I love Big George. George has never gotten the credit he deserves as one of the greatest tenor players of all time.

Another great lesson for us all, by a man who has always known how to play great, and uphold the highest standards in jazz. Yeah George!

This looks to be from the show at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz, November 25, 1985. Video probably originating from a live shoot by Santa Cruz Community TV (cable channel) with sound mix provided by KUSP-fm, the local community radio station which was doing a live broadcast for the show.

Correction - video was shot by Cruz TV, a service of the local cable system.

Needs to be talked about much, much more to be congruent to his superb ability - that of George Coleman's.
David Sanborn, George's mid-80s protege, can accurately attest to the latter's (George's) brilliance - both as a performer and an educator.

Not sure how eddie vinson's name got into this initial description - tune was written by miles.

Raef, I see now that there appears to be a controversy. Can you tell the story? I pretty certain Cleanhead never recorded it. (Everyone knows Miles has a sorted history of taking undo credit for writing.)

@@berigantaylor610 Eddie Lockjaw Davis too said that “Four” was by Cleanhead Vinson

Miles is erroneously credited with writing the tune. It was, in fact, penned by Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson.
