idk why people cant be bothered to clean their phones or make sure the ports are outside your pockets to prevent this from happening i also clean my ears before putting my ear buds in even if its just a quick wipe with my finger

There’s also phone cases that have the charging ports covered as well which then you only open for whenever you need to charge your phone.
