Awesome video like always! NEW VIDEO IDEA: Have your Dad continue the journey, let him spend the money and count the seasons till he dethrones Bayern and makes Schalke as a best team in Germany. Would 10/10 watch, as this has a nice narrative of fighting Bayern (maybe one of the challenges would be to rebuy Ouedraogo?) that snatched two best players AND to finally let your Dad loose in the transfer market after being restricted for 5 years in the rebuild.

You could also think of rebuilding Hamburger SV vs St. Pauli (Hamburg) or Hertha Berlin vs Union Berlin due to the fact that those are City Rivals. Or the longest going rivalry in German footballing history Hamburger SV vs Werder Bremen.
Gotta be 2 points for a higher league finish. Way more crucial then just winning a game, did Omega dad dirty too.

Feel the points for finishing higher should be more than beating each other. I say this because the first season and overall, Omega Dad did better but ended with lower points. Definitely had the better rebuild.
Also, the assistant managers have a huge impact because Luke starts most series on this channel really well but then goes on holiday and his team performance drops a fair bit.

Loved the rebuild, but I have a suggestion for the points system. For the times that you're both rebuilding slightly smaller sides there could be extra points for finishing higher in the league, like maybe a point per position.
Omega Dad won this head to head, really. European football 3 times, a DFB, and won the Bundesliga 2.
I started a Schalke save at the start of the year. Before I was pretty indifferent to Schalke but now it's my favourite German club and easily one of my top 5 favourite clubs.
The proudest moment I've ever had in FM was winning 5-0 in the Signal Iduna Park against rivals Dortmund. The second proudest moment I've ever had in FM was winning the DFB Polkal from the second division of Germany beating Stuttgart and Leverkusen along the way in my first season with Schalke. I've been playing it on and off for the entire game cycle and am currently in like 2031 or 2032. I haven't won anything except two DFB Polkals but I game second in the Bundesliga twice and came runners up in the Champions League. I'm currently on course to win the Europa League and come second in the Bundesliga again but the fight for 2nd is so close half way through the season so far. Bayern are also only like 6 points ahead in 1st.
Schalke is also the first time I've ever used youth academy players in my first team regularly because before either my team was too good or my youth academy was too bad. The first was a defender who is now my vice captain and probably my second best player at the age of 21, the second was a midfielder and winger who is now probably my third best player at the age of 22. My best player is a 21 year old Italian winger who I bought from Bologna for 5.5 million and is now worth over 100 million 3 seasons later. Definitely my best signing ever. He had a 34 G/A season in the Premier League at the age of 18 on loan to Brentford.

A really tough rebuild.. Did the HSV myself, and Ouedraogo came available for 500k because Schalke came under financial administration
I think you need to give out more points for finishing higher than beating each other, that's the main achievement I reckon in these battles. Schalke was probably the better rebuild (Bar the loss of Quedraogo as that was tragic to loss a quality player), the points system doesn't show it (posted this before the end haha).
Either way, love the rebuild battles and looking forward to the next one. Sunderland vs Newcastle maybe?

Hmmm... To balance out the rebuilds, maybe you could add a single point for European qualification. It will cancel out if both do so, but the differentiator of finishing above the other will already be there to separate it.
That way the h2h does matter, but the rebuild portion of it still counts. Just a suggestion tho, if ya think it don't work, it's all good
You guys should do a Malaga or Espanyol rebuild as they have such an interesting story's.
If any save deserves a season 6, it's this one. Very entertaining

Omega Dad's Paul Seguin is actually the son of one of the most famous East German footballers Wolfgang Seguin - three times East German chamipion, 5 times cup winner and 1974 European cup winners cup, all with 1. FC Magdeburg. Maybe a challenge for you: 1. FC Magdeburg, the only ever European cup winners for East Germany. Bring them back to European glory.
Do you sim through the winter transfer window? I know it would take longer to sim, but leaving dad without using that 34-40m, he definitely could've improved to win ECL.

Oh and aso on these vids can you just show us briefly the tactics instructions (the purple boxes) so we can see what sort of mentality and instructions you go for in these season long sims. Do you tweak the player roles yourself or do you just choose their best role?

Day 33 of asking for Kaizer Chiefs vs Orando Pirates rebuild in South Africa, Mamelodi Sundowns have dominated the league for the last decade or so with these 2 sleeping giants and most notable and historic South African teams performing poorly would make a perfect rebuild! With only Orlando Pirates and Sundowns being CAF champions league winners can one of you bring continental glory to the chiefs? 🇿🇦
Would love to see a 10 season vs one team from Vanarama national league south and one from north and see who can achieve more
I think you should also add a point for european qualification (maybe not conference league) so if someone under or over perform they get rewarded or punished for it

i think anytime your in the same division the poinst system of 4 points for winning league should apply, if your in seperate divisions then the higher league position should apply unless the higher division player wins league

I started own guys save with Man Utd. Trusting only youth intakes and former utd juniors. After one season I already regret as there is not their own guys who really can play big part in Premier League. So I am so gonna get sacked. Now when I see Schalke I think that might be better option for that kind of save. Maybe I try it when I get sacked.

If I were dad, I would've sold all players I'd never use in the first season, despite not receiving anything in my transfer budget. At least the player would be of my books and it would clear wage budget to get free signings or loan players I would otherwise not be able to pay
Doesn’t make sense that in season 1 OmegaDad wins the league by 9 points but finishes 2-1 down on points… he would have still gotten a trophy for 1st place so I think points need reviewed again
