- The Shadow Striker player role in Football Manager 24 is another one of those hybrid roles, and with this role the player will look to balance his attacking midfield DNA with the scoring ability of a striker.
But how does the Shadow Striker work? In today's video we'll go over a bunch of tactic stuff, highlighting how this role interacts with the other roles in the tactic. And we do this with a very simple, very basic tactic with Queen's Park from the Scottish Championship! We also talk about what this role does in the defensive phase. This will be a great resource if you're looking to create your own simple tactic by focusing on player roles.
Finally, we talk about a really fun double Shadow Striker tactic with Roma and how their hybrid roots really shine.

Volantes and SS are some of my favourite roles and they interact pretty well

That's a great idea! Though f I'm honest it wouldn't be in the near future, but I have been working on a subset of videos that deal more with tactic ideas. If that makes you feel better haha
Off-center shadow strikers can be a lot of fun. Switching between attacking either the flank or the box. Creating and exploiting space in the middle while also creating overloads out wide
Especially if you have a really strong striker like Lukaku is; he's so good at holding the ball up
I just want to let you know, before this im afraid to used Roaming Playmaker in my tactics, but referring to your previous video, it helps me win Championship with Carlisle Utd in year 2035. Currently tinkering with suitable tactics for Premier League big guns

@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker if I have 2 strikers I'll often retrain the more creative one as a SS, rather than have them together leading the line as an AF+DLF. Dropping one back further into a SS seems to create more space for the other player to run into. Plus having a SV joining the party creates havoc for their defence, lmao

What do you think of a playmaking forward with a single SS?
use 2 winger att and an AM sup with a DM sup + a RPM behind them
I'd have someone on the wing with a role that primarily attacks the box, like an inside forward, to supplement those two. And definitely a safe passing option for that forward in midfield.
Honestly a shadow striker pairs well with so many forward types, I think if you have a great playmaking forward, use him in his preferred role and let the shadow adapt to him

How does a SS compare to a CM-A? Would a SS on the left be occupying the same spaces as an IW-S/A?
I've found the the inverted winger will stay out of the way and only cut in once the shadow striker has pushed up. I know it's not the most helpful, but in the overview/intro section of this video, the two wingers are inverted wingers if you want to see a glimpse on how they act with a shadow striker.
