much! :-)
Nicely done...thank you...after spraying with a bit of WD-40 to clean things up... I will finish off lubricating the fan with a light oil that will lubricate better and last longer.
WD-40 is highly mistaken to be a lube. It will make it run smoother for awhile, but soon will be even worse because the wd-40 flushed out all of the essential lubricants. It’s a degreaser. Use a lithium type grease. You can get this online anywhere, and if you want you can even look for lithium bike lube. Also never spray anything just “In there”, near the motors. If you want the fan to keep running, you will need to take it apart further if necessary to lube the bearings only. Motors are not just magical devices, but are filled with electrical components and conductors. Spraying stuff on them can damage them or cause other issues.
WD-40 was introduced in 1953. Its name stands for water displacement try #40. It’s purpose was to keep Atlas missiles (equipped with nuclear warheads) for rusting while sitting in their silos for long periods of time. It is non flammable and is also a lubricant. It is not however, a degreaser.
YTA that’s exactly why I found this video! Ugh! I took the fan outside and now I understand why I’m not breathing well in the bedroom. Lol. Maybe husband will breathe better too (I’ll notice even tho he’s usually oblivious)
Actually don't use the WD40 on the fan that will dry out on you. So if your fan starts to get stuck it's because of that use lithium grease it works better and won't make your fan stuck
I just spent over 20 minutes trying to take the cover off. I removed the screws before hands. My days this was so annoyingly tricky. I ended up breaking a clip at the bottom. Very badly designed for dismantling.
Didn't have the same model fan and I was still able to take my fan apart. A flathead screwdriver is almost essential with this process, nevertheless my tower fan came off just like the one in the video did. Thanks!
At 2:40, I guess she's suppose to explain how some tower fans differ from the one she cleaned, but nope. She basically just repeated the same method for the one she cleaned.
...jajaja...Thank you so much...you very smart.. very good tip ...I have a lasko tower ...maybe for more then 8 yrs but still working..I have to open it I have to try...Thanks againg...!!
I got a bit older model where i have to masically force a screwdriver inside the to to get it odd and then force the backcover off (wich will break it) so no cleaning for meeeeeeee... (model i got is basically one of those they dont want you to clean but want you to buy a new..)
You need to use a real lubricant for electric motors similar to the blue “3 in 1” electric motor oil lubricant. NEVER AND I REPEAT, *NEVER* Use WD40 as a lubricant! ITS FOR CLEANING ONLY!

This was very helpful, thank you! Cleaned my fan after 6 years of owning lol you should have seen how much dust was in there.

Thank you both. I was asked to clean the fan, but I didn't have a clue. The booklet didn't mention cleaning.
Various different models and mine had two broken blades. You gave me the courage to ease open the casing (4 self tappers) and superglue the blades back. Beware: we accidentally tipped our fan over when running and this happened.
Thanks for this video. I was hoping someone posted a quick version. Stay Safe and Thanks again

Handy Lex thanks
Thank you for that, I was concerned but thankfully no cracks no breaks, just couldn't get the back completely off of my Aloha Tower fan, not sure why. Not a really my forte.
Good
Thanks. Hadn't thought of that
I don't believe you
Thx for sharing. I've not clean my tower fan for yrs 😅😅. Didn't see a need but the wind is getting weaker probably because too much dust trapped inside.
thanks I never even thought to look for the two screws
awesome that this helped!

Thank you. You kept me from breaking mine. 😊
Excellent video. Just what I needed. Thank you
WD-40 is a degreaser and penetrant. It will dissolve the factory applied grease. You should have used a lithium or Teflon based spray lubricant.
OMG!!!! Never spray lubricant in a fan. EVER!!!

Use the blue 3 in 1 oil on the bearings instead make sure its non detergent one!!!

Thanks. I have been wanting to do this but could not get the fan open. U are wonderful
2022 here thank you. My friend just gave me her tower fan cause she moving to a different country and it needs a bit of cleaning. 😊
I was just trying to clean mine yesterday. Thanks for this tip!
same as myself and I didn't have a clue
Thank you for being so detailed! Loved the video!
Silicone spray works even better. Great help for back removal process. On my list today!
thank you for posting. I have a tower fan. now i can clean it..
this video is a big help. to my low cool air right now. did it this way. and not its. blowing hard like when I first got it.
Thank you for the help, I thought I would break the fan by ripping it off or make some of the wires lose
Awesome you did it!
Nicely done...thank you...after spraying with a bit of WD-40 to clean things up... I will finish off lubricating the fan with a light oil that will lubricate better and last longer.
thank you. appreciate this step by step cleaning guide!
thanks garden frog! this is very helpful :)
Man . . . finally occurred to me to Google search this . Genius Thanx
It's easier to take the back off and use a leaf blower to get the dust out. 5 minute project done.
Thanks for the info! However, WD-40 is a degreaser, not a lubricant. Please use a silicon lubricant to lubricate metal joints.

