From Apple Original Films, “F1” stars Brad Pitt as a former driver who returns to Formula 1, alongside Damson Idris as his teammate at APXGP, a fictional team on the grid. The feature is being shot during actual Grand Prix weekends as the team competes against the titans of the sport.
The star-studded cast also includes Academy Award nominee Kerry Condon, Academy Award winner Javier Bardem, and Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe Award nominee Tobias Menzies, Emmy Award nominee Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo.
Joseph Kosinski (“Top Gun: Maverick”) directs and produces the feature alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films; Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B Entertainment; and Lewis Hamilton under his Dawn Apollo Films banner.
The film is made in collaboration with Formula 1® and the F1 community, including the 10 F1 teams and their drivers, the FIA, and race promoters. Copper CEO Penni Thow serves as executive producer.
“F1” will be distributed in theaters around the world and in IMAX® by Warner Bros. Pictures, opening only in theaters in North America on June 27, 2025 and internationally beginning 25 June 2025. Made in collaboration with Formula 1®, the new film is immersed in the exhilarating and cinematic world of F1, as filming takes place at races on the sport’s calendar.

For me, I like the fact that they used the centered camera placement instead of offset. It really gives off the sense of speed

there is a logic behind the original T Cam the more the zoom the more slower it is, so with the amount of zoom shown in the above, the onboard seems to fast to comprehend the info and probably this angle is the only angle which matches the Driver POV in terms of relative speed the most
Only Joseph Kosinski could pull off this magic to feel the moment whether it from the cockpit of F 16 or F1 driver seat.

@@nfmosphotos4624 I'm an F1 head and I don't hate this. The movie was filmed during real grand prix weekends and, as I recall, Hamilton helped directing it or something. This movie has the potential to be a great racing movie imo.

Actually looks really good. Ofc it's a teaser but the cast is stacked and some of the shots are wonderful. They might get the sense of speed and danger in this one.
It looks catered to the broader audience that don't necessarily watch F1. I was hoping for a Rush style movie. But looks like we'll be getting live action Cars movie

Watching Silverstone today in a London F1 bar, this was an advert before the race. The reactions were chuckles and sighs. Room full of F1 fans 😅
Yeah, but the same people who mock people for watching Drive to Survive have all watched Drive to Survive. The folks mocking this movie are going to an IMAX theater to see their favorite drivers opening weekend.

In the trailer here, the cars didn't look like Formula 1 cars and they looked slow.
The terrible dialogue also came across as fake.
So they are the only ones that figured out after 75 years of F1 that being good at turns is important. Also somehow having more downforce is more dangerous.

please i hope this can have a bit more substance to the dialogue and overall understanding of F1 than what the teaser shows - all those big teams have fast cars, but we're gonna do something none of them can do - we will do cornering real good - none of those big teams have ever thought of that and we aint gonna play by the rules of driver safety either ....its like Maverick for F1, and even the same concept of some elderly man at the front of the action, who i doubt would have physcial strength to withstand the forces involved nor the mental agility needed
To date the best F1 movie of course has to be Rush... can this one match it with substance or will it just be filtered stylistic visuals?

I agree. The dialogue really put me off. Then when I saw the cars, that made it worse. Doesn't look or sound believable.

Please make this movie about cars with drama, Not just drama with stupid stunts like Stalone made decades ago.
10/10 for movie accuracy if either Stroll, Sargeant or Latifi crash in the title-clinching race. plus points if Ocon and Gasly crash into each other.
As long as they don't use the classic racing movie trope of all you have to do to pass someone is mash down on the throttle and shift gears. I mean, most racing drivers are just idling around the track most of the time. They only really go fast when it's crunch time in the race and they have to pass half the field to get to P1. Plus they have unlimited gears so they can continue to upshift all the way around the track. People love that stuff.
Oh. I forgot to mention the plot line where the evil bad-guy driver intentionally wrecks the protagonist, causing devastating injury to our hero leading him to question all his life choices and to consider leaving racing altogether. You got to have that one in every racing movie for sure.
I dont think Hollywood is able to deliver something for F1 fans.
They cant reproduce something like Lando Norris last laps in Austria 2020.
