Just a tip, Canadian speed limit signs say Maximum, American ones say Speed Limit.

During the last round I noticed that the satellite dish wasn't pointing directly upwards which is why it couldn't have been Ecuador or the Philippines
This is an excellent tip, thanks. Never thought to pay attention to which way satellite dishes are pointing! (I was just thinking concrete road, probably Philippines.)

Philippines aren’t on the equator tho, they’re about the same latitude as the south of Mexico
I have a tip for differentiating between America and Canada. In America, the speed limit signs will say "speed limit" but in Canada, they will say "maximum". That can quickly rule out either if you see a speed limit sign.

@@mitchellbaker4847 - No, but probably has seen a lot of the Bulgarian streetview coverage, which is what is being judged. Was watching the video and he said, "We could be in Bulgaria" and I was like, "Did you actually look at the buildings?" Because they didn't look Bulgarian.

@9:35 Tom, Canada uses signs that says ‘Max speed’ USA signs say ‘speed limit’. That’s a way to distinguish between the two when you see a speed sign
Canadian speed limit signs often have "km/h" on them. American ones usually have no units.
on 6:32 the blurred phrase is most likely "conserve su distancia" = keep your distance

Why is watching a man staring at a map so enjoyable?
I guessed Eilat because of the roundabout. Apparently they changed *all* the intersections with traffic lights into roundabouts there. To spruce things up they put art in the centres of the roundabouts, and one of them has an installation which is just a bunch of traffic lights pointing any which way and it looks kinda nuts.
Iowan here, I lol'd when you say Eye OH Uh. Even those very adept at geography don't care to know about us here. :)
Don't take it personally. His mispronunciation of US States is an ongoing joke on the channel c.f., "oh ray gun" - I'll let you guess what state that's supposed to be :D
Love this series! But are you planning to upload in 1080p at some point? It can be pretty hard to read the map sometimes, especially when you're watching on mobile.
Tip from an Iowa native in case you ever are going for a perfect score and wind up in American farmland, our fields don’t have dense forests around them often like they did in that 11th guess. Great video btw, love this stuff!

Well, this has been the first time I could go 'Oh, I recognize this roundabout!' when watching your video. What an experience, never thought that would happen! Especially since the place is so far from where I live and I only passed through there once on a bus.
It is very well hidden by USSR and Russian kingdom, but you still can check, that there isn't such a thing as russian writing. The alphabet is bulgarian, made for Great Bulgaria, used first by Great Bulgaria and reworked later by Climent of Ohrid, also a bulgarian, to the the "cyrilic" alphabet we all know today. It's bulgarian writings all around, not russian. You can check this if you have doubts about it.

The last round had a satellite dish that wasn’t pointed vertically toward the sky, so that would be evidence toward it not being in Ecuador or anywhere else along the equator, right?
No11 Satellite dishes are a better guide than the sun. They always point towards the equator and higher up as you get Nearer it. Although if that one is in Mexico I doubt it is working.