God bless you for this video. This is my task for tomorrow.
We did it!!!! Thank you very much... from Lima - Peru!!
Diana Vizarreta yeah!
I did this a couple days ago, now I can breathe properly again :)
Awesome!
YTA that’s exactly why I found this video! Ugh! I took the fan outside and now I understand why I’m not breathing well in the bedroom. Lol. Maybe husband will breathe better too (I’ll notice even tho he’s usually oblivious)
Thanks alot. Will try on my because I did not feel any wind come out from the fan at all .
Thank you Garden Frog!
So helpful thanks for sharing
Thank you so much
Useful content, Thank You :-)
Cool thanks 😊 I will be doing this tomorrow 🤘🤘🤘
its 2022 and this is working perfectly for me accept the lower bottom have a screw not clip 🙂

You saved my 9n Christmas eve thank you!
Me on Christmas eve LOL

Very helpful. Thanks.
Some of you may have a screw instead of the two clips at the bottom of the fan
Thank You..😊

You are so good !!
Thanks you are a good teacher.
I was considering taking the cover off and using my vacuum hose to pull all the dust from the fins. Thoughts.
That'll work just make sure your not on a carpet surface as you don't want any static
Omgosh. Thank you so much 😊🤗
This is very helpful.
Don't forget to take out the other screw towards the bottom or you'll end up breaking it like I did :-)
❤thank you so much!!
Thank you so much 👍
Thank you
Thanks for sharing 🙏
...jajaja...Thank you so much...you very smart..
very good tip ...I have a lasko tower ...maybe for more then 8 yrs but still working..I have to open it
I have to try...Thanks againg...!!
THANK YOU!
Thank you for saving my night
Thank you..

Wd40 doesn’t do as well as silicone spray.
Thank you madam it helped me
Waw thank you from Guadeloupe
Thank you so much its helping 👍
I wish they make filter for them
I got a bit older model where i have to masically force a screwdriver inside the to to get it odd and then force the backcover off (wich will break it) so no cleaning for meeeeeeee... (model i got is basically one of those they dont want you to clean but want you to buy a new..)
Thank you!! Awesome
who noticed the lasko box fan in the background
Wd 40 and spray lubes destroys quite alot of plastics fyi
As a curiosity, is that Tower Fan an Aloha Breeze or an Airtech?
Did u use a special screw driver
this is my exact question tho 🤷♀️
Symmetrical Soul just a flat one. Listen closely it’s a normal one just flat
Are you guys seirous
thank you
wow, thanks my fan was thilthy inside!
Would this be safe to do for a tower heater which has a fan in it?
STOP, please get a yard blower, done the job in 2 mins. No need to take to apart, the fans are cheap anyway.
Thanks this vedio
the motor is on the bottom. not the top
thanks
What is that brush you used?
Next time use zoom spot oil
my buttons won't wrk
work
What tower fan brand is this
Jackie McKenzie I do not know but most tower fans are similiar
@@thegardenfroggal its an aloha breeze tower fan, i have 2 of these
DONT DO ANY OF THIS... TAKE IT OUTSIDE AND USE A REGULAR LEAF BLOWER.... IT WORKS PERFECTLY WITH NO TAKING IT APART!!! YOURE WELCOME
And for us city folks that don't have a leaf blower, a screw driver will just do 😁😁
You need to use a real lubricant for electric motors similar to the blue “3 in 1” electric motor oil lubricant.
NEVER
AND I REPEAT,
*NEVER*
Use WD40 as a lubricant! ITS FOR CLEANING ONLY!
What would you recommend instead? I don't wanna end up buying the wrong thing
@@noodlesatemybaby 3 in 1 motor oil. The blue ones. Jordan U is a CZcams channel that does fan restorations. He always shows the proper oil to use.
@@SamZarifYT Appreciate the response, recommendations and heads up. I'd die without my fan!
Um thats really really bad advice to get the fan started with your fingers
Gg
I broke mine! Poor design!
some are very poor design
Why the fuck are u using wd? Just use acan of compressed air!!
Thank you
Thank you
