I'm thinking of leaving our worship team because the guitar is ALWAYS turned down and sometimes close to off. Nobody hears me play. Lots of time and money invested for little to no return and don't feel like I'm making an impact. Have had conversations with our worship leader but in my church, keyboard reigns supreme and plays all the parts. It's discouraging. 🥺

Thanks so much for the encouragement. It's so hard. We love them so much and it hurts for sure. But I've already seen God restructuring and rebuilding our crew. Thanks again. It felt like I'm getting coached by my big brother.

Been dealing with this sort of situation at my church. And I've felt the exact same way about taking it personal. Really opened my eyes to understand that they chose to leave. Really appreciate the content in this video. Hopefully God has a better plan for for my worship team

I've learned to try to communicate as much as possible and to simply let them leave if their heart is already set on leaving. This just means God is getting someone else ready for that position. Thanks so much for watching.

I get the feeling that a lot of churches will use and abuse you then spit you out. All the worship leaders and church leaders are wanting these cookie-cutter churches where there’s nothing but beautiful shiny faces with amazing smiles. They will do anything to keep it going even if it means pushing somebody out the door.. Another scenario would be being on the worship team or being part of a church and just simply not get paid for everything that you do and you just feel used and want to quit.

***Never an easy subject to discuss but certainly something we all (Leaders) go through sooner or later.
-when possible always important to maintain the relationship cordial and friendly.
Way to be real n genuine in the ups and downz of ministry #happenstousall

I’ve been on the giving side of this situation. I resigned from a church I designed lights at and the technical director took it personally. The reason I left was because I was a volunteer there and I was offered a paid position at another church. I had to constantly remind him that it was not personal.

I had another comment hopefully to encourage or help the worship leaders out there. I've been with my p&w team for 20 years now and just left. It has nothing to do with the main music ministry leader who could potentially feel the most hurt by my leaving. What you leaders need to remember is that these team/bands generally have more members than a traditional band. It's a lot of people to appease and it's impossible to run a band the way you see fit and have it work for everyone. I have always had a problem with my teams overly short practices. I'm the type who likes to work on things in a band situation for at least a few hours until it's right. We have a lot of people on our team with all kinds of various work schedules and families so it's just not possible to have a practice in the evening that I would like. I totally get that and understand their reasoning for these "barely get it done practices". I hold nothing against the leader for this. They tried to move one large practice to Sunday after church for just the musicians. This was an awesome attempt to get more practice time in but unfortunately I can't attend any of those. It seems to work for everyone else though so it was a good move. I just left the band mainly because of logistics and not being able to attend practices and meetings. It's just going to happen. You can't come up with a system no matter how awesome it is that will appease everyone. Team leaders, be blessed and do your best and have peace about your decisions

I'm getting ready to leave my p&w team mainly because the new practice and meeting schedules are on days and times that don't suit. I feel too disconnected from the team because I can't make hardly any of the get-togethers.

Thanks for sharing on the subject. I’m sorry you feel disconnected. It’s not a good feeling but I pray you grow closer to the team or become a part of a team you can connect with and do life with.

9 out of 10, people leave because of toxic environments and not cause they felt God called them to something else.

It's your decision that must count, and not what the pastor demands you.
