Amazing 19p bargain for the carrots and parsnips and yes, the farmers get sod all and most are making a loss. Big jars or packs of multi seasoning, some are too salty so I hope you have a good one there.
This seasoning is great, it's tried and tested, so I know we like it... it's great in chicken dishes. 😃

The December cold snap following a mild autumn killed all the cabbages on our farm even the savoys which has never happened before !

@@rootofavalon3841 quite a lot of small farmers we talk to said the same, though not always the same crop. Because the weather didn't get gradually colder the plants hadn't toughened up when the really cold temps hit so many people lost crops that are normally hardy. Couple that with the issues in Spain etc and its no wonder veg supply has been a bit tricky this winter.

Asda are doing 20p veg 1k carrots 500g parsnips and broccoli, you are lucky I never find stuff like that these days

Goodness. I will not keep harping on prices but Bird's custard costs over 7GBP when we can find it. Whipping cream is 4.48GBP for .47 liters. I won't even go into the produce.

aesnips are great waterbathed and raost as well as fresh, you are right to worry when they put these offers on they cut price to farmers and not their profits , Our tesco do savoy but I buy my veg direct. I alsp grow bamboo for caanes but make sure you get a nonevasive
Oh I'll have to waterbath some then, I haven't canned any parsnips, thanks for the tip! I have thought about growing Bamboo, but I haven't got space for it now.

Right at the end of the video I was a little confused. Did you mean the Sainsbury’s will be reducing the veg and lamb on Thursday? It’s just that you said you’ll be going back there, and I wasn’t sure if you meant Morrisons or Sainsbury’s?

I think Sainsbury's and a few other supermarkets already have the lamb on offer... but Sainsbury's veg will be on offer from the 5th (Wednesday)
Oh I'm so pleased you like the dicer, I used mine to chop the mushrooms earlier, and I'll be using it for the carrots and parsnips tomorrow, it's still the most used gadget in my kitchen!! 😃❤️

Woop woop, Lidl have 19p veg from April 6. Parsnips or carrots do not freeze well, tried that 😂 and can't justify pressure canning right now but will get parsnips and make soup to freeze but may try dehydrating straps to put in jars with dried soup mixes I'm hoping to make. I'll see how creative I can be.😊
I freeze parsnips and carrots and they work really well for me... I do always blanch them though. Tomorrow will be soup making day for me though! 😃❤️

I have a whole list of things... the first one was roast parsnips and carrots + one of the cabbages for dinner tonight, with the reduced price chicken! 😃 I'll be making and canning lots of veg soup and veg curry tomorrow. 😃
What do you do with all the mushrooms after you have dehydrated them? How long do they keep, how do you store them and how do you reuse them? Sorry lots of questions 😊
Hi Ingrid, for short term storage I will keep them in a jar in my kitchen cupboard so I can use them as needed... but for longer term storage, I keep them in vacuum sealed jars in my prepping pantry. I think they will last for about 18 months if needed, and I use them in a variety of ways, but they are handy for just throwing a handful into soups and stews, and then they rehydrate as it cooks.
What do you do with all those carrots and parsnips. You got an amazing deal. Unheard of.
They have all been used now Helen... mostly with one communal meal, we tend to get through a heck of a lot of veg, which is why I'm growing some of my own this year.

I went to Morrisons this Morning, & got Carrots, & Parsnips, the Savoys, were so little they'd bagged them up in twos. I also found Garlic Idahoan mash, not tried it before, I'll let you know what it's like, we Love the other flavours, so should be good. Take care Tilly. 👍🤗♥️🙂🐶
