The fact that people who aren't Charlie fans or not following him would never understand he doesn't care about charting or promoting his songs anymore. Light Switch got a little promotion from his team and That's Hilarious didn't get any promotion except from his fans ! His record label is bussy with other fresher artists and avoiding him...although Charlie himself is being careless about promoting...he just wanna share the experiences he went through !
I understand where you’re coming from. I’ll have to disagree a bit because he uses tiktok as promoting. He’s just using less aggressive marketing tactics. He’s still doing lots of radio interviews and appearing in award shows.

He himself doesn't wanna promote this song because it's very special to him, his fans forced him to release this song that's why he did it. If he wanted to promote it he would've made a MV, and other things like that. And what do you mean by attending award shows ? If you get an invitation you won't respect it ?

This song is so fucking catchy, my only problem is how short it is. Surprised u didn’t like it at first, I immediately thought the chorus was extremely catchy and the best part of the song

i feel like Charlie Puth is one of the male musicians that has true talent, not bc im a fan of him for so long, but srsly he has this perfect pitch first off, also his music sense is so good n he could easily wing off a reli dope beat n tune n add lyrics to it immediately. extremely talented. not to mention his A cappella. Omg i love him so much
He's really great but in this track particularly it was a little bit too much autotuned for someone as talented as Charlie. It's nothing wrong though, it's a banger regardless.

Why does Charlie have lots of anti fans?
Since I watched his teaser on tiktok I was intrigued by the lyrics and the beat, now that I can hear the full song I freakin loved it. Yes I would love it to be longer but I still love it nonetheless

This is personally one of my favourites from the new album but so agree that it deserved a bridge or final verse/chorus to really push it out. It seems to be the main issue that people have with the song because it's so amazing and has so much potential, but once it comes in so hard it's taken away by the fact it's short. I wish he'd not have to worry about songs being short just to appeal to TikTok but that aside, it is one of his best heartbreak songs in years imo and it being short ending abruptly is a part of the storytelling in the song.

I understand that this is short because the song talks quite about a dark time for him and maybe he doesn't want to overshared that moment. Maybe there's a continuation in another song in his album?

The story behind the song is that he experienced 2 breakups that had nothing to do with each other. One of them is him signing a new record label, because the previous one wasn't really taking his opinions seriously and weren't exactly encouraging him to release his new album. The other is a romantic breakup, in which he felt like he lost a year of his life.
All of this is showed together in "You took away a year of my f*cking life and I can't get it back no more", mentioning the romantic breakup and the fact that he wasn't able to say much about how he felt on his songs with the previous record label.
And that's how That's Hilarious was born
This song is very short because he was heartbroken when this event happened. He felt like this was the worst time of his life. He says that he remembers that dreadful time eveytime he hears this song. I guess that's why it is too short? Most likely I think.

It was a similar experience for me. I first listened to the Visualizer, didn't like it much. Then went through the TikToks where he showed how he made it. Started liking it a bit more then, then when he shared his story it became a little emotional, then now when I listened to your reaction... I loved it from the beginning till the end.

This song means a lot to me, it's so relatable in the first place that you even don't think about that "hilarious" part. It's just so sad and heart touching specially bc he already told us the story behind the song is real. It wasn't my most favorite between all those snippets he put on tiktok but it became one of my most favorite songs by Charlie Puth after I listened to the whole song.

I read somewhere that the song might be intentionally short, it kinda grows on you as you listen to it multiple times.
As you mentioned you had to listen to it again to get the full feeling, that way people might stream more, because it feels like something is left out/missing, so maybe could be a marketing strategy!

You should definitely listen to the music of Corpse Husband! His music is not for everyone ofc but it's really unique, deep and edgy, especially with his gorgeous deep voice and personality. I can guarantee that you've not heard this kind of music before and you will be pleasantly surprised (I hope).
